You and Moi Bitty Box

Well…don't ask what happened to me yesterday.  Yep…I just forgot to post!  In my defense, I was prepping for a class last night, wrapping some ribbon shares and working on some Create with Connie and Julie assignments.

When I first saw this box, I didn't think I'd use it much.  But…it actually is VERY cute and has come in handy a couple different times.  This was one of the projects my Stamp Club made last month!

We used two sets that are available FREE for Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase…You and Moi and Vintage Labels.  You and Moi I've had my eye on for quite some time, but finally did get it FREE myself!

I started by cutting the Bitty Box and Envelope die with my Big Shot and Pretty in Pink cardstock.  I stamped the Love Heart randomly with Pretty in Pink Classic Ink all over the unassembled box.  I added a layer of Real Red cardstock on the front, and some Sending Love Designer Paper.  I stamped the Vintage Label in Basic Brown on Very Vanilla and punched it with the Designer Label Punch.  I stamped the Heart You with Real Red on Pretty in Pink and punched with the 3/4 circle.  It is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals in the center.

The treat, however, is inside!  I filled a Small Cello Bag with some Conversation Hearts.  Then I used the Bitty Envelope and stamped the Love heart randomly over it in Pretty in Pink.  I used the Small Heart punch with Real Red cardstock to seal the flap of the envelope.  Inside I made a 2×2 Very Vanilla mini card with a strip of Sending Love Designer Paper on the front and stamped with the You and Moi greeting.  Inside I have the Love Flower image.

Wouldn't this be cute to make for your child's class?  Or to tuck in their lunch box with their favorite treat?  I just think it is FUN!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Beautiful Wings Coaster Calendar

I wanted to make a small gift for my Stamp Club Members last month and had some calendars I hadn't used.  So, while I was at my friend Mindy's house, I made up some of these Coaster Calendars!  Anyone else still have hundreds of these coasters in their stamp room?  lol!  But, I really do use them.

By coincidence, it also fits my design team assignment for Late Night Stampers this week, which is all about butterflies!

I started by covering the front of the coaster with Pretty in Pink cardstock.  I added a strip of the glittery Sending Love Designer Paper to the front.  Then I used Stampin' Up!'s Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die with Very Vanilla cardtock to make my pretty embossed butterflies!  I love that it embosses AND cuts at the same time!  On the large butterfly, I added one of the 1/4 Chocolate Chip Epoxy Brads…they are TOO fun.  After I placed the brad, I finished off the back with another piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock and added a strip of Magnet Sheet so that it can be hung on the refrigerator!

I like it…what about you?

NOTE:  I will be closing this round of the 5/8 Satin Ribbon Shares at the end of the week. Please see this POST for more information on the Ribbon Shares and the Paypal button!  If you need it shipped or want more than one share, please use the drop-down menu to make that selection.

Also includes Whisper White Satin Ribbon (not shown).

Sweet Pea Designer Paper

I absolutely LOVE the patterns in this new Sweet Pea Designer Paper Stack.  Lots of larger patterns for Home Decor or Scrapbooking…but lots of small prints for cardmaking.  The best of both worlds!

I made this magnetic board for my roommate, Coleen, at Leadership.  I was thrilled with how it turned out!  Pretty quick and easy, too.  I started with the pattern of the large bird and flowers and cut it to size on the metal sign.  I added Sweat Pea Stitched Felt Flowers, circles and leaves to the printed flowers for some added texture and dimension.  In the center of the large flower, I used a Blue Rhinestone Brad.  I used the new Bird Punch to add a So Saffron wing to the bird, popped up on Stampin' dimensionals.

I cut the letters for Coleen out of Chocolate Chip cardstock and ran thru the Big Shot with the Simple Letters Alphabet Bigz Dies and adhered them.  I added magnets to the backs of Designer Buttons.  The back had a place to hang the sign, so I used the slots to add the 1 1/4 Chocolate Chip Striped Ribbon for hanging.  It turned out so CUTE!  Now I need one for my Stamping Studio!

That Sweet Pea Designer Paper Stack has all kinds of fun prints and the Sweet Pea Felt Flowers are AWESOME embellishments!

(The Port Authority bag checkers also wanted a close up look at my project, too.  My bag was inspected going to Leadership and Coleen's was inspected going home!  lol!)

It's not too late to join Create with Connie and Julie Occasions Edition!  We are working on lots of exciting projects for this round and have added 3 guest designers!  Come join the fun!  See a sneak peek over at Create with Connie and Julie!

CPS 148 – Happy Moments SAB

Here's a sneak peek of a Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration set, Happy Moments, coming out on TUESDAY, January 5!  It has some FUN images in it…my favorite is the birdcage.  However, the Birthday Cake filled my requirement today.  I wanted to do the sketch from Card Positioning Systems.

I liked that the birthday cake had a couple rows of flowers that look just like the Sizzlet Strip Die, Flowers.  I took my colors from the YUMMY Stampin' Up! Designer Paper, Sweet Pea, that is in the Occasions Mini, too!  LOVE the patterns in that Designer Pack!

I started with a base card of Rose Red and layered on the Sweet Pea Designer Paper, layered onto Old Olive cardstock.  I added the strip of Pretty in Pink cardstock across the front, and then used my Flowers Strip Die to cut Rose Red Flowers to layer on top.  In the larger flowers, I added Latte Designer Buttons and in the small ones, I punched circles from the Crop-A-Dile from So Saffron, then used some Tombow Glue and Dazzling Diamonds to make them sparkle.

My focal element, I stamped the Birthday Cake from Happy Moments in Basic Brown, then watercolored with my Stampin' Write Markers in Rose Red, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron to match the paper.  The flower center and candles I used a little Tombow Glue and Dazzling Diamonds.  I layered the Whisper White on Old Olive, then Chocolate Chip cardstock  and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals!

I think it is a FUN card and I loved the sketch!  Will be playing with that one some more on another day!

Hope you have a wonderful week!  I'll be BUSY packing for Leadership.  WOOHOO!

Don't forget!  Today is the LAST day for Early Bird Special signups on Create with Connie and Julie!

Bloggers Challenge – Celebration!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I hope you had a safe New Year's Eve and are enjoying watching all those football games today.  Well, maybe you are stamping?  I'll be doing a little of both.  I hope to have my swaps designed, so I can sit and put them together while watching Ohio State play in the Rose Bowl.

The Bloggers Challenge theme this week is Celebrations!  And, New Year's is a wonderful time to celebrate!  I wanted to use something that indicated a the new 2010 year, so I pulled out Stampin' Up's Alphabet Simple Numbers Bigz dies!  I've used the letters before, but not the numbers…I love them!  Can you see how sparkly the numbers are?

I started with a base of Taken with Teal cardstock.  I added a layer of Night & Day Designer Paper (in the Holiday Mini that goes away on January 4th!).  I added a Top Note diecut of So Saffron.  Then I added some Certainly Celery punched large stars on the Top Note.  I wrapped 5/8 Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon around the entire piece and tied a knot.  I stamped Happy New Year in Taken with Teal Classic Ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched with my Modern Label Punch.  On each end, I added a small Ice Rhinestone Brad.

The numbers I cut with the Big Shot and Simple Numbers Alphabet Set from Taken with Teal cardstock.  I applied Versamark ink over them and sprinkled on Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, then heat set it.  SO pretty in real life!

Even my husband commented that my card was really "cool"!  Great praise from him!  lol!

Again, I wish for you a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Build a Bear Name Frame

Every time a new baby arrives in the family, their first Christmas gift is a Name Frame from me.  I've been making them for about 5 years now.  I've included the ones I've made over the years just for fun!  Fun to see how our craft has evolved over the years!  My newest one doesn't even have stamping on it…just Big Shot dies!

Paxton is our newest baby and his mom said he really didn't have any theme for his room (probably because he is the 4th child!)  His dad plays professional baseball, and the family loves Ohio State, we also have a cousin who plays baseball for Ohio State, so I made Paxton's Build A Bear into a baseball uniform!

I started with a $3 black frame from Walmart.  You can still get them there!  The inside measures 5 x 12.  I used the Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper for the background.  It is layered on Real Red, but you can't see it in the photo.  The BAB is Creamy Caramel with Chocolate Chip behind his eyes, nose and mouth.  The shirt, hat and stripes on his baseball pants are Real Red.  The shirt cuffs, pants, O letter and #1 are cut from Going Gray cardstock.  I added some black baseball shoes and belt, too.  I cut the letters in Real Red and Going Gray with Stampin' Up!'s Alphabet Simple Letters (LOVE those dies!) and punched the small stars from Real Red cardstock.

I'm very happy with how this turned out!  I think his mom will be thrilled!  These name frames make a great gift from the heart for not a lot of money, once you've invested in the dies!

Some name frames from the past:

Hope you enjoyed that stroll thru the years!  Merry Christmas!

Bloggers Challenge – Sketch

I'm back!  I've been hit or miss on the Bloggers' Challenges the past month.  Just too crazy busy, I guess!  I love sketch challenges, though, so couldn't let this one go by without doing up a card real quick!

Here is the sketch for today's challenge.  I decided to turn it on the vertical to make my card.

The Stampin' Up! stamp, A Brand New Year, is one I really purchased for future use.  I knew that I wouldn't be making New Year's cards THIS year, but I loved this stamp!  I figure sometime in the future, I can use it on scrapbook pages or for invitations.  I don't have anything like it in my stash!

I started with a base of Shimmer White cardstock and layered on Brushed Gold cardstock.  I ran the Soft Suede layer thru the Big Shot with the Petals A Plenty Impressions Folder and highlighted each of the flower centers with a blender pen and Encore Gold Metallic Ink.  I stamped the A Brand New Year image in Versamark on Shimmer White and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.  I colored in the champagne glass with Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker.  This was layered onto Basic Black for some drama!  As a final touch, I added three clear round Rhinestone Brads along the left side and a strip of Groom Designer Stripe Paper along the top!

I think this card has a lot of impact!  What do you think?  I hope you have a wonderful weekend and finish up everything you need to do to get ready for Christmas!

Serene Snowflakes

Another card that fits the non-traditional color theme over on Latenightstampers!  My upline received a similar card from her upline and I loved it, so had to CASE it!  It uses the Tulipe Bigz Die (ON SALE NOW CLICK FOR DETAILS HERE!) as an accent.  The Tulipe is cut and the center part and Melon Moss part opens up and the Bermuda Bay flap folds down.  Great to hold a gift card!

The base is Sahara Sand at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 1 3/4 and 7 1/4.  The designer paper is Thoroughly Modern.  The large snowflake from Stampin' Up!'s Serene Snowflakes was stamped in Bermuda Bay on Whisper White, then the trio snowflakes stamped in Melon Mambo.  I layered the Whisper White on Melon Mambo card stock.  Peace on Earth from Four Holidays Stamp Set was inked with Soft Suede Classic Ink.  I added a pink Ice Circle Rhinestone brad in the center.  The Tulipe Bigz Die was cut on the Big Shot with Soft Suede.

I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and a sponge dauber all around the edges of the layers, on the snowflakes and on the Tulipe diecut!  It is so pretty in real life.  (AND, good news!…Shimmer Paint will continue to be available as a write-in item in our catalog!  Yeah!  I love that stuff!)

In the second picture, I left the bottom folded up so you could see how the Tulipe diecut was placed, but the flap actually folds down.

Isn't this a fun card?  I'll be using that Tulipe die again that way!

Well, still trying to catch up on everything for Christmas.  I did get almost all my shopping done…only one more gift to get.  Yeah!

Don't forget to visit us over on the Create with Connie and Julie Occasions Edition blog. Our Early Bird Special for only $34.95 is a fantastic deal for NINE full weeks!  We have three very talented designers joining us for this session.  It is going to be even bigger and better than the Holiday Edition!  See a sneak peak preview over there, too!

Decorated tins

At a recent craft fair, I was commissioned by a local high school PTO to make tins in their school colors for Christmas gifts for the high school teachers.  Their school mascot/name is the "Shamrocks".  I made 206 of these nugget tins, but filled them with Waggoners Buckeye Candies (an Ohio treat!)  While they took much longer to make than I anticipated, I really liked how they turned out and she was thrilled with them when she picked them up.

Not a lot of Stampin' Up! products were used.  I couldn't match up the green with any of our colors.  I did use Whisper White and Basic Black, along with the Scallop Circle Punch and Modern Label Punch.  Sweetest Holiday Wishes was computer generated.  I used a 2" circle punch behind the scallop.  The shamrock is a Quickutz die that I ran thru the Big Shot.  The dotted designer paper is made by Jilli Bean.  I placed a green button on each of the shamrocks.

Here is one box of 4 that were full of finished tins!  I hope the teachers like them!

Elf Punch Art

This punch art elf is based on some of the images that have been floating around the internet, however, I thought he'd be cute holding onto a Christmas Letter to Santa!

I started with a base card of Bermuda Bay card stock and stamped the snowflake from Stampin' Up!'s Winter Post stamp set randomly across the top half.  Along the bottom, I placed some Merry Moments Designer Paper in the red stripe pattern.  I hid the seam with a strip of Basic Black card stock.  The letter is made with the Scallop Envelope die, I folded it up and adhered the front side to the base card and stamped the snowflake around the edges.  I used the Santa Postmark from Winter Post in Basic Black Classic Ink in the upper right corner.  Merry Christmas is from the set, Christmas Greetings and stamped in Basic Black ink, too.

I made the Elf head with the Ornament Punch, the hat is also done with the Ornament Punch and then cut with the Wide Oval Punch.  The pom pom on his hat is the scallop flower from BoHo Blossoms.  His pointed ears are the star flower from BoHo Blossoms punch, too.  His hands holding the Christmas letter are made with the Word Window Punch.  The eyes are Bermuda Bay 1/4 circles with 1/8 Basic Black and highlighted with a White Gel Pen.  I colored his cheeks with Blush Blossom marker and his mouth with a Basic Black marker.  His nose is also a 1/4 circle from Blush Blossom.

I hope you enjoy my version of the Elf punch art!  My classes enjoyed making him!
