Bloggers Challenge – Valentines
I’m out of town, so this is scheduled to go off on Friday for the Bloggers’ Challenge which is a Valentine theme. I think I’ve shown you all my Valentine’s this year…I’ve done quite a few!
These are the cute little pull-up boxes that my Stamp Club did last month using the Love You Much Bundle. You pull the ribbon and the box of Conversation Hearts pulls up with it! I’ve done this pattern with Hershey bars and other candy items…it has been around.
This one focuses on the Love You Much bundle that was on sale last month. I used all the elements, stamp set, Heart to Heart punch and Candy Lane designer paper. The stripes in this paper are my favorite and there are several variations of stripes in this package! The large heart I stamped on Pretty in Pink with Riding Hood Red and hand-cut. I stamped Friend to Friend in Riding Hood Red on Very Vanilla and punched with the Word Window punch, adding a couple silver mini brads to the side. The 3 small hearts are punched from the Candy Lane DSP, I just used the back side of the small one for contrast. The base is Pretty in Pink and the large heart is popped with dimensionals. I used the slot punch on the front and back so the ribbon can feed down into the box and hold the box of Conversation hearts.
Hope you have a great weekend! I’m headed to see Menopause at the theater with several of my girlfriends on Sunday and dinner after. I’ve heard this is hysterical, so I’m really anxious to see it!

DCBD 114 – Color Challenge
Today’s Diva Coffee Break Designer’s challenge was to use the colors of Always Artichoke, Almost Amethyst, Pink Pirouette and Kraft to design a card. Again, my bigger challenge always involve the color combinations!
However, I pulled out my new set, Trendy Trees, to design this card. I was thinking that the Pink Pirouette could represent the cherry blossom trees! I’m so wanting SPRING to be here! We’ve been tempted with 50 degree weather the last few days (that in Ohio is pretty unusual for February!), but I know it is only a big tease!
I started with the base card of Kraft and layered with Pink Pirouette. I cut some 3/4" strips of Almost Amethyst paper and stamped the swirl stamp in Trendy Trees with White Craft and layered them on the Pink Pirouette. I stamped the trunk in Sahara Sand and topped them with Pink Pirouette blossoms on Whisper White. Then I cut a strip of Always Artichoke with my Cutter Kit to make a curvy line for the "grass". I layered the White on Pink Pirouette, then a layer of Always Artichoke. I added a little bling with a Pink felt flower and silver Filigree brad. Thanks So Much was stamped in Always Artichoke, too.
Enjoy! I’m in a GOOD mood since I finished my taxes…just have to review them one more time and send them off. WOOHOO!!!
Make sure to check out the rest of the DCBD creations!

Polka Dot Punches – Shamrock again
Not sure why I am a little obsessed with making shamrocks out of the heart stamp in Polka Dot Punches (maybe because I live in Dublin???) This one I had in my mind to make 3 dimensional so it looked like it was popping off the card, but would still easily fit in an envelope to mail.
I started by stamping the stem with the partial words "laughter, joy, happiness" from Best Wishes & More stamp set. I received this set FREE when I attended Regional Training in Orlando last month! Then I stamped 3 of the heart stamps from Polka Dot Punches (one of the gifts you can received FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration) in Garden Green and punched them with the new Full Heart punch (sorry…I’ve been calling it Large Heart for a while!) Then I folded them in half to make them look dimensional, placed the points close to the stem words on the Garden Green cardstock, then added a green Rhinestone brad to the center for a little bling. I used some more of the FREE Delicate Dots Designer Paper (another Sale-A-Bration selection for a $50 order) along the bottom and layered it onto Garden Green cardstock. I wrapped some White Taffeta Ribbon and tied a bow. I thought it needed a little something in the upper right corner of the base Certainly Celery card, so I stamped the 5 petal stamp from the Polka Dot Punches set twice on Whisper White and punched out the centers with my 1/2 circle punch. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
Here’s a side view so you can see the dimension. The Shamrock leaves do fold down easily.

Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend. I had my first "official" downline meeting on Sunday since my promotion to Manager! We had fun and did a GREAT project that they will be able to use in their classes. Since I’m also doing the project in a future Stamp Camp, I won’t show it here right now…(sorry!)
I will show you a card made with Polka Dot Punches, one of the free sets you can get with any $50 Stampin’ Up! purchase! I used the heart for my Shamrock card a couple days ago, but I also made a Valentine for my hubby.
This card was one of the challenges I did with my friend, Lisa. We had a sketch (sorry I can’t find it right now!) to use. I started with a base card of Pink Pirouette. Then I ran my polka dot designer paper from Candy Lane thru the swirl Texturz plate (can you see the detail in the background?) You can really see this better in person. I cut a strip of Riding Hood Red and wrapped some Pink Taffeta ribbon around it, then stamped Love You from Short & Sweet stamp set. I added a strip of Pink Pirouette under it that I punched with the new Eyelet Border punch. Next I added some striped designer paper from Candy Lane and layered it on Close to Cocoa, also using a piece of the Pink Pirouette Eyelet Border cardstock. I stamped the heart with Riding Hood Red on Pink Pirouette and punched it with our new large Heart punch and layered it onto the Riding Hood Red 1-3/4 circle for more definition. I like that look! Love the card and I know my hubby will, too!
I’ve a busy week getting some design work done and a card swap, plus the rest of my Valentine’s made and shipped off! Then two classes out of town (rescheduled from the snow storm we had a couple weeks ago!) Whew!!!

Bloggers Challenge 85 – Sketch
Well, this is the third time I’ve tried to post this card! I keep getting an error message before it saves and it is wiping out everything I’ve already typed in! Ugh! So…trying one more time to post my card!
I decided to use a color scheme of Basic Black, Whisper White and Sahara Sand. Very elegant! I cut a scallop circle with the large Scallop Circle die, then stamped the large flower with Basic Black and the small flower with Sahara Sand. I layered it on Basic Black and then the base card of Sahara Sand. I added a strip of Sahara Sand over top and tied it with some White Taffeta Ribbon. The greeting is stamped in Basic Black on Whisper White and layered on Basic Black and Sahara Sand, too! I added a couple 1/4 Whisper White circles to the upper left to balance out the card.
If this looks semi-familiar, it is because this card was the inspiration for the card I posted the other day with Baja Breeze and Sahara Sand! I finished this one earlier in the week and was saving it for today!
Hope you have a great weekend! It is supposed to warm up around here, finally! I’d love to see this snow go away!

Game Night again!
Oops…can you believe I forgot to post this morning? I usually have a routine and prepare it first thing. I don’t know what I did different, just didn’t get around to having it done before I left on my errands this morning. Oh well, better late than never, right? I guess I could have just SKIPPED today…nahhhh….
Here is another Game Night card…it was one of the prototypes I worked on to make my Control Freaks swap. I don’t know why, it just didn’t "float my boat". I think I don’t like the placement of the words on it. But…other than that, it is pretty similar to the one I did do. (Check back HERE if you missed it!) Since I describe that one, I’ll just list the supplies here.
Have a great evening!

DCDB 113 – Fifth Avenue Floral
Last night at the Technique Class, my customer (hi Polly!) thought Baja Breeze and Sahara Sand would be a good color combo! She was RIGHT! I added a little Perfect Plum in the mix to match up with the sketch we used today for the Designer Coffee Break Diva’s challenge.
I started with the base card of Sahara Sand. On the Baja Breeze layer, I stamped the large flower from Fifth Avenue Floral in Baja Breeze, then ran it through my Big Shot with the large polka dot Texturz plate…can you see the polka dots? Then I used the Scallops #2 die to cut the larger scallop circle from Whisper White and stamped the larger flower in Baja Breeze and the smaller flower in Sahara Sand, overlapping it slightly. I used the Lots of Tags Slizzlits die to cut the curvy tag and added a greeting from Really Retro "Good for You!" LOTS of dies on this card, but they make creating SO easy it is hard not to use them…kind of like punches! lol! Finally, I added some Kraft ribbon and vanilla mini brads from the Hodgepodge Hardware kit. Pretty simple card with lots of style!

Love You Much Scallop Envelope box
At Leadership and Convention, I always like to take some 3D type items with me to swap with other demos. I always come away with great ideas. This year, for Leadership I made these scallop envelope boxes and filled them with a Ghiradelli Chocolate! Yummy! They were quite easy to do and nice for a little treat or table favor. This one I used Pink Pirouette for the base scallop envelopes, then added a strip of Candy Lane DSP. I stamped the scallop circle from Love You Much twice, ones in Chocolate Chip on Riding Hood Red and once on Very Vanilla with Riding Hood Red, then punched with the Scallop Circle and the 1 3/8 circle punches. I tied the Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon around the box to hold it closed.
Without doing a step-by-step tutorial, here are a few basic instructions.
1. Cut 2 Scallop Envelopes from cardstock.
2. Score 1/2 inch from top existing score mark and 1/2 inch from bottom existing score mark. Cut off both the bottom score marks you just made.
3. Adhere the two envelope bottom flaps together with sticky strip and add tape to each side. Remove side tapes one at a time and fold into box shape. (Hint…hold the top and bottom together with one hand while you square and line up the sides with the other.)
4. Fold the front scallop flap down into the inside of the box. Fold the back scallop flap to the front.
5. Decorate as desired.
Have fun! Let me know if you make one of these…would love to see your creation!

I normally don’t send out too many cards for St. Patrick’s Day, but I do have a couple Irish friends that I like to recognize every year. I HAD to use the new Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set, Polka Dot Punches, and the heart to make a shamrock! The new large Heart punch makes cutting the heart out a breeze! I’ve been REALLY wanting a heart punch and now we have TWO in the new catalog!
This card is a square card…I know! I don’t make a lot of them, but the shape of the shamrock called out for that size. It is a 5 1/4 square card. I used Chocolate Chip for the base, the layered on Certainly Celery and Garden Green on top of that. Then I used the new Sale-A-Bration Delicate Dots designer paper celery florals. I wanted to add ribbon, so I used the 1" Double Stitched Chocolate Chip Grosgrain and wrapped it around the back of the Garden Green to secure. It added just the right touch.
The shamrock is three heart Polka Dot stamps stamped with Chocolate Chip and punched with the heart punch. I adhered them to Whisper White and then layered it on Garden Green. The stem is from Cheep Talk and I stamped it in Garden Green. I stamped Celebrate from Fundamental Phrases in Chocolate Chip and punched with the Curly Label punch and tucked it up under the focal point. Last, I pierced the center of the Shamrock and added a green Rhinestone Circle brad to the center. It added just the right touch of BLING! All of it was popped up with dimensionals and secured to the base card! I’m HAPPY with how this turned out!
Enjoy your Super Bowl SUNDAY! For the first year, I really don’t care who wins…although Pittsburgh is close, I kind of like that the Cardinals have never been to a Superbowl.
