CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Beauty of Fall

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Beauty of Fall” this week.  I think the Painted Autumn Designer Paper that Stampin’ Up! offered this year is just FULL of the beautiful fall colors!  I prefer to see the leaves with a touch of green still on them, along with the vibrant red, gold, orange and yellow colors.  I also like using our Large Letter Alphabet and omitting one of the letters in the word with an image like I did here.

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Painted Autumn Designer Paper was placed across the bottom.
  • Some Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon covers the seam and is adhered in the back.
  • The F-L-L letters were cut from Chocolate Chip cardstock and adhered on front.
  • The pumpkin (back) from Seasonal Chums was colored with Pumpkin Pie, Bronze and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, cut with the Seasonal Tags Thinlits, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

So, very easy, but I love how it turned out! Make sure to check out what the Design Team did with the challenge this week! CCMC475 Labels to Love

Oh!  What a fun color combination we have for you today on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  Perfect for these little cooler and rainy days!  Reminds me that fall will soon be here!

The Painted Autumn Designer Paper had this check pattern that I thought worked great with the colors…seems like a few of the other Challenge Team members thought the same thing!  lol!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Very Vanilla, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky cardstock is added on top.
  • The Painted Autumn DSP is 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 and adhered towards the right side.
  • A 1/2 x 5 piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock is added on top.
  • The largest circle in the Stitched Shapes was cut from Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, then stamped with the Labels to Love greeting in Early Espresso Ink, then added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The trio of pumpkins were cut out of the Painted Autumn DSP and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach cardstocks were punched with the Leaf Punch and tucked around the circle and pumpkins.
  • A piece of Soft Sky Woven Ribbon was tied in a knot and added to the circle with a Mini Glue Dot.

LOVE this color combination!  OK…make sure to check out the rest of the Challenge Team designs to see what they did with it.  AND…check out the September 2017 Create with Connie and Mary Mini Session that just opened!

SUOC160 Santa’s Sleigh for Fall

The theme this week on SUO Challenges is Fall Fun (SUOC160).  One thing I like to do is get maximum benefit from my stamps.  I had Santa’s Sleigh on my desk from another project and wondered how the tree would look colored for fall!  I also got to use the fun Labeler Alphabet to personalize the words!

suoc160-santas-sleigh

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake, folded in half.
  • On each side is  3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Petals & Paisleys Designer Paper.
  • In the center is a 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White stamped with the tree from Santa’s Sleigh with Memento Black Ink.
  • I used a Blender Pen with Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze Ink Pads (squeeze the top to collect the ink) and colored.  The trunk was done with Chocolate Chip Ink Pad.  Some “grassy” area was also added at the bottom to ground the image.
  • The trio of pumpkins from Spooky Fun were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White and colored with the Blender Pen and Pumpkin Pie Ink, then cut out and placed along the bottom of the tree.
  • Happy Fall letters from Labeler Alphabet stamp set were individually stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink and cut out, then added across the top.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the top of the tree.

So…what do you think?  Did I succeed in using Santa’s Sleigh stamp set for a fall card?  I think so!  Make sure to check out the rest of the SUO Challenge Design Team’s creations this week over on SUO Challenges, then grab your stamps and play along!  Here are the products I used:

SUO158 Cookie Cutter Halloween

It’s time for another SUO Challenge…this time the theme is Thanks and Thanksgiving!   We all need thank you cards and the Thanksgiving holidays will be here soon!  So, grab your stamps and play along!

I haven’t been feeling well (migraine) the past few days, so I’m posting one of cards we did for my Holiday Catalog Preview class a couple weeks ago!  Just didn’t have the energy to work on a different design and this one fit the challenge!

suoc158-cookie-cutter-halloween

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Delightful Dijon, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla, a 1-1/4 x 5 piece of Petals & Paisleys Designer Paper was added to the left side, and a 2-1/2 x 4 piece of a coordinating pattern next to it.
  • The greeting from Rose Wonder was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink.
  • The Leaflet Framelit was cut from Delightful Dijon and embossed with the Woodgrain Folder.
  • A piece of Burlap Ribbon was cut and shredded on the ends and stapled to the leaf, then added onto the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The scarecrow from Cookie Cutter Halloween was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Very Vanilla and watercolored with Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake and Rich Razzleberry Makers and AquaPainter.  Then punched out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The crow was stamped with Memento Black and added to the front with a Dimensional, too.

That’s it!  Check out what the rest of the Design Team did over on SUO Challenges with the Thanks theme this week!

Thoughtful Branches

Since I’ve heard that Stampin’ Up! is close to exhausting their supply of Thoughtful Branches bundles, I thought I’d show the last of the cards I had made using this set before it is officially gone.  SO…if you have waited and waited and now HAVE to HAVE it…let me know and I’ll get it ordered for you!  lol!  It is a keeper in my book…I know I’ll hold onto mine!

Fall officially starts tomorrow.  I noticed that the first trees have started to turn colors around here, too…even though our temps are still in the 80s!   I used the baby wipe technique to make the multi-colors on my leaves for this card.  The “pad” was nearing the end of its use, so the colors were mixed and blended really well…love how it turned out!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Chocolate Chip cardstock, folded in half.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Warmth & Cheer Designer Paper was layered on a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock then added to the left side.
  • The tree trunk from Thoughtful Branches stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink on a 1-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Whisper White, then the leaves inked on the Baby Wipe filled with Delightful Dijon, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive reinkers.  It was overstamped a couple times for fullness.  Also stamped the “grass” along the bottom.
  • The Delightful Dijon ribbon was cut and swirled on the front of the base, tacking it in place with a couple Mini Glue Dots.
  • The stamped panel was added to a 2 x 4 piece of Delightful Dijon and then adhered to the front diagonally with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the ribbon swirl.
  • Thank You from the same stamp set was stamped with Chocolate Chip Ink in the bottom right corner.
  • Two leaves were stamped in the baby wipe pad, cut with the Thinlets and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it!  What do you think?  My highlights on this card are the ribbon swirl and the baby wipe technique!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Fall is in the Air

CreateFA15HopWelcome

Our theme this week on the Saturday Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop is “FALL IS IN THE AIR”! I hadn’t pulled out my Leaflet Framelits yet this year…and I thought I’d combine it with the pretty Petals & Paisley’s Designer Paper using a reverse leaf design!

suite-seasons-2

Here are the details…pretty CAS design!

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cajun Craze cardstock, folded in half.
  • The 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Petals & Posies Designer Paper was adhered towards the top of the base card.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake, the maple leaf was cut with the Leaflet Framelits.  The edges were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and the greeting from Suite Seasons was added with Chocolate Chip Ink to the bottom.  It was placed on the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A piece of Delightful Dijon Ribbon from the Ribbon Trio Pack was tied in a knot and added above the stem of the leaf.
  • The Metallic Enamel Shape Dots were added to the front for some extra bling.

Jar of Haunts again

Yep…another card done with Stampin’ Up!’s Jar of Haunts stamp set!  I was glad to see a regular pumpkin in this set, and I’m sure I’ll be using it a lot for fall cards…we have a lot of fall birthdays.  And…although I LOVE the jars, there is a lot more you can do with this set!  You may have noticed my new blog look with the stack of pumpkins…combining the two was my inspiration for this card!  BUT…check back tomorrow for ANOTHER twist with this set!

Jar of Haunts 3

Here are the details…

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White folded in half.
  • Along the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate is a 1 x 5-1/4 layer of Halloween Night Designer Paper.
  • The Smoky Slate/Basic Black Baker’s Twine is wrapped around twice and tied in a bow on the front.
  • Happy Day from Perfectly Wrapped is stamped with Memento Black Ink in the upper left area.
  • But…how did I make the different sized pumpkins from just ONE stamp???  First stamp four pumpkins with Memento Black Ink on Pumpkin Pie cardstock and hand-cut them out.  For the top one, trim off the two side curves of the pumpkin to make a smaller one.  The middle one is regular sized.  The bottom is two pumpkins overlapped side by side.  If you follow the lines of the pumpkins, you can see how they match up pretty well!  Stack them all together and add to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The stem/leaf image is stamped with Memento Black on Old Olive, then colored with an Old Olive and Chocolate Chip Marker, and hand-cut.  Two more leaves were stamped, colored and cut for the bottom.
  • Add a few Silver Sequins from the Metallic Sequins Pack for a little bling!

What do you think?  OK…remember…check back tomorrow to see a twisted version of this card!  And…don’t forget!  We are now taking signups for our Create with Connie and Mary September Mini Session!

SUOC135 Lighthearted Leaves

The theme this time over on SUO Challenges is “Fall Fun”!  I’ve been doing Christmas cards on my blog and for classes over the past few weeks, that it felt good to pull out a fall set again.  I used Lighthearted Leaves.  Actually, I do think this stamp set is great for so much more than just fall!  The clean lines would be great for almost any occasion just by changing out the colors!  I went with a more CAS look for fall with Cajun Craze (I think the first time I’ve used this color this fall!), Hello Honey and Crumb Cake!

SUOC135 Lighthearted Leaves

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cajun Craze.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake with a 1-1/4 x 4-1/2 strip of woodgrain Into The Woods DSP added to the right side.  It was punched with the Triple Banner Punch at the bottom.
  • The maple leaf in Lighthearted Leaves was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White, then colored with Cajun Craze, Hello Honey and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers and cut with the Leaflet Framelits.  It was added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from the same set was stamped with Cajun Craze on Whisper White and cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits.  It was adhered over the DSP and leaf slightly.
  • Finally a Gold Metallic Button was tied with Linen Thread and then added with a Mini Glue Dot to the front.

Like I said…very CAS design, but I loved coloring the leaf!  OK…make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team creations over on SUO Challenges, then play along with our Fall Fun theme!

SUOC134 Thankful

This time of year we seem to especially think of our blessings and are thankful for them!  Our theme this week over on SUO Challenges are projects or cards that say Thank You!

I must admit, Wonderland wasn’t a stamp set that I thought I needed and wasn’t on my list.  However, I’ve seen some great cards done with it for Christmas!  But, I think it is so versatile…so I pulled it out for my Thank You card and used regular, non-Christmasy colors!

SUOC134 Wonderland

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Mossy Meadow, folded in half.
  • On the 3-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Whisper White, the tree in Wonderland was stamped several times across with Mossy Meadow Ink.  The trunks were colored in with Chocolate Chip Marker.
  • It is layered on a 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 piece of Delightful Dijon carsdtock.
  • The leaf is cut with the Leaflet Framelits from Delightful Dijon cardstock and sponged around the edges with Delightful Dijon Ink.
  • The Thanks greeting from Watercolor Wishes was stamped with Early Espresso on Whisper White, then punched with the Extra Large Oval, then adhered to the center of the Maple Leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The leaf is placed on the front with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A bow was made with some Gold Cording and adhered to the leaf stem with a Mini Glue Dot.

Very simple and easy to mass produce!  Now, check out the rest of the Design Team over on SUO Challenges to see what they’ve done as a thank you project!

Lighthearted Leaves again

CreateFA15Badge
Oh, the more I use this Lighthearted Leaves set, the more I really like it!  For my Create with Connie and Mary October Mini Session 3D project, I used Vintage Leaves and the Leaflet Framelits…but it would look equally as fun with the Lighthearted Leaves and Leaflet Framelits!  I love that the Framelits fit BOTH sets!  Now, remember, you need to be a subscriber to see my Create project…and we release the October Mini Session on October 11th…so don’t miss out!  You can see a snippet of my project here, along with the others for this month.  It really is fun to make!

October 2015 collage small
Here are the sets we used on the projects this month:

    • Holly Jolly Greetings
    • Vintage Leaves
    • Your Presents
    • Happy Scenes
    • Thankful Forest Friends
    • BONUS:  Reason for the Season

Sign up today over on Create with Connie and Mary!

************************

I also used Lighthearted Leaves again for today’s blog card!  I just couldn’t resist!  We have LOTS of October birthdays in our family, so this one is for my mom who turns 80 this coming weekend!

Lighthearted Leaves

Here are the details!

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the Lighthearted Leaves were stamped with Old Olive and Hello Honey Inks and the greeting from Watercolor Wishes with Chocolate Chip Ink.
  • A 3/4 x 4 band of Tangelo Twist cardstock is added across the front…with a 1/4″ x 4″ strip of Metallic Gold Cardstock in the center.
  • The small leaf was stamped with Tangelo Twist Ink on Crumb Cake, then cut with the Leaflet Framelits.  Some of the fun details were “painted” with White Craft Ink and a Blender Pen…gives you lots of control on where it is painted.  The leaf is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Gold Cording is tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • For a little extra bling, some Gold Sequins were glued to the front of the card.

I know she’ll really like it…hope she doesn’t peek at my blog before her birthday!
