Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge
Time again for Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge. Even though we are gearing up on Sunday for 8 weeks of the new Holiday Edition on the subscriber-only blog, we will still continue the Thursday Challenge on the Create with Connie and Mary public website! We hope you continue to play along with the challenges each week! Make sure to label your post as CCMC117!

I struggled with the direction I wanted to go with my card! SOOOO many things on this cake (but doesn't it look good???), the polka dots, the flowers, the diamonds, stripes, pearls! Oh my! So many choices! I finally went with a very simple card…mainly because I was running out of time! lol! But I do like how it turned out!

I decided that I saw a couple of the new In Colors…Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait in the cake…along with some Poppy Parade flowers! So, I pulled out a sheet of Sunny Garden Designer Paper and cut off the section that had this floral print. The base of my card is Poppy Parade and I layered on Whisper White. I wrapped some 1/8 Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon around the DSP and secured it in the back. I layered that on the Whisper White. I had a 2 3/8 Large Scallop of Pear Pizzazz on my table. So I found the medallion from Matchbox XL Bigz die fit in it perfectly! I stamped the greeting from Stampin' Up!'s For All You Do stamp set in Poppy Parade Ink on the Whisper White and placed it inside the Scallop Circle. I stamped the large flower in Poppy Parade and cut it out. Then I punched the flower from Itty Bitty Punches in Peach Pizzazz and placed it in the center of the flower. I also used one of the Itty Bitty Buttons in the center, tied with some Linen Thread (just for Mary so I didn't have a naked button!) lol! I thought it needed a little more Pear Pizzazz, so I stamped the flower again with Pear Pizzazz and cut out just one petal to make a leaf.
Quick, easy and fun! My favorite kind of card! Go ahead and make your own creation, upload it over on the Create website! We love to use how you interpret the inspiration cake this week! And check out how the other members of the Challenge Team were inspired!
Don't forget…Early Bird Special Savings of $5 off the regular price of $39.95 for the 8 week subscription of Create with Connie and Mary ends on Saturday, September 25th! Don't miss out!
Stamping 411 – For All You Do
Boy…did I catch flack today from some of my friends and favorite stampers! They noticed that I haven't been blogging frequently this past week! Sorry about that…as I said, the past couple weeks have just really been busy for me with things outside of stamping!
Today, Selene has another Stamping 411 sketch! Lots of fun and easy to do, so make sure you play along and link your card to Mr. Linky over on Stamping 411. We look at all your submissions and then take a little vote! Your card may end up on our Showcase! How fun!

This card uses is one of my favorite sets, Stampin' Up!'s For All You Do, and again I'm using some of the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper! What can I say…it just is one of my favorites for spring cards right now!
I took my colors from the Designer paper and used Bermuda Bay to stamp the stem and added some So Saffron mini flowers along it. I stamped the large flower in Pixie Pink and cut it out. I added one of the jewels from the Round Ice Rhinestone brads…took it right out of the setting and used a Mini Glue Dot to place it. Looks pretty cool! I layered the Whisper White on Bermuda Bay cardstock and then Pixie Pink. I wrapped some Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon around it and tied. I placed that element over the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper and on the base card of So Saffron. Finally, I added the Thank You from For All You Do in Bermuda Bay Classic Ink on Whisper White and punched it with the Modern Label punch.
This card came together really quickly (good thing because it was 1:00 AM when I finished!) I'm going to sleep WELL tonight, I can tell you. I was on the road for 4 hours today to do a Punch Class. I always have a great time, though, and love visiting with my gal pals!
For All You Do
Here is another design team challenge card for Late Night Stampers. We were to use the colors Really Rust, Ruby Red and Old Olive. In my post HERE, I stated that I felt those were fall colors and used the leaf stamp from Stampin' Up!'s Best Wishes & More stamp set. This time I wanted to show flowers in those colors, so I picked up one of my favorite sets, For All You Do!

I started with a base of Really Rust cardstock. Then I used the Clear Scallop Square Bigz Die and my Big Shot to cut out the Old Olive Patterns Designer Paper. I also cut out one of the scallop tags from Ruby Red with the Two Tags Bigz Die. I layered the Old Olive Patterns on the base card, then used a White Gel Pen to highlight the stitches around the Scallop Tag. I stamped For All You Do in Basic Black on the scallop part and that was layered over the designer paper. I stamped the branch in Old Olive on Whisper White, then the large flower in Ruby Red and the small flowers in Really Rust. I added an Old Olive Mini Brad to the center of the large flower. This was layered onto Old Olive cardstock and then Really Rust cardstock. I popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals!
I was pretty happy with how it turned out! I'm SO excited! Two of my great friends are coming in today for a few days and we head out to an LONG weekend stamping retreat! I'll have a couple days of blog posts ready to go. Woohoo!!!

For All You Do card tins
Just a quick post because we are getting ready to leave. I wanted to show you one of the items I made up for sale at the Craft Fair last weekend. I had one left so I’m taking that with me on our visit to give our hostess. I got the idea from Julie Dinn, my co-partner in Create with Connie and Julie!
These tins are for sale in the Clearance Section of Stampin’ Up!’s online ordering HERE and our Note Cards fit in them perfectly. I made these up with Stampin’ Up!’s For All You Do stamp set and the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper. The tin I covered with the Designer Paper and then used my Big Shot and the Flower Layers Bigz Die to make the flower and the Build A Petal die for the leaves.
If you want more details, leave me a comment and I’ll respond when I return! Have a great day!
For All You Do
Wow! Thank you for your response to Create with Connie and Julie! Julie has a wonderful joy fold card on the Preview today! Check it out (scroll down past the intro to see the new posts) and then sign up…we have lots more exclusive projects coming your way over the next eight weeks…and the cost is less than a dollar a day for all those ideas!
I have been BUSY with preparing for my craft fair this weekend, too. I don’t know why I wait to the last minute. Probably because it always seems like a long way off…but now it is here! I did get a lot done yesterday and have my "game plan" ready for today.
Today’s card is one I made for last week’s Late Night Stampers challenge to "Chalk it Up!" I used one of my favorite "go to" stamp sets, For All You Do. I love it paired with Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper…the colors are so bright and cheerful!
I started by stamping the flowers and stem with Versamark ink on Whisper White and then rubbed Stampin’ Pastels over top of the Versamark. (Did you know that Stampin’ Pastels come in ALL 48 exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors PLUS neutrals?) This technique is called Poppin’ Pastels. I showed you the Falling Leaves card last Friday that used the same technique. The centers are Crushed Curry dots punched from the large side of the Crop A Dile. The Whisper White was layered on Rich Razzleberry.
I took a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock and added a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 square of Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper on the bottom part. I stamped the little flower from For All You Do in Melon Mambo ink across the top. Then wrapped the Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon from top to bottom and added a knot at the top (actually you are seeing the back of the knot…before I adhered the one end, I turned the knot backwards.)
I stamped the words, For All You Do…, in Rich Razzleberry ink on Whisper White and punched it with my 1 3/8 circle punch. That was layered on a Crushed Curry Scallop Circle Punch piece and I pierced the scallops with my Paper Piercing tool. I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals The entire front element was then placed on the base card of Rich Razzleberry.
Enjoy! I’m off to my studio for the rest of the day…thanks for stopping by!
And a special hi to my wonderful hubby…today is our
30th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!
Love you! (Guess I’d better go make his card, huh?) lol!

Bloggers’ Challenge – Color challenge
Today’s Bloggers’ Challenge is a color throwdown! We were to use Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo and a neutral. Can you say BRIGHT! I naturally thought of flowers…but no green in there. Then I looked at this stamp set and realized I had never used this image from the For All You Do set. The card came together pretty easy after that!
I started by stamping the flower image in Melon Mambo on Whisper White and layered it on both Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip. Before putting it on the Chocolate Chip layer, I pierced each of the centers of the little flowers with my Paper Piercer and mat. Now the Chocolate Chip layer peeks thru the holes!
I used some Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper and layered it on Chocolate Chip. I needed some buttons in the Melon Mambo color, but didn’t have anything close to that color in my Stampin’ Up! supplies. I decided to use the Button die in my Big Shot with the Melon Mambo cardstock. I cut small slivers of Chocolate Chip cardstock to feed thru the holes in the buttons to look like thread! All these elements were layered on Crushed Curry and I wrapped some Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon around it and tied with a knot. Then placed everything on the base card of Chocolate Chip cardstock.
I love the contrast of colors…they just POP!
I hope you have a great weekend! I’m looking forward to relaxing a little!

Tour de Freaks Blog Tour & Bloggers Challenge 113
It’s here! The 20th of the month, which means Tour de Freaks Blog Tour! It also doubles as my Bloggers Challenge this week which is to use die cuts on your card!
This month you’ll have 13 stops on the tour…I’m stop #4. You’ve probably just come from Shona Watson’s BLOG. I know you will enjoy the projects we have lined up for you to view! The theme this month is In Colors! The gals in this group ALWAYS do awesome work! I’m so happy to have been invited to be a member of the Control Freaks Swap Group…it has been FOUR years this month! Hard to believe!
My first project is a little birdhouse ornament. Wouldn’t these look cute hanging on your Christmas tree? Can you tell what I used? Yes, the Matchbox XL Bigz Die! I’ve had this idea in my head since I first saw the Matchbox die. In fact, I did submit a similar one to Stampin’ Up!
For the outside cover I used Bermuda Bay and punched a Scallop Oval in the top panel, then added some Thoroughly Modern Designer Paper on each side. The inside box is Real Red. I made a little scene with two birds from Cheep Talk and the Leaves Sizzlet die. The nest is small slivers of Kraft cardstock crimped and curled into a ball, then stuck on with Mini Glue Dots. The Cardinals are stamped in Real Red, with their beaks colored in with Pumpkin Pie and legs with Close to Cocoa. I added a little roof made from Soft Suede cardstock and covered it with Designer Paper, too. Before I put the two sides of the roof together, I added a ribbon hanger at the top. (Check back next week for a little tutorial on how this was all put together!)
Finally, to finish decorating the outside, I added the Snowflake punched from Faux Diamond Dust paper (Iridescent Ice EP over Whisper White). Then stamped the trio of snowflakes from the hostess set Christmas Punch in Bermuda Bay and punched them out with the Boho Blossoms punch (did you know they fit perfectly???) Added some Red Mini Brads to the centers of the snowflakes.
This next card is a wiper card (purely coincidental that SCS has the tutorial this week)…mine has been done for ages! I used the stamp set For All You Do and stamped the stems in Old Olive and the flowers in Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry. The tag says Thank You and is punched with the Modern Label punch from Melon Mambo cardstock. The Whisper White panel is layered onto Rich Razzleberry cardstock. The base part of the Wiper Card is Crushed Curry and I ran the front and back panels thru the Big Shot with my Finial Press Embossing Folder for some extra texture! The inside "wiper" is made from Whisper White and I stamped the greeting on it and rounded the corners with the Corner Rounder punch. Then I stamped the butterfly with Melon Mambo and cut it out and adhered it to the right right corner of the wiper. When you press the sides together in and out, the wiper pops up, then hides inside the two sides. Cute project to make for class!
My last project was also a card for my niece’s birthday last weekend! I started with a base of Melon Mambo and adhered a layer of Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper across the bottom. Some Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon hides the seam. I used the Flower Layers Bigz Die and cut flowers from Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Leaves (from Build A Flower Sizzlet die) from Old Olive. I ran all of the pieces thru my Big Shot with the Finial Press Embossing Folder. I used dimensionals between the layers when I stacked them together and added a Summer Sun Corduroy Button in the center! I LOVE the outside…but wait until you see the inside!
I used the new Look Here XL Bigz Die cut from Rich Razzleberry. I took the picture without the gift card so you could see it better. I lined the back and bottom front panel with more Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper. I punched the Butterfly from the purple pattern of Razzleberry Lemonade and added a Melon Mambo body with my Slot Punch. And, finally I added the Birthday Greetings from On Your Birthday stamped on Crushed Curry and rounded the corners with my Corner Rounder. She LOVED it! (I’ll show you her brother’s card next week!)
Next stop is Mary Brown at StamperCamper Blog! I’m sure she will has some FABULOUS ideas!
