SNSS Blog Hop – Light of the World

Today is the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Blog Hop!  Hope you’ll take a few minutes and check out the Blogs featuring Scripture Verses!  One of the things I really like about SNSS is the variety of Scripture verses that are included in most of the stamp sets.  This one from John 8:12 is especially useful to sending off to shut-ins.  It is in the stamp set, Light of the World.

I started this card by cutting an Oval with my Oval Bigz Die in the Big Shot in the center of a Whisper White piece of cardstock.  I laid it over another Whisper White piece and used my sponge dauber with Baja Breeze ink to created the reverse Oval mask.  With the mask still on, I stamped the lighthouse with stamped-off Baja Breeze ink, so it is very faint in the background.  Then I stamped the Scripture verse in Basic Black ink so it really popped out.  The Whisper White was layered on Baja Breeze and then Chocolate Chip cardstock.

The base card is Baja Breeze cardstock and I layered a piece of Parisian Breeze striped designer paper on top of Kraft cardstock.  Then cut some 1 1/4 circles from the Brown Paisley print in Parisian Breeze to layer under it.  Finally, I punched the Scallop Circle from Kraft cardstock, and the 5 petal flower punch from the Paisley print, and added a Kraft Corduroy Button tied with Linen Thread in the center.

I like how it turned out!  Check out the next person on the Blog Tour, Nancy Brown, at Inspired By Stamps to see what Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps Scripture verse she used on her card!

I LOVE how this turned out Connie! That masking technique is awesome, and turned out so well. Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to try that sometime!
