Stamping 411 – A Kind Word

Today's Stamping 411 Sketch challenge was really fun! I was able to pull out a set that I earned free with hostess credits and finally ink it up! Stampin' Up's A Kind Word is such a sweet set. I love the little faces on it and that basketful of kittens is why I really got it!
I started with a base of Almost Amethyst and layered on the So Saffron background floral from Tea Party Designer Paper. I used a strip of the small floral print from Pawsitively Prints and then made the Scallop Flower from the same print! I added a pink Rhinestone brad in the center to hold it in place and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

She was stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White, then I paper pieced her pinafore dress with the Yellow Gingham check from Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper. I watercolored her with Stampin' Write Markers and my AquaPainter. Finally, I added some Almost Amethyst butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.
I think it turned out SO sweet! Make sure to check out what the other Stamping 411 Design Operators have done this week! I'm sure their designs will be fabulous using this sketch. Make sure to play along this week and add your creation to Mr. Linky over on Stamping 411!
Vintage Vogue
Well, did you enjoy the Blog Tour? Aren't those some TALENTED ladies? I'm so blessed to be part of the Control Freak Swappers, I get such great swaps each time. They are big…usuallly 30 or more, but well worth the extra effort!

I thought I'd bring out Vintage Vogue again dressed in some SPRING colors! I'm really wishing it here, aren't I? We are supposed to get MORE snow again tomorrow…luckily just an inch or so.
This actually is the same layout that the Bloggers Challenge used last Friday, I just switched a couple things around. I started with a base of Old Olive cardstock. Then layered on the Sweet Pea Designer Paper. I used the Scallop Border Trim Punch on some So Saffron, then wrapped my White Satin Ribbon around the center and added some "bows" and the Pretty in Pink Epoxy Brads on them! I like how that really dressed up the bows!
I stamped the F from Stampin' Up's Vintage Vogue in Old Olive on Whisper White and punched with the 1 3/4 circle punch, highlighted the Friends in So Saffron Stampin' Write Marker. I stamped the small flower three times with So Saffron on Whisper White and cut them out, along with some Old Olive leaves. Finally, I used the Eggcellent Egg Kit rhinestones and made a circle of them in each center of the flowers! VERY sparkly in real life!
Hope you have a great day. I'm hoping to get a lot of stamping done for the next couple weeks! The ideas are there (luckily), just need to get them down on paper!
It's not too late to get my Satin Ribbon Shares. I INCLUDE the Whisper White in my shares, so you get 10 different colors! Click HERE for more information!
Stamping 411 – Garden from the Heart
It is time for another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge! The weeks are FLYING by aren't they? You can tell it is a BUSY night/day for me with posts. Stamping 411, Tour de Freaks and Create with Connie and Julie Challenge will all post at the same time!
I didn't quite know what I was going to do with this sketch…the small narrow bands were throwing me off. But, I like what I came up with after it was done. Had to change things a couple times, but I think it works.

I started with a base of Dusty Durango and layered on Crushed Curry. I ran the Soft Suede thru the Big Shot with the Finial Press Impressions Folder. I took Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango Ribbon and made the criss cross element on the left side, securing it with a Vanilla Jumbo Brad.
I stamped the gloves and hand shovel with Soft Suede on Very Vanilla and punched with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch, then watercolored with AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers. Finally I stamped Happy Mother Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede on Crushed Curry and punched with the Modern Label punch.
Make sure to check out the rest of the Stamping 411 designer Operators! I'm sure they will have some fun twists to this sketch, too!
Garden Whimsey – Stamping 411
It's Saturday and time for another Stamping 411 sketch challenge! I always love to see what the other Operators create. I'm amazed at how different our cards normally are, even using the same sketch!
I'm desperately wanting SPRING to get here and warm weather to get rid of the snow, so I thought I'd help it along by posting a spring card! I always love seeing the tulips pop up thru the ground.

This set, Stampin' Up!'s Garden Whimsey, hasn't been used for a LONG time, so I thought I'd give it a little ink. I also have a package of bright Kaleidoscope Designer Paper that I wanted to use.
I started by using my Stampin' Write markers to ink up the tulips in Pixie Pink and Melon Mambo, the stems in Certainly Celery and Garden Green. They were stamped three times on Whisper White and layered onto Garden Green. I used the dotted background paper in Kaleidoscope to tie the two greens together. I used the Eyelet Border punch along the bottom of a strip of Whisper White, then wrapped the Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon around the top portion of it and adhered to the back. This all was placed on the Pixie Pink base card. The butterflies were done using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and Pixie Pink cardstock. I used a sponge dauber to add the darker Melon Mambo color around the edges. For their bodies, I used the little sticky rhinestones in the Eggcellent Egg Kit (I am LOVING those rhinestones!) It really makes them sparkle!
I hope you take a minute to check out what the rest of the Design Operators on Stamping 411 did with this sketch! Then make your card creation, upload it to your gallery or blog, and add it to Mr. Linky over on the Stamping 411 blog.
Have a great weekend! I'm going to be sorting stuff to get ready to do my taxes next week. Yuk!!!
Beary Best Friends
I hope you had a great weekend. I know some are still enjoying today as a holiday!
Late Night Stampers challenge this week is to take some inspiration from a fancy decorated cake! I've always wondered if these cakes taste as good as they look! I see colors of Rose Red, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron, along with diamonds, circles, stripes, monograms, and flowers. These all remind me of a sweet little girl.
So, I pulled out Stampin' Up!'s Beary Best Friends stamp set and used it to come up with my Inspiration card. I also used Mary Jo's sketch from last week since I didn't get to play along.
I started with a base of Rose Red cardstock and placed a piece of So Saffron cardstock over top. I stamped the girl bear in Basic Brown on Whisper White. I paper pieced her dress from Tea Party Designer Paper scrap. I used my AquaPainter and markers to color her body in Creamy Caramel, her shoes in Pretty in Pink and Rose Red, the gift bag in So Saffron, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink. The flower is Rose Red and Certainly Celery. I layered this on Pretty in Pink that I used my new Pinking Hearts Border Punch along the top for a sweet little touch.
I added three flowers punched from the Trio Flower Punch and Rose Red, I added a So Saffron Mini Brad in the center of each. Along the bottom, I cut some strips of So Saffron and Pretty in Pink, then placed them to look like stripes across the bottom. I used the awesome 5/8 Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon to hide the seam. (I LOVE these new Satin Ribbons…see my Ribbon Share offer HERE if you want to get some of each color!)
I think the card takes a LOT of it's inspiration from the cake…what do you see?
Lots to do this week…I'm in the midst of trying to organize my studio and clean some things out! Plus need to work on some projects for Create with Connie and Julie and the Tour de Freaks Blog Tour this week!
Stamping 411 – Happy Moments
As you can see, I've done some MAJOR rennovations on my Blog! Thanks to Michelle Laycock for the awesome new Blog Layout! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!
Time for this week's Stamping 411 sketch challenge! On my card, I used two of the new Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration sets, Happy Moments and Vintage Labels. I really like BOTH of these…well, truly, I like ALL the Sale-A-Bration selections this year!
For my card, I started with a base of Almost Amethyst and layered on the floral paper from Tea Party. Then I cut a diagonal piece of the stripe pattern and placed that over the floral (that way I didn't have to worry about seams matching up!)
I stamped the birdcage in Basic Brown on Whisper White and layered it on Almost Amethyst. I added a couple of the Little Leave Sizzlets diecuts in Certainly Celery. The top of the birdcage has a gold mini brad.

I stamped the Vintage Label in Basic Brown and Happy Birthday in Certainly Celery, then punched it with the Curly Label punch. It was placed over the 5/8 Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon…yummy!
This card came together pretty easy with the sketch. I hope you check out the rest of the Operators on Stamping 411 this week and make up a card and play along!
Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge

It's Saturday and time for a new Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge! I'm going to be brief…I'm trying to get my Christmas stuff up today and tomorrow…always so time consuming! My husband says we need a smaller house so we don't have to put up so many things! lol! I do love it when it is up and finished!
Sketch 127 was a fun sketch! I knew as soon as I saw Stampin' Up!'s stamp set, Season of Joy, in my stamping stash that it would be perfect for this sketch!
I started with a base card of Real Red, then layered on Old Olive card stock. I ran a strip of Real Red thru the Big Shot with the Petals A Plenty Impressions Folder and wrapped the Old Olive Organdy Ribbon from Mistletoe package around it and tied a knot.

I inked up the focal word stamp with my Stampin' Write markers in Real Red and Old Olive on Whisper White card stock. I added three gold mini brads to the stamped poinsettia images and then layered it on Old Olive. I placed this over the base card elements. As a added touch, I punched the Curly Label Punch out of Real Red card stock and placed it under the focal element. I had the Poinsettia flower already punched from another project, so I used some Stampin' Dimensionals and placed it in the upper left corner. To make the Poinsettia, I punched two Real Red and one Old Olive with the 5 petal flower punch. I used my Piercing Tool and punched a row of holes in each petal and leaf. I cut out two petals for one leaf and one petal for the other and adhered behind two Real Red flower punches that I put together with three gold mini brads in the center. I really like the added dimension the piercings give to the petals!

Stamping 411 Sketch – Snow Buddies
I absolutely LOVE this stamp set, Snow Buddies. It is a Stampin' Up! Level 2 Hostess set only available in the Holiday Mini Catalog. It just says FUN!
Selene gave us a really cute sketch this week! The minute I saw it, I thought Snow Globe! And what is more perfect than Snowmen in the Snow Globe!
I started with a base of Old Olive card stock, then layered on Real Red. I added a piece of the tiny snowflake pattern in Merry Moments Designer Paper behind the snow globe. At the bottom is a stripe pattern from Merry Moments Designer paper. Above that I wrapped the Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon from Mistletoe Bundle and above that a strip of Chocolate Chip.
I cut the 3 3/4 sized circle on my Circle Scissors Plus out of Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped some small blue snowflakes from Snow Buddies in the background. I also stamped the two snowmen on Whisper White with Basic Brown and cut them out. They were colored with Old Olive, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue Stampin' Write markers. I the bottom of the globe, I tore a random piece of Whisper White card stock and then cut it to the same size circle. I stamped Very Merry from Warm Words stamp set on Chocolate Chip card stock with Very Vanilla Craft Ink, free hand cut the angled sides and used it as the base of the snow globe.
As a last touch, I added some Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds for some sparkly fun!
I hope you check out the rest of the Stamping 411 Operators this week! I'm anxious to see what they did with this sketch! Have a great weekend!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge
it's Saturday! Time for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411. I must say, I love the sketches that Selene has been doing lately! If you attend my classes, you'll see some of these as the basis for future cards we will do! I'm combining this challenge with the Late Night Stampers challenge since the theme is masculine, I thought it fit that criteria.
I can't tell you the last time I used Stampin' Up!'s Lovely As A Tree set. I know it has been in my stamping arsenal since I first began because I made one of my first swap cards at Convention using it! It is just a timeless stamp set…good for every occasion!
I started with a base of More Mustard cardstock. I ran the Really Rust layer thru the Big Shot with the woodgrain texturz plate and then stamped "Thankful Thoughts of You" from Grateful Greetings in the lower right corner. I added a couple strips of designer paper from Autumn Meadows Designer Pack. Then I stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip ink on Vanilla Naturals cardtock and used my sponge daubers to add the Really Rust, More Mustard and Garden Green colors to the tree and grass area. I colored the trunk of the tree with Close to Cocoa Classic Ink and a Blender pen. This piece was layered onto Chocolate Chip cardstock and placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Make sure to check out what the other Stamping 411 Operators did this week! I'm sure their cards will be awesome!

Stamping 411 Sketch – Patterned Pines
I loved both the Hostess Only sets in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini! Patterned Pines is the one I was able to earn first by placing my own $150 order. But, I only just got around to mounting it today! I debated whether or not to cut the trees apart, but I figured I’d probably be stamping and cutting them out individually anyway, so I left them as one piece. Isn’t that the great thing about Stampin’ Up!’s stamp sets? You can mount them however you want!
Here is today’s sketch challenge from Stamping 411! Love the sketch…Selene always does a great job making these up!
Since Patterned Pines was calling my name to ink it up, I used that for my focal piece. I stamped the Pines with Versamark on Very Vanilla and embossed them with Gold Embossing Powder, then cut them out. I mounted them with Dimensionals on a piece of Soft Suede that was run thru the Big Shot with the Petals A Plenty Impressions Folder. It was layered on Brushed Gold cardstock. I added a strip of Brushed Gold Cardstock on the base card of Confetti Cream Cardstock. This color combination is in serious contention for my Christmas Cards this year! I LOVE it! Finally, I stamped Season’s Greetings from Four the Holidays stamp set in Versamark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder, too.
Pretty simple card and easy to mail since it would basically lie flat in the envelope.
I hope you check out what the other Operators have made using this sketch over on Stamping 411, then create your own. Add the direct link to your creation on Mister Linky over there.
Have a great weekend…GO BUCKS!
