Blogger’s Challenge - Colors

Published by Connie at 11:22 am under Cards

This week’s Blogger’s Challenge was to use the colors of Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Old Olive and MORE MUSTARD  (oops…I just realized that I forgot to include More Mustard!  Yikes!!!)  Forgive me!  lol!  Just pretend that the tag is punched from More Mustard…I’m going to change it now.  I’d retake the photo, but I need to leave in a few minutes.

The photo really doesn’t do this card justice.  You can’t see the effect of the Vanilla embossed flowers on the cardstock vellum as well as it looks in person.  Plus, the vellum in the picture fades out the background designer papers from Bella Rose.  It really is striking in person!

Inspired by Nature was one of the awesome sets that I received free for going to Convention.  And this is one of the designer papers we were able to preorder, Bella Rose.  It is the same paper as the previous post, just different patterns.  I think it is one of my favorites this season…because of the colors and the patterns in it!

For this card, I layered 1 5/8 inch strips of designer paper onto Very Vanilla cardstock, leaving an 1/8 gap between the patterns.  I stamped the flowers on the cardstock vellum with Very Vanilla Craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I layered the vellum onto the designer paper panel and secured with the Ruby mini brads in the corners.  Next I added the 5/8" wide Old Olive grosgrain around that entire panel.  I stamped Live with Passion in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla (More Mustard) and punched with the Key Tag punch and the slot punch for the ribbon to go through.  The tab has a dimensional behind it to hold it iin place.

Really, this was a pretty easy card to put together!  Hope you enjoy it!  I’m off to check out the other Blogger’s this week!

I really like the layout of this one Connie. Embossing on the Vellum was a great idea and the ribbon is just the right touch to finish the piece off…

Gorgeous Connie! I love the bands of color behind the vellum. Reminds me that I need to do some more embossing myself!

Love how you have used vellum on this, it really sets the card off. We will pretend there is Mustard in there somewhere! Great card.

Great concept with the vellem overlay. The card is very pretty, wish I could see it in person. I may have to case it just to see what it really looks like. The embossing almost looks silver on my screen. Great job on the challnenge even without the mustard, lol.
