Create with Connie and Mary – Aviary
Another sketch challenge for you to try over on Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge! I have to admit that at first I was challenged on what set to use. Once I decided on Stampin' Up!'s Aviary stamp set, the card came together pretty easily! Make sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team did this week with CCMC143!

And here is my card…nice, bright colors, huh?

I started by pulling out the free Sale-A-Bration Designer Paper, Ice Cream Parlor! Sale-A-Bration is fast coming to an end…don't lose out on your chance to get FREE products! I took my colors from the Designer Paper, using Daffodil Delight for the base of my card. I added on a layer of Pacific Point cardstock, and the Designer Paper.
For the focal point, I stamped the cage from Aviary in Early Espresso Classic Ink on Whisper White, then the owl from Aviary in Pumpkin Pie inside. I added the Pumpkin Pie 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon bow on the top, secured with a Pear Pizzazz Glimmer Brad. I layered the Whisper White on Pear Pizzazz cardstock. For the accents on the sides, I used the 1" and 1 1/4" Circle Punches and staggered them towards the center. I used Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers to color the birds. Finally I stamped Get Well Wishes from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Early Espresso and punched with the Word Window punch, layered on a Pumpkin Pie Modern Label punch.
I think the cheerful colors would make anyone "get well" faster!

Stamping 411 – Aviary
Time again for Stamping 411's Sketch Challenge! This one was a little more challenging when I first looked at it. Seemed like there was two focal areas. However, once I thought of the smaller box as an accent, it went really quickly!

And here is my card using Stampin' Up!'s fun set, Aviary. I love using non-Christmas stamps for Christmas!

I stamped the stand and birdcase in Basic Black on Very Vanilla, then added the Cherry Cobbler Christmas Owl in the cage. I added a few Rhinestone Jewels to the base of the cage and at the very top hanger! I layered the Very Vanilla on Old Olive cardstock. The base card is also Old Olive and I layered on some Jolly Holiday Designer Paper (LOVE those dots!)
For the Eyelet Flower, I cut two 3/4" x 12" strips of the polka dot pattern from Jolly Holiday Designer Paper, used the Eyelet Border Punch along one long edge. I used the Circle Die to cut a small circle from the Adhesive Sheet, pulled off one side and began pleating and moving the eyelet DSP around the edge of the circle, moving towards the center. It took me 1 1/2 lengths to finish the flower. In the center I pierced a hole and added the Antique Brad. I took a short length of Crochet Trim, folded it in half and placed it under the flower. I like how it turned out! Finally, I stamped Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Wishes on Cherry Cobbler and punched it with the Modern Label punch, placing it across the stand of the birdcage.

Stamping 411 Sketch – Aviary
Time for another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge! A really fun and easy sketch this week…it came together pretty quickly! We invite you to play along and upload your creation over on Stamping 411. And, check out what the other Design Team Operators did this week!

And here is my card using the fun Stampin' Up! stamp set, Aviary!

I started with a base card of Daffodil Delight. Then I cut strips of Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist and ran them thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. I layered them onto Early Espresso cardstock. I cut another strip of Early Espresso used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, then placed it along the left side.
For the center, I stamped the Birdcage from Stampin' Up!'s Aviary stamp set in Early Espresso on Whisper White, then added the Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi and Daffodil Delight birds inked with Stampin' Write Markers. I punched it with the Wide Oval Punch and then I punched Marina Mist cardstock with the Modern Label Punch, cut it in half, and placed it behind the Wide Oval. I added two Rhinestone jewels to each side. I wrapped the 1/8 Taffeta Daffodil Delight Ribbon to the back and tied a bow at the top of the birdcage. Finally, I stamped "let's celebrate" from On Your Birthday stamp set in Early Espresso, then punched with the Small Oval Punch and placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I had lots of fun playing with this Stamping 411 sketch…hope you do, too!

Want to see another card I made for Convention swaps? This was one for the Control Freaks private swap. As usual, this is the prototype…I ended up not using the Color Spritzer in the corners, or coloring in the bands of the birdcage. I just applied the Rhinestone Jewels on the top band. (Well, truthfully, my friends Barbara and Mindy helped me finish putting together my swaps on the plane…I think Mindy did the jewels! lol! Thanks girls!)

The base is Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft) and I layered on the Poppy Parade cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder. I cut the Early Espresso cardstock with the Top Note, then added another layer of Crumb Cake to the top of the Top Note. I stamped the birdcase from Stampin' Up!'s fun, new Aviary stamp set in Early Espresso. I used my new Poppy Parade and Espresso Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the bird and stamped him inside the cage. I then tied some 1/8" Early Espresso Ribbon around and placed at the top of the birdcase handle. Finally, I stamped Thank You from Teeny Tiny Wishes on Whisper White and punched with the Word Window, then layered it on the Modern Label Punch of Poppy Parade. I added 3 of the Rhinestone Jewels across the top band of the birdcage for a little BLING! Love how that looks!
Going to try to get back to normal today. I cleared out my Inbox of emails…oh my…they had been there when from when I was working on earning Cruise! Next today is to take a shovel to my craft studio and get that cleaned up! Plus plan for my Thursday night Stamp Club!
Have a great day!
