Peace Within swap card

Good morning!  I am feeling a LOT perkier today.  I slept well again last night and have sort of caught up on emails, orders, etc.  I need to finish getting ready for my Technique Class tonight…my studio definately needs cleaned up…it is a mess from working on swaps before I left!

Here is a design that I made for Sherrill Graff’s swap cards a couple months ago.  She hired me to make 20 cards for her to take to Convention.  I decided to use one of my favorite new sets, Peace Within.

I started with a base card of Dusty Durango (othewise known as Brent Steele if you were at Convention!  lol!)  Then I took a layer of Always Artichoke and ran it thru the Big Shot with my Texturz Plate.  I added a layer of Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper matted on Crushed Curry cardstock.  For the focal piece, I stamped the basket image from Peace Within with Stazon Black on Shimmer White cardstock, then watercolored with my Stampin’ Up! markers and AquaPainter.  I distressed the edges with my Distressing Tool, then layered it on Dusty Durango cardstock.  I added the greeting stamped with Dusty Durango on Shimmer White, then punched with the large Oval Punch and layered on the Scallop Oval punch from Always Artichoke cardstock.  Finally, I added 1/2 a Modern Tag punched from Crushed Curry with Gold Mini Brad to the front.

I’m happy with how it turned out!

Nice and BRIGHT!

It is supposed to be gloomy and rainy here the next couple days and definitely cooler (although right now it is just a little cloudy), so I thought I’d share a nice, BRIGHT card with you today!  Only a little stamping on this one, but all the materials are Stampin’ Up!  Lisa, Mary and I did a couple challenges last Friday and this one was to use the colors Tangerine Tango, Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip for a challenge over on Stamp Addicts! 

I started with a card base of Tangerine Tango.  Then I ran a layer of Summer Sun thru my Big Shot with the Texturz Kit #4 plate.  I added some depth of color by rubbing my Summer Sun ink pad over the ridges of the checked pattern.  Then I took a 4×4 square of Tangerine Tango and cut it in half diagonally.  I also ran it thru the Big Shot with the same Texturz plate and rubbed Tangerine Tango ink over the ridges of the checked pattern.  Before I adhered it down to the Summer Sun, I cut a slit about 3/4 from the top left edge and folded the edges down.  Then I cut a 3/4 inch square of Chocolate Chip and adhered it over the folded edges…securing them with white brads.  (I made the white brads by inking up Silver ones with White Craft and embossing them with White Embossing Powder). 

I used my Boho Blossoms punch for the flowers and punched two of each type and placed them together with Summer Sun mini brads in the center (again, I used gold mini brads, Summer Sun Craft Ink and Clear embossing powder to change the color of the mini brads).  I cut a couple of small slivers of Chocolate Chip for the stems and cut some 1/4 Chocolate Chip grosgrain in half lengthwise to make the "leaves".  I would have made these some shade of green, but I was limited with my color selection.  Finally I stamped Hello from Fundamental Phrases and punched it with my Curly Label punch.  It is tucked under the Tangerine Tango layer so it looks like a levi tag!  I also use my Chocolate Chip marker to add some stitch marks around the perimeter of the card.

Ghostly Greetings Pillow Boxes

Aren’t these cute?  For my stamp camps, I always like to have a little gift item sitting on top of their projects, waiting for them when they get here.  These are 1/2 of the ones I made…I did two classes.  The gifts look so colorfull when they walk in…ooohhhing and aaahhing.  Being able to make 3D items was one of the reasons I started stamping.  I so wished I’d have known about Stampin’ Up! when my kids were little.  Making favors for their birthday parties and classes would have been so much fun!

I used the Big Shot Pillow Die from Stampin’ Up! along with the Halloween paper, Ghostly Greetings.  Love the bags and pumpkins on these two designs.  And I love how the pattern is random, so you don’t need to worry about what side is up or down.  I used up some ribbons I had laying around to hold the pillow box closed.  I used the tag stamp from Eat, Drink & Be Scary with the ribbon!  Fun and easy to stamp and punch it out!  Inside I put two peppermint patties.

Flight of the Butterfly 2

OK…I saw that my friends Mary and Lisa did a challenge tonight to make this sweet little box…I’m getting in on the action by making my own little box.  The original design came from Jane Matsumoto. 

Can you guess what it is made from?  The new Big Shot Scallop Envelope BIGZ Die!  Isn’t it CUTE?  Since I had my Hawaii Papaya Designer Paper out from making some Pillow Boxes, I used it to decorate the box, too.  The base Scallop Envelopes are made from Tangerine Tango, then decorated with the Hawaii Papaya and Tangerine Tango striped ribbon.  I stamped the flower butterfly with Tangerine Tango, too, then outlined with Chocolate Chip ink.  The Butterfly is curled with a dimensional behind him so it looks like he just landed for a short visit!

Top Note cello bag topper

I purchased these key chains for a few people at Convention this year and need something nice to "present" them.  The Top Note die came to the rescue again! 

I ran Bashful Blue cardstock and the floral DSP from Summer Picnic thru the Big Shot AT THE SAME TIME!  (You can do up to 4 sheets of cardstock easily!) Then I trimmed the perforated edge off the DSP with my scissors, adhered it to the Bashful Blue layer, then stapled that around the cello bag.  I wrapped the Old Olive grosgrain ribbon around the topper and added Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Whisper White flowers from my Big Shot and a rhinestone center!  I love it…and the recipients have loved them, too.  So much better to give a little item packaged prettily, than just handing them the object!  I know I don’t want to open things like this!  lol!

We spent yesterday at the Lake, it was a gorgeous day!  Sad that we’ll probably only get to enjoy the boat for a few more weekends this year.  This summer has FLOWN by!  I’m crazy busy, too, until end of October…then the holiday rush is on.  Oh my!
