Haunt Ya Later

The little kids in this Haunt Ya Later stamp set are just too cute.  And, I was in the mood to do some coloring…perfect combination, right?

Haunt Ya Later

Here are the details.

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black cardstock, folded in half.
  • The Happy Haunting DSP pieces were cut 3 x 4 and 2-1/4 x 4 and placed on the base card.
  • A strip of Happy Haunting Washi Tape hides the seam.
  • The 2-1/2 Circle Moon was punched from Hello Honey, then Tangelo Twist Ink was sponged around the edges.  The greeting was stamped with Archival Black ink on the moon.
  • Before placing the moon with Stampin’ Dimensionals, a 2″ circle was punched from Basic Black cardstock and added to the front so they overlapped slightly.
  • The little girl was stamped with Archival Black Ink on Whisper White, then watercolored with Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride and Old Olive Markers.  She was cut out and placed on the Black 2″ Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • 1/4 of a Spider Web Doily was cut and tucked under her left side.
  • 3/4 and 1″ Banners of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and Happy Hauntings DSP were tucked under the moon.

So sweet!  Love how she turned out!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween Favor

CreateFA15HopWelcome
Woohoo! It’s Saturday…and that means the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team have their weekly blog hop! This week we are featuring Halloween favors using stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog!  I pulled out a set that I hadn’t inked up yet, Sparkly Seasons to use the Halloween face pumpkin on the Square Pillow Box!

Sparkly Seasons Pillow Box Treat

Here are the details on how I made it:

  • The base is two cuts from Crumb Cake Cardstock with the Square Pillow Box Thinlet Die to make the box.  It was stamped with Soft Suede Ink and the Hardwood Background Stamp, added Tear and Stick Tape to the tabs and formed the box.
  • A 2 x 12 Belly Band of Happy Hauntings DSP wrapped around the outside and adhered.
  • A quarter piece of the Spider Web Doily was adhered to the inside top of the Belly Band.
  • The chevron circle in Sparkly Seasons was stamped with Tangelo Twist ink on Tangelo Twist cardstock and the face added with Tuxedo Black Ink, then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch.  The stem/leaf image was stamped with Old Olive, the stem colored with Chocolate Chip Marker and cut out, then put on top of the pumpkin.  It was added to the Belly Band with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • The spider from Cheer All Year was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Whisper White and cut out, then added over the web and pumpkin.
  • Happy Haunting from Cheer All Year was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Whisper White cardstock, then trimmed into two pieces and added to the front.

Haunt ya Later
Isn’t that cute???  I love how this turned out!  Here are the details on how I made it:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tangelo Twist, folded in half.
  • A layer of 4 x 5-1/4 Basic Gray was placed on top.
  • The DSP layers are 1 x 4 1/2  and 2 x 3-3/4 prints from Happy Hauntings DSP and adhered on an angle.
  • The 2 x 3 Very Vanilla layer is placed over top and a 1/2 x 4 strip of Black Glimmer Paper placed across the front.
  • The cat and pumpkin from Haunt Ya Later were stamped with Black Archival Ink and watercolored with the AquaPainter and Tangelo Twist, Old Olive and Tangelo Twist Inks.  The cat’s eyes are Old Olive, too.  They were hand-cut and added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Halloween Happy Scenes

I love the set, Happy Scenes in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog!  My favorite image is the spider web!  Here’s a card I came up with…was going to use it for a class card until I realized I used 3 sets of Framelits on it!  Oh well, I still really love the black cat, the window and the scene…so I’m sharing it here!  It reminds me of my cat looking out the window all day!

Happy Scenes 2

Here are the details to recreate this card.

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
  • A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Farmers Market Designer Paper was adhered to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Hello Honey.  A 1/4 x 4 strip of Whisper White hides the seam and is the “chair rail”.
  • The Hearth & Home Thinlet Die is cut from Thick Whisper White.
  • The background of the window is 2-3/8 x 3-1/4 Hello Honey cardstock sponged with Tangelo Twist Ink.  The spider web is stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink in the upper right corner.
  • A moon is punched form the 1″ Circle Punch from Hello Honey cardstock and placed in the upper left corner, trimming off the excess.
  • The Sleigh Ride Edgelit houses were cut from Basic Black cardstock and placed along the bottom of the scene.  The scene was adhered to the back of the window and then added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Pumpkin was made with 1″ Circles punched from Tangelo Twist cardstock, sponged with ink on the edges and adhered together.  The leaf is from the Bird Punch from Old Olive cardstock.
  • The black cat is cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Festive Fireplace Framelits and adhered sitting on the pumpkin and looking out the window!
  • Wishing you from Happy Scenes was stamped with Tuxedo Black on the DSP in the lower right corner.

See…wasn’t it worth using THREE of the Framelits on this card???  lol!  I love it!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – It’s Halloween

CreateFA15HopWelcome
It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team Blog Hop!  Our theme this week is HALLOWEEN!  It’s a spooky time of year!  I just finished my Witches Decor Hat Project Kit and had some left over pieces, so decided to make up a card with them!  Love those orange and black striped pieces!

Witches Night
Here are the details to recreate this card:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tangelo Twist, folded in half.
  • On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic Black cardstock, the orange/place label was adhered across the center.
  • Silver Cording was wrapped three times around that layer and tied in a bow on the left side.
  • The Witches’ Night greeting was stamped with Black Archival Ink on Very Vanilla, then cut with the Lots of Labels Framelit.  The crow was stamped again on scrap Very Vanilla, cut out, then placed on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The 31 is another piece from the hat kit, added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Pretty easy to pull together with the kit pieces and I love how it turned out!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Crushed Cucumber

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week we are featuring the In Color, Cucumber Crush, on our cards!

But first, our new AUGUST MINI SESSION opened on August 19, but it’s not too late to join!  The next stop at Create with Connie and Mary website will give you more details and a chance to sign up!

Have you ever started a card and it was going along great until you added one more element?  Now…normally, I would scrap it and start over…but it really wasn’t a throw-away…so I’m showing it here!  lol!  My Among the Branches card was sort of spooky looking even with the bright Cucumber Crush…until I added the leaves in the tree branch, then it kind of got too tame for a Halloween card.  And…I wanted some eyeballs in the background, but didn’t think they would work.  Tell me what YOU think!

Among the Branches
Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cucumber Crush cardstock, folded in half.
  • Across the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is  1-1/2′ x 5-1/4″ strip of In Colors Patterns Collection.
  • A 1/8″ x 5-1/4 strip of Black Glimmer Paper hides the seam.
  • The tree branch from Among the Branches was stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink in the upper right corner, along with the black Crow…then those darn Cucumber Crush leaves were added.  lol!
  • Spooky was stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White and punched with the 2″ Circle Punch, then layered on a Cucumber Crush Designer Label that was cut in half and adhered to each side.
  • Two Rhinestones were colored with a Black Sharpie Pen and added to the label sides.
  • The eyes in the Spooky image were colored with Cucumber Crush Marker.

So…spooky or tame???  OK…next up on the Blog Hop is the Create with Connie and Mary website where you can sign up for our NEW AUGUST 2015 mini session, then continue on over to Mary’s blog!

August 2015 Tour de Freaks

freakwelcome2013
It’s time for a Holiday Catalog Preview Tour de Freaks brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers!  I can’t wait to see what everyone came up with using the products in the new Holiday Catalog (customers…you can begin ordering on September 1st!)  You probably just came from Dawn Olchefske’s blog...love her projects, don’t you?

I chose to do a Halloween theme for my Holiday Preview projects…I told you I bought ALL the Halloween stamps, didn’t I?  lol!  I can’t resist!  So…I made a decorative Halloween frame with a matching card using the fun set, Witches’ Night!  It goes with the Witching Decor Project Kit that I need to make up soon!

August 2015 Witches' Night
Here’s a closeup of the Halloween Frame:

August 2015 WItches' Night Frame

  • The shadowbox frame is 5 x 7 and I used two patterns from the Happy Haunting DSP in the background, with Black Glimmer Paper to hide the seam.  They were layered on Basic Black cardstock.
  • The Witches’ Night greeting was stamped twice…once with Tuxedo Black Ink and once with Tangelo Twist Ink, then cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits.  The center greeting of the Tangelo Twist one was cut out and adhered over the Black one with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • BOO! from Boo To You Framelits was cut from Black Glimmer Paper and two googly eyes added to the OO!
  • And in the next photo you can see that I wrapped the precut Spider Web Doily around the outside edge of the frame, and hung a spider from Linen Thread from the web.

And the card, I basically used all the same elements, cut down to card size…so you can see the dimension a little better here.

So, do you like?  I’m happy with how they came out and can’t wait to put the frame in my holiday display this year!

Next up on the Tour de Freaks is Judy DiScipio, and I’m sure you’ll love her projects!  Then continue around the tour until you get back here!

I wonder how many of you demos have noticed the set A Little Something in the Holiday Catalog?  It is SO cute, but kind of gets overlooked with many of the OTHER great sets in there, don’t you think?  So…today’s card features this adorable little set on my card!

A Little Something
Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tangelo Twist cardstock.
  • On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic Black cardstock with a 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 layer of the Happy Haunting Designer Paper on top of it.  Love that spider web pattern.
  • A coordinating 1 x 4-7/8 strip of the striped pattern in Happy Haunting was added down the left side.
  • The Spider Web Doilies was cut in half and bumped up against the strip of DSP.  (TIP:  I also cut off those little extra wrought-iron looking pieces on the ends to make it fit a little better.)
  • Trick or Treat from A Little Something was stamped on Very Vanilla with Tuxedo Black Ink and punched with the 1-3/8 Circle Punch, then layered on a 1-1/2 Circle Punch of Basic Black.  The words and pumpkins were colored with the Tangelo Twist Stampin’ Write Marker.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For a finishing touch, the Basic Black Button was tied with Linen thread and added along the bottom left of the greeting.

Like it?  I really do!  OK…don’t forget to go over to Create with Connie and Mary to sign up for our August Mini Session!

Tee Hee Hee meets Cutie Pie

Happy Halloween!  It was Beggar’s Night last night for us and I was afraid I would run out of candy!  I bought 10 bags of different candy bars and we only have 2 candy bars left in the basket.  Well, my hubby and I may have sneaked 1-2 for ourselves!  That’s why I never buy candy early!  Speaking of Cutie Pies…how about pictures of my grandkids in their costumes?

Carter with mom and dad in his puppy dog outfit.  We’ll see him tonight for more trick or treating at the mall.

Carter Halloween 2014 small

Quinn with her “Daddy’s Under a Spell” costume…can’t believe she is 3 weeks old as of yesterday!  She’s my cutie pie!  I get to see her and snuggle today, too!

Quinn Halloween 2014 small

And here’s a Halloween card that one of my downline sent me.  I love how her mind works…so creative!  She combined the Tee Hee Hee stamp set with the “retired” Cutie Pie stamp set.  I’m still hoping that they bring that one back since I have a grand-daughter now!  I have the current boy set that matches!  She cut down the Circle Card Thinlet to a smaller size and used the Motley Monsters DSP with it, too.

Tee Hee Hee Cutie Pie

And here is the inside.  (I scrubbed out her note to me on the inside, that is why it looks a little weird.)   Isn’t that fun?  One of the best things about the Tee Hee Hee stamp set is that “all about the shoes” greeting and witch’s boots and love how she pulled this all together!

Tomorrow (Saturday) we have another Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop, so make sure you stop back!

HolidayCollectionBadgeWe are working in Week 3 of the Holiday Collections 2014 over on Create with Connie and Mary and it’s not too late to join!  Don’t miss out on joining us for some FABULOUS ideas using Christmas and Winter stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog!  For only $29.95 US, you’ll get over 24 project tutorials with full directions and photos!

SUOC108 Freaky Friends

The theme over on SUO Challenges this week is “The Treat’s the Thing”.  Of course, so close to Halloween, I naturally thought of Halloween treats so made my little holder with Stampin’ Up!’s Freaky Friends!  Can you tell what I used?  Yep!  I used a portion of the Curvy Keepsake Box!  Isn’t that fun?

SUOC108 Freaky Friends

Here are the details:

  • I used Tangerine Tango cardstock and cut two pieces that were about 3 1/2″ wide and cut just the side of the box that had the loop handle at the top.
  • I trimmed the bottom of both pieces so that I could overlap and adhere them.
  • I used the Large Polka Dot Folder and embossed both sides with it.  Inside the large circles, I stamped the eyes from Freaky Friends with Tuxedo Black Ink on the front and back.
  • I punched a moon with the 1 3/4″ circle punch from Crushed Curry cardstock and sponged Tangerine Tango Ink around the edges, then stamped Ghoulish Greetings with Tuxedo Black Ink on it.
  • I stamped the cat and two bats with Tuxedo Black on scrap Whisper White, then cut them out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • To close, I tied Black Bakers Twine around it and tied a bow.
  • The holder will hold 1 or 2 mini candy bars like shown!

Isn’t this a fun and spooky treat holder???  I love using that Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlet in a little different way!  Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations over on SUO Challenges!
