CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Gold, White and a Color

wi15sathopwelcome

Woohoo, it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is a color challenge…Gold/White/Any Color!  I chose Crumb Cake…a neutral for my “any color” as I thought it went well with the Gold & White.  I pulled out a lot of different “gold” elements for this card…was kind of fun mixing and matching them!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • At the bottom, Noel was inked with Versamark, then embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.
  • The large swirl from Swirly Scribbles Framelits was cut from Gold Metallic Cardstock and added to the top.
  • Several pine branches from Pretty Pines Thinlets were cut from Whisper White and added to the bottom of the “wreath”.
  • The solid pinecone backs were cut from Gold Glimmer Paper and the lacy tops from Gold Metallic Cardstock, and adhered together with Tombow Multipurpose Glue, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A length of Gold Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow and added to the top of the pine cones.
  • Since I thought the background was too plain, I added some splatter from my Gold Wink of Stella by tapping it against a pen.  Love just the touch of glimmer it adds to the background!

Definitely have a wonderful combination of the gold products that Stampin’ Up! offers!  I love how “royal” this card looks!  lol!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Homespun Christmas

createfa15hopwelcome

Ahhh, Thanksgiving is over!  We had a housefull…12 adults and 2 babies…but what a blast!  LOTS of great food and thankful that everyone pitches in and brings something!  Here’s a cute picture of two of the grands, my youngest son’s kids.  Wish it turned out a little better and not so grainy.  My brother and I are about the same age apart as Quinn and Brody are…and I’m sure I remember a similar picture of the two of us together with me almost strangling him around the neck, too!  lol!

But, it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week’s theme is “Homespun Christmas”.  I love the traditional look of pines and pine cones, so that is what I chose to represent my homespun Christmas.  The plaids in the Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper Pack work perfectly!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper selected, then a 1-1/4 piece cut off one end and flipped to the reverse side, then adhered to the front of the Whisper White cardstock.
  • Gold Bakers Twine was wrapped around 3 times to hide the seam.
  • The label from Christmas Pines was stamped with Cherry Cobbler on Crumb Cake cardstock and the Christmas Blessings greeting with Chocolate Chip inside, then hand-cut.
  • The pine branches were cut from Old Olive cardstock, the mistletoe from Whisper White and the pine cones from Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip cardstocks and adhered together on the front.
  • A bow was cut from Gold Glimmer Paper and added to the top of the pine cones.

What do you think?  Did I fulfill the Homespun challenge?  OK…next up is Mary Brown, go check out what she did with the challenge this week!

Christmas Pines

I did this card a while ago and have been saving it to show you!  I originally was going to use it for my Christmas Card Class last month, but it had a lot of die-cutting and I already had a few other projects using the Big Shot!  I just think this card turned out gorgeous!  I love the muted colors.

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate, the Merry Medley Background Image was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink and the sponged around the edges with Smoky Slate Ink.
  • The Pretty Pines Thinlet large and small pine stems were cut from Whisper White and the “mistletoe” from Silver Glimmer Paper.
  • The pine cone background was cut from Whisper White cardstock and the lacy pine cone top from Silver Metallic Paper.  The bow was cut from Real Red cardstock.  They were all adhered to the front.
