OK…there are a couple little TIPS on this card that probably aren’t readily noticeable!  One is that the bones under the skull aren’t actually that long.  I stamped the bone image twice and cut them in half, then added them under the skull to appear that they are long.  The other is the RIP alphabet letters…I didn’t use an alphabet set…I cut out the letters from the Trick or Treat greeting in that set!  Isn’t that cool?

Howl-a-Ween Treats

So, here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tangelo Twist, folded in half.
  • The star pattern from Happy Hauntings DSP is cut 3-3/4 x 5 and adhered on front.  I then decided to add the striped pattern across the bottom, it measures 1-1/2 x 4-1/4.
  • A 1/4″ x 4-1/4 strip of Black Glimmer Paper hides the seam.  I also cut out the word Boo! from Boo To You Framelits from Black Glimmer Paper and adhered it with the new Fine Tip Glue Pen to the DSP.
  • I used the Lots of Label framelit and cut a piece of Basic Gray for the tombstone.  I sponged White Craft Ink around the edges.
  • The skull and bones from Howl-o-ween were stamped on Very Vanilla with the new Archival Black Ink Pad, and cut out with the Boo to You Framelits.  Then the bones were cut in half as described above, and were placed on the tombstone with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a couple rhinestones to the eyes for a little bling.
  • The Trick or Trick greeting was stamped with Archival Black Ink on scrap Very Vanilla, then the RIP letters were hand-cut and added to the top of the tombstone.  Cut off the leg of the second R to make your P.

Isn’t that FUN???  I love how it turned out!  OK, don’t forget to sign up for the BRAND NEW August 2015 Mini session that will be available SOON!  Details are on Create with Connie and Mary!

Stamps: Howl-o-ween Treat
Inks: Archival Basic Black Ink Pad, White Craft Ink
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Tangelo Twist, Basic Gray
Accessories: Happy Hauntings Designer Paper, Boo to You Framelits, Lots of Labels Framelits, Black Glimmer Paper, Rhinestones, Fine Tip Glue Pen

OK…so here’s my card for this week!  I love the simplicity of making wonderful flowers with this set…but thought I’d try something a little different and stamp on Crumb Cake with Whisper White first, then add in the additional colors!

Lotus Blossom 2

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Pool Party, folded in half.
  • On top is a 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Pool Party, embossed with the Spring Flowers Folder.  It is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • On the 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 panel of Crumb Cake, the solid blossom was stamped with White Craft Ink.  The second step was stamped with Blush Blossom and the third step was stamped with Calypso Coral Ink.  The stem was stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow inks.
  • The greeting was stamped with Mossy Meadow, too.
  • A 1/2 x 3 3/4 strip of Blushing Bride was added to the bottom of the Crumb Cake, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC303 Work of Art

I think this new Stampin’ Up! set, Work of Art, is so AWESOME!  We received it at the Catalog Premier last month!  I’ve done SEVERAL cards with it…but holding off on posting them for now.  I think you’ll see a couple during the Tour de Freaks coming up this month!  I’m still waiting on the rest of my preorder.  I waited until after the Stampin’ Up! cruise to preorder from the new catalog so that I knew if we received any of the new products on the cruise I wouldn’t have duplicates.  Then I goofed and forgot to have it shipped 2nd day air…so I’m still waiting on them!  Boo…

The sketch challenge today over on Create with Connie and Mary was made for the set!  Wait until you see what I did!

CCMC303

So, of course, I had to take the abstract images from Work of Art and turn it into a flower!  I think it turned out pretty cool!

CCMC303 Work of Art

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Strawberry Slush cardstock, folded in half.
  2. I cut a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White and used the Work of Art brush image with Strawberry Slush Ink for the flower and the same image for the Wild Wasabi leaves.  I used the long line image in Wild Wasabi for the stem.
  3. I stamped the zig zag image in the same set with Soft Sky ink across the bottom, then stamped off and moved it up and stamped again.
  4. The Just For was stamped with Black Stazon ink, then the You with Strawberry Slush.
  5. I thought it still needed a little bling, so I used some Coastal Cabana solid twine and tied a bow, then used a Mini Glue Dot to hold it in place.  I added some rhinestones randomly on the front.
  6. The Whisper White layer was placed on 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 layer of Basic Black, then adhered to the front of the card.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card and I hope you do, too!!!  I can’t wait to play some more with this fun set!  Make sure to put it on YOUR list!

Now, go over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week!  You’ll LOVE their ideas!  Then grab your stamps and play along!  We love to see your art!

Backyard Basics and BLOG CANDY

WOOHOO!  It's finally my turn to do a CARD SET for our PREVIEW WEEK over on Create with Connie and Mary!  It is the LAST DAY of PREVIEW…we start Card Create-tions 2014 TOMORROW.  I chose Backyard Basics for my set today…mainly because it has matching framelits!  Makes it SO easy to cut them out!  Like Mary, I used only one Designer Paper on my set…Watercolor Wonder.  I was amazed at how nice the stamp set and DSP went together!  I also used the versatile stamp set, Express Yourself, that is a hostess only set in the main catalog.  I love all the greetings in it!

CCMC296 Hello Sailor

Oh what a FUN color challenge today over on Create with Connie and Mary!  I thought it was perfect for the High Tide Designer Paper package, so I grabbed it to use on my card.

CCMC296

Here's my card using Hello Sailor stamp set.  I bought this set mainly for the greeting "You're My Best Mate!"  Love it…perfect for my husband as he has had many boats over the years!

www.inkspiredtreasures.com

Here are the details:

  1. I used a 4 1/4 x 11 base of Summer Starfruit, folded in half.
  2. I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White, and used the Deco Label Framelit to cut out the shape.  Then I used Pacific Point Ink to place the greeting on the base Summer Starfruit cardstock.
  3. Along the bottom, I cut a 2 1/2 x 4 piece of High Tide Designer Paper and adhered it to the bottom.  Along the seam, I added a 1/2 x 4 piece of Pacific Point Cardstock.
  4. I used White Bakers Twine and wrapped it around several times to resemble nautical rope!
  5. I stamped the Wheel from Hello Sailor with Pacific Point on Whisper White and used the Circle Framelits to cut it out, then layered it on another circle of Pacific Point.  In the center I placed an Vintage Button Brad.
  6. I punched out some Banner punches from the High Tide Designer Paper and lined them up along the White Baker's Twine.

I'm happy with how it turned out!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week with the color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!  And…check out our PREVIEW WEEK for the new Card Create-tions 2014 Edition that starts next Sunday!  It's all about cards!  Over 72 EXCLUSIVE cards using 18 stamp sets from the main and Occasions catalogs!  Don't miss out…sign up today!

CCMC293 Pleasant Poppies

Miss me???  I know!  I can't believe it has been a week since I posted!  But, I had a great excuse!  This was my semi-annual stamping retreat weekend.  My girlfriends came in LAST Wednesday and we headed up to the retreat on Thursday thru Sunday.  Had a WONDERFUL creative time with about 6 hours of sleep each night.  Of course, the polar vortex weather had me on edge on wondering when to travel home.  We ended up leaving about 3 hours early and roads weren't bad.  Then the second path of snow decided to go south of us.  But…it also made it difficult for my friends to get out of here…ended up leaving on Tuesday afternoon.  Most of the things I made can't be posted yet…they are for swaps or future classes or challenges!

I've also been busy getting ready for our new session of Create with Connie and Mary Card Create-tions 2014!

So what is Card "Create"tions 2014 all about?

  • 3 weeks of FABULOUS card ideas – 18 different sets (not including our two Preview sets).
  • Each SET is presented with 4 cards…for a total of 72 EXCLUSIVE card ideas NOT SEEN ANYWHERE ELSE!
  • Each Saturday we will each do a small favor as a bonus item using the same set we use during the week.   These WILL be displayed publicly but only subscribers will see the cards!
  • Featuring designers:  Melissa Davies, Debbie Henderson, Deb Currier, Nicole Tugrul, Connie Babbert, and Mary Brown

But…here is my Create with Connie and Mary Design Team card for today featuring a sketch challenge.

CCMC293

I used Pleasant Poppies for my stamped focal background image!

www.inkspiredtreasures.com

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Crisp Cantaloupe folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 Basic Black Layer.
  3. I cut a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of Whisper White and stamped the Pleasant Poppies image with Black Stazon.  I used my Stampin' Write Markers and AquaPainter to watercolor the flowers and stems with Summer Starfruit, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pear Pizzazz.  When dry, I went back over the edges of the flowers with the Marker.  I adhered on the front.
  4. I cut a 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and made a pointed banner end and adhered along the left edge.
  5. I cut 1 x 2 3/4 and 1 x 2 pieces of Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper and cut flag ends, tied the Crisp Cantaloupe Twine in a bow, then placed on top of the pointed banner.
  6. I added two Black Candy Dots to the pointed banner, too.
  7. The greeting is from the hostess only set, Simply Sketched…I love the font!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary to see what they did with this sketch this week!  Lots o FUN ideas!  And, while you are there…sign up for our NEXT session of Card Create-tions!

CCMC283 Flowerfull Heart

Wow!  Hard to believe that Christmas is over already!  Doesn't the time go by fast leading up to Christmas?  I really don't know where the entire month of December went!  But, it was wonderful to be with family and friends.

We have a FUN sketch challenge for you to try this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Grab your stamps and play along!

www.inkspiredtreasures.com

Here is my interpretation using the single stamp, Flowerful Heart, from the Whole Lot of Love promotion!

www.inkspiredtreasures.com

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Real Red, folded in half.
  2. A layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White was placed on top.
  3. Next I used 1/2 sheet of the Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack.  I love that you can get two cards from one page AND it is double sided!
  4. I added a 1 x 3 piece of coordinating Real Red Striped DSP in the same package to the lower right corner, cut with a flag end.
  5. On top of that I stamped Happy Valentine's Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Real Red on Whisper White and cut a flag end.
  6. The Flowerfull Heart was stamped with Real Red on Whisper White and cut with the Heart Framelit.
  7. I cut two of the smallest Heart Framelits from Red Glimmer Paper to tuck under the Flowerful Heart.
  8. I added a Coastal Cabana In Color Boutique Button to the heart with some White Bakers Twine tied in a bow under it.

Make sure to check out the rest of the inspiration from our Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC281 Love You More

OH…again!  I couldn't resist using this CUTE little set, Love You More.  I had worked ahead and originally had a Snow Day card to show off today, but since we're advertising Create with Connie and Mary's Valentine Special Collection this week, I changed it out to this card!  It's a Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge this week!  Hope you play along!

CCMC281

And here is my card:

www.inkspiredtreasures.com

I love this bright and cheerful print in Fresh Prints Designer Paper Stack:

  1. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Soft Sky cardstock, folded in half.
  2. I cut a 3 x 5 1/2 strip of Fresh Prints Designer Paper and layered it on a 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Real Red cardstock.
  3. I cut a Floral Frame Framelit from Real Red and placed it on top.
  4. I used the reverse side of the Chevron Natural Ribbon across the front of the print and adhered the ends in the back.
  5. I stamped the world image in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White and cut with the 1 3/4 Circle Framelit.  Then I added it to a 2" Circle Framelit and popped it up in the center of the Floral Frame.
  6. I used the greeting on a strip of Whisper White and tucked it in the side of the circles.
  7. AND, I used the little heart on the Owl Punch to punch a Red Glimmer heart for the world!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Team…their creativity always excites me each week!
