Just Beachy – LNS Sketch Challenge

Today I worked on the Late Night Stampers Sketch Challenge for the week!  It is one of Mary Jo’s TSSC19 original sketches,  It is a really nice sketch, so I thought I’d have a little fun with it and I pulled out my Just Beachy stamp set.  I’m sad this set will NOT be in the new catalog…so if you want it, get it now!  I made this card for my nephew’s birthday card.  He will be turning 14!  I thought he’d get a chuckle out of it.  It also uses another retiring set, It’s A Sign, for the Prepare to Party words.

I started with a base card of Summer Sun.  I ran the Whimsy Jumbo Wheel with Ballet Blue ink over the Brilliant Blue cardstock to make "bubbles" and layered it on the base card.  I cut smaller layers of Tangerine Tango and Green Galore and layered them together on top of the Brilliant Blue.  I stamped Be Prepared to Party from It’s A Sign with Basic Black on Green Galore and cut out around the shape.  I stamped each of the fish from Just Beachy with Basic Black on Whisper White, colored them with markers and punched them with 1" circle punch.  I adhered all of them to the Tangerine Tango layer.  Finally, I wrapped some Tangerine Tango Striped Ribbon (still available on sale!) and tied a knot bow.  I love how this turned…so bright and fun!

I’m experimenting with my PhotoShop Elements and camera.  When you get this, please let me know if the file is HUGE in your email (larger than normal) by leaving me a comment.  Thanks!

Have a great day!  I’m finishing up details for my Punch Class tomorrow.  I’ll try to get something scheduled to post, but if I don’t..you’ll know why I’m missing!  lol!

WOW!! Thank you!

Oh my gosh!  The Blog Tour was a huge success!  I’ve heard so many of you who thought it was a great idea.  Don’t worry…we’ll be doing it again soon!  I know I had over 2400 visitors and over 150 comments!  Thank you for visiting!  It really gives me some warm and fuzzies to know that you appreciate the time and effort everyone went through to pull this off.  Thanks to Lucia Kaiser and Diane McCornack who organized the Tours…there were only a few speed bumps along the way due to their hours of effort in making sure it ran smoothly!

Now…I know I promised to reveal the winner of the Blog Candy…but I’d really like to read through the comments and enjoy them…if you don’t mind?  I’ll have my hubby pull a number when he gets home from work this evening…so check back!

In the meantime…here is another set I love in the Occasions Mini Catalog…Just Beachy!  It reminds me of my childhood!  My parents had one of those Woody Station Wagons when I was growing up…you know…with the faux wood grain along the side!  For my card, I used the LNS Sketch Challenge (Late Night Stampers) from last week that I didn’t get done in time.  I saved it because it is a cool sketch!

I started with a base of Regal Rose and layered two different patterns from Sweet Always Designer Paper (I actually layered the patterns on Whisper White to give them some stability to hold together).  Then I wrapped the 5/8 Regal Rose ribbon around top to bottom.  I covered the seam between the patterns with 1/2 circles punched from Pumpkin Pie.  I stamped the Woody in Basic Brown and used my Blender Pen and markers to color it in with Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and the surf board in Regal Rose.  I layered this piece on Chocolate Chip.  Finally, I added another loop of Regal Rose ribbon at the top to make a flat bow.  I like it!

Well…I’m off to a dentist appointment today and hopefully I’ll get a chance to stamp this afternoon!  I have some prep to do, too, as soon as my order gets here today!  And…I need to read thru the comments!  Thanks again, everyone…

Just Beachy

This is another new set, Just Beachy, in the Occasions Mini that I thought was SO fun!  It is my first time playing with it.  There is a matching Jumbo Wheel, Lazy Days, too!  I love the old fashioned car/wagon (I forget what they called them) with the surfboard on top…and the fish crack me up!  When I was small, my parents would take us to Lake Louise (in Illinois) to swim, and I remember the little fishes coming up and nibbling on us!  My brother hated it, but I just laughed.

Mary and I were playing challenges last night, and I told her I needed to complete this assignment, so we both did it.  This card is for an online buddy, Mary Jo, for a challenge!  We were to use this sketch from Verve.  It actually turned out to be quite an easy one to use!

I started with a base of Baja Breeze cardstock and added a layer of Sahara Sand.  Then I cut a shorter piece of Not Quite Navy and scalloped the bottom.  Then I used a piece of the new Walk in the Park Designer Paper and scalloped the bottom of it, too, so it lined up with the layer underneath.  I added two lengths of Khaki Taffeta Ribbon (hmmm, it sort of looks like the road, huh?)  I stamped the car/wagon on Whisper White in Basic Black and colored it in with my markers and blender pens (I don’t know why the car looks a different blue in the picture…in person it matches the Not Quite Navy!)  I also stamped part of the sun in the upper left corner.  I layered it on Sahara Sand and then Not Quite Navy…roughing up the edges with my Distressing Tool.  Finally, I added a Neutrals star burst button with linen thread to the middle of the sun and the words from Sweet Sentiments, A Note for You.

Hoping to get some more things done in my Stamp Studio today and figure out the rest of the menu for Sunday’s Easter dinner.  Have a great day!
