CCMC282 Joyful Christmas

Well, I really haven't gone back to making Christmas cards.  This one has actually been done for a while for the Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge this week!  These colors were perfect for ending up the holiday cards for me.

Here's my card using Joyful Christmas again!  It really has become one of my favorite new sets this season!

Lots of different techniques on this card and it is full of shine and sparkle with Silver Embossing and Silver Glimmer Paper!

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
  3. Across the center, I added a 3 x 4 piece of Season of Style Designer Paper.
  4. Down the right is a 1 1/4 x 5 piece of Silver Glimmer Paper.
  5. I stamped the Poinsettia and leaves from Joyful Christmas twice with Versamark Ink, once on Whisper White and once on Vellum Cardstock, then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.  I cut the center out of the Vellum one and the complete poinsettia out of the Whisper White.  I sponged Cherry Cobber ink over the Whisper White poinsettia…making it darker in the center and lighter towards the edges.
  6. I layered the Vellum center over the larger poinsettia…it really is a cool effect with a little of the darker sponging showing thru the vellum.
  7. I sponged Old Olive on the leaves (not a color in the challenge, but the poinsettia really needed leaves…sorry!)
  8. I popped up all the leaves and flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals on the front.
  9. Finally, I stamped Joyful Tidings from Christmas Messages stamp set with Cherry Cobbler Ink, then cut it with the Oval Framelits and added it to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Love all the glimmer and textures on this card!  Make sure to check out the rest of the Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary, then grab your stamps, take a break and play along!

Reindeer Punch Art

First…here is the Stampin' Up! weekly special!  Yes, you can add these to my ADHESIVE SALE See details on that below!  Only THREE MORE DAYS!

I just did a Christmas Tag Class that used framelits and punches to make six different tags…they did two of each!  One of my favorites was the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer tag (inspired by Monika Davis from a couple years ago).  I updated hers to use current product!  AND…since I loved it so much, I decided to use it on a card for another class!

Isn't he CUTE???  I love the A Banner Christmas greeting on his belly, too.  On the tags we left it blank to write in the To/From.

Here are the details!

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Old Olive embossed with the Stylished Stripes folder.
  3. Along the bottom I added a 1 1/2 x 4 piece of Season of Style Designer Paper, layered on a 1 3/4 x 4 piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
  4. I also added two designer paper banners at the top.
  5. For the reindeer, I used two sizes of the Circle Framelits in Chocolate Chip and Whisper White and cut the top portion of the Whisper White.  I added a small strip of Cherry Cobbler to hide the seam, then added Rhinestones across it.
  6. I punched a Large Oval from Crumb Cake for the muzzle and hand drew on it with a Basic Black marker.
  7. I used the largest Festive Flurry Framelit and cut it for the antlers and the hooves of Rudolph.
  8. His eyes are 1/4" circles of Basic Black, dotted with the White Gel Pen.  His nose is a 3/8" Circle punched from Red Glimmer Paper.
  9. I stamped the Holly Jolly greeting from A Banner Christmas in Old Olive on scrap white and cut it out.  I stamped Christmas with Chocolate Chip directly only the Whisper White.

Do you love him?  I do!
