CCMC-OCC5 Send Me Soaring

We have a FUN color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012 for our subscribers!  They can enter to win one of two FREE subscriptions to the next edition of Create with Connie and Mary just by playing along!  It's not too late for you to play along, too!  We are entering into our sixth week, but you'll still have access to ALL the projects we've done so far…and our website stays up a YEAR after the session has ended!  So…what are you waiting for?  Join today!

Aren't the colors of Soft Suede, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder so nice and soothing?  Very pretty!  I thought of the sky when I first saw this color challenge…so I used Send Me Soaring stamp set.  Hopefully we'll be seeing some of those March winds  (and milder temperatures!) soon in Ohio!

I started with a base of Wisteria Wonder.  I added Wisteria Wonder Patterns Designer Paper to the Whisper White layer, and added a Dotted Scallop Border of Pool Party under the DSP.  I wrapped some Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon around and tied a knot.  I stamped the kites on Whisper White with all three colors, and added a Rhinestone Jewel at the base of the kite where it meets the string (hides the fact that I didn't get the string quite in the right place!  lol)  I made a "ground" of Pool Party and stamped some clouds in Pool Party, too.  Finally, I stamped the greeting in Soft Suede and punched with the 1" Circle punch and layered on the 1 3/8" punched circle of Pool Party cardstock.

Make sure to check what the rest of the Design Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I have some major decisions to make on my cabinets…we are down to the wire to order!

CCMC-189 Gnome Sweet Gnome

We have a color challenge for you to try over on Create with Connie and Mary this week!  It is nice and BRIGHT for these dreary winter days!  We're using Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip and Lucky Limeade!

I must admit…I wasn't too sure about the Gnome Sweet Gnome set when I first got it FREE for a Stampin' Up! incentive that I participated in.  But…it is really growing on me!  They are completely adorable (and if you are a subscriber to the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition, you saw Carrie Gaskin's DARLING project made with this set!)  Hint, hint…it's not too late to join and you can see it, too!!!  But, anyway, I did have fun water coloring this little guy!

I stamped him in Black Stazon on Whisper White and then used my Stampin' Write Markers in Chocolate Chip, Lucky Limeade and Melon Mambo and the AquaPainter to color him, the frog and the lantern.  I cut the pennant shape at the bottom and then punched the Designer Label punch from Melon Mambo, folded it in half and added a trio of flowers from the Boho Blossoms Punch with a green Mini Brad for the top.  The base card is Chocolate Chip and I added the Melon Mambo pattern from the hostess package, Cheerful Treat Designer Paper.   I cut a strip of Lucky Limeade and ran it thru the Big Shot with the Houndstooth folder.

Finally, I added the greeting, except I didn't like the word "lawn" so I covered it up with a Small Heart punch of Melon Mambo with a Pearl in it!

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary.  Some really darling ideas this week!

CCMC-OCC4 – Watermelon Sweet Treat

It's Saturday and time for a challenge for our subscribers over on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012.  The theme for this week is a "Treat for a Sweet"…a little 3D project.  We have some fun ideas for you…check out what the Design Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  All subscribers who play along are entered into a drawing to win one of two FREE subscriptions to the NEXT edition of Create with Connie and Mary.  It's not too late to join and you could win!  You still have access to all the tutorials we've done so far…plus you'll be one of the first to see the new ideas over the next couple weeks.  And, remember, you can access these tutorials 24/7 and our website stays live for over a year for you to refer back to them!

My project is a sweet little Watermelon favor basket filled with M&Ms…now who wouldn't like to get this sweet treat?  It really was pretty quick to put together, too, with the help of my Big Shot!

I used the 3" inch Circle Die to make the Real Red Patterns DSP layer and the 3 1/2" Circle Die to make the Garden Green layer.  The Whisper White layer I did cut at 3 1/4" with my Circle Scissors Tool.  You only need to make one or each, then cut it in half for the other side of the favor basket.  Then I made a simple box to go between the two half circles and it holds my small cello bag of candy.  The watermelon seeds are the smallest heart on the Heart to Heart punch, cut in half, then highlighted with a white gel pen.  The handle is the ric rac pattern on the Tasteful Trim die from Garden Green cardstock, held to the box with Garden Green mini brads.

I tied the Small Cello Bag closed with Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and added a little tag with the You're So Sweet greeting from the Sweet Cake stamp set, stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White.  Here is a side view, too…

Thanks for stopping by…and don't forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team did over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC-188 Love & Laughter

Oh my…I really LOVED the sketch this week for Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge!  Even though it is square and I did a rectangle…it shows you how versatile the sketch really is!

I love combining Basic Black and Daffodil Delight…such a CRISP color combination, especially when put with Whisper White!

I started with the base of Daffodil Delight and layered on Basic Black.  I ran the Whisper White thru the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder.  I cut the large scallop circle from Scallop Duo Die out of Daffodil Delight.  I placed the banner layer between the scallop circle and the focal element, then added Pearls around the scallops and Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon at the top of the black banner layer.

The cake was stamped with Basic Black on Whisper White and punched with the 2 1/2 Circle Punch.  I added a Boho Blossoms flower along the top, with a Black mini brad in the center.  The circle is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the front of the card!

I LOVE this card!  Toot!  Toot!  lol!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Thursday Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Lots of great ideas with this sketch!  Then grab your stamps and play along!  And…have you signed up for the Occasions Edition 2012 yet?  It's not too late to join!  The set I used is one of our featured stamp sets this week!  Join us!  You still have access to all the projects we've done so far…and I must say they have been AWESOME!

CCMC187 – Mixed Bunch

Oh…I love flowers and Stampin' Up!'s Mixed Bunch stamp set and punch are just right up my alley!!!  I have SO many flower sets…you wouldn't believe, but I keep buying more…and I do use them…so I don't feel bad!

Today we have a color challenge for you on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  Here you go:

So…you can see I was challenged to use Mixed Bunch (one of the sets we are featuring this week on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition!) with this color challenge…but I think I did it!

I started with a base of Confetti White cardstock.  I layered on the polka dot pattern from Patterns DSP in Crushed Concord.  Then I embossed the block of Sahara Sand with the Finial Press Impressions Folder.  I stamped the block of Pool Party with the filigree flower in Mixed Bunch with Pool Party Classic Ink.  Both the Sahara Sand and the Pool Party were layered onto a mat of Crushed Concord cardstock.  I added a Scallop Trim Border of Pool Party along the pattern paper.

I stamped the flower on Whisper White with Crushed Concord Ink and punched with the Blossom Punch.  I stamped the flower center again with Pool Party and punched with the 1" Circle Punch and placed a Pool Party Pattened Brad in the center.   I added two "leaves" from the Blossom Punch and Pool Party cardstock, embossed with the Finial Press folder.  The flower is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I added a greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Make sure to jump over to Create with Connie and Mary to see what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week!  And…grab your stamps and play along!  We love to see what you create!

CCMC-OCC1 – PS I Love You

Here it is!  Our first challenge from the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012!  We are just finishing up Week 1 of our subscription…but it's not too late to join!  We still have 5 more weeks of NEW projects to show you and you still have access to everything we've done before!  Our subscribers who play along with the challenge are eligible to win one of two FREE subscriptions to the next edition of Create with Connie and Mary!

And my card, using the products we featured during Week 1…PS I Love You, Take it to Heart, and Candy Conversations.  I decided to use my favorite…PS I Love You…in soft, non-traditional Valentine colors!

I started with a base of Lucky Limeade and added on Wisteria Wonder cardstock.  I cut the rectangle of Whisper White at 2 3/8" wide, then used my 2 1/2 Circle Punch to curve the top.  I stamped the greeting from PS I Love You in Basic Black along the bottom.  I also stamped the cupid on scrap Whisper White in Basic Black, along with the two hearts…one in Wisteria Wonder and the other in Lucky Limeade.  I punched with the Full Heart punch.  I layered the two hearts on the Scallop Heart Embosslits from Pool Party cardstock.  I also added a strip of Pinking Hearts Border Punch from Pool Party along the bottom.

I layered some Sweet Shop Designer Paper across the Wisteria Wonder cardstock, then wrapped the Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon around to the back and secured.  I placed the Hearts on top of the Whisper White with Stampin' Dimensions, then added the Cupid with another Dimensional.   Finally I added a white flower designer button tied with Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine!  I'm so happy they came out with more colors in the Bakers Twine!!!

Check out what the rest of the Design Team did for the Week 1 Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!  I love their ideas!  And…while you are there…sign up to join us!

CCMC185 – Candy Conversations

Well…I hope our subscribers are enjoying WEEK 1 of Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012.  It's not too late for you to join!  You'll still have access to all the tutorials we've done so far AND be the first to see the new ones posted!

It's Thursday, and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  I must say that I REALLY like my card today!  lol!  We have a color challenge for you to play along with this week.  Yummy, bright colors of Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral and Lucky LImeade!

Well, the colors made it a little challenging for a Valentine card, but I wanted to use the sets that we are featuring this week on Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012…PS I Love You, Take it to Heart and Candy Conversations.  So here is my card!

I think I met the challenge, don't you?  I started with a base of Peach Parfait.  I added a neutral layer of Crumb Cake that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Finial Press Impressions Folder.  I added a strip of Everyday Enchantment Designer Paper (coming up in the SAB brochure!) and layered it on Lucky Limeade cardstock.  I punched a Full Heart from Calypso Coral cardstock.  I added three of the candy hearts from Candy Conversations, stamping them in Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade and punch with the Small Heart Punch.  I tied a bow with the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and attached the hearts to the streamers.  I added one more heart to the center of the bow.  The Full Heart punch is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Finally, I stamped the greeting in Basic Black on Very Vanilla and cut out the portion to tuck under the Designer Paper at the top.  Isn't this a FUN card?

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Thursday Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary.  Then get busy and make your own card using the challenge colors…upload it over on Inlinkz!  We love to see what you do!

PS I Love You

Here is a card that my Technique Class did last week.  I showed them Scored Edges…using the Simply Scored tool to dress up the edges of your card!  Pretty simple idea, but it does add impact!  They may notice it is a little different…I went back and added a black silhouette of the cupid over the Crumb Cake that I originally had there!  He is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

As you can see, I did double score lines around all the edges of the Crumb Cake layer.  It is mounted on a 6×6 piece of Real Red cardstock, folded to 3×6.  I like this size of card!  I stamped the heart in PS I Love You in Real Red and punched with the Full Heart Punch.  I also punched a heart from Real Red cardstock.  In the center, I added the greeting from PS I Love You and held it in place with a Red Mini Brad.  In each of the corners, I placed the smallest heart from the Heart to Heart punch for some added interest.  Another pretty simple Valentine's Day card…

We are LIVE!  The Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012 has officially started!  We are SO excited…and know our subscribers are, too!  You can still join us for daily step-by-step tutorials, challenges and PRIZES!  Our website stays up to a year after the edition is over, too…so you can refer back to our projects 24/7!  At $34.95 for over 36 project ideas…that is less than $1 per tutorial!
