Twick or Tweet
Wow…I’m getting later and later posting. Hopefully I can catch up this weekend. My computer has been acting up, too, since it did a download the other day. Grrr…
Today’s card is my Design Team submission using the sketch from the LateNightStampers Challenge #41. Same sketch that I used HERE. Amazing how different it looks!
I started with a base of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and layered a 4×4 piece of Cast A Spell Designer Paper on top. I added two More Mustard mini brads to each end of a 1 x 4 strip of Old Olive cardstock, then placed it to hide the seam from the Designer Paper. I stamped the little bird from Stampin’ Up!’s Twick or Tweet stamp set on Whisper White and colored with my Stampin’ Write Markers, then sponged the edges with Basic Black ink. It was layered on Pumpkin Pie, sponged the edges, and finally layered on Basic Black cardstock. I stamped Twick or Tweet in Basic Black on Perfect Plum, then punched it with the Word Window punch and layered it on a Basic Black Modern Label punch piece. All that was added to the front of the card with Dimensionals.
I thought it turned out cute!

Simple Seasonal Thanks Gift Card Holder
I knew immediately when I saw this Simple Seasonal Thanks stamp in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini what I wanted to do with it. Every year, I make my Snowman gift tags for Christmas. This stamp is a perfect size for a gift tag! Of course, the greeting in the center wouldn’t work, so I just customized my stamp and cut the greeting out before I mounted it. I saved the greeting in case I ever wanted to use it…but now I have the perfect snowman!
And I can’t believe I forgot to post this card! It was my Control Freaks card for the Holiday Mini Catalog Swap I did back in August! It has a surprise inside…it is a GIFT CARD HOLDER!
The Real Red base of the card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Then the Bermuda Bay cardstock is 4 x 11, scored at 2 3/4 and 8. The top piece flips up and down…the bottom piece folds up and is adhered on each side, leaving it open for the gift card to slide in. I decorated the top flap with Christmas Cocoa Designer Paper (I used the snowflake side for my swaps…this was my sample). Then stamped and cut out 26 snowman (TV work!) Each snowman I colored the hat and scarf with my Real Red and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Markers and the AquaPainter and added some white stitching on the hat with my White Gel Pen. Oops…forgot about his cheeks! I used Stampin’ Pastels. I added two Vintage Black Mini Brads for the charcoal "buttons" on the front and stamped the greeting from Sweet Season stamp set in the empty spot on his belly! He is secured to the top flap only on the top half of his body.
I could not get a good picture of the inside with the snowman flipped up…my camera focus went crazy. But this is the bottom inside of the card. Right above the Merry Christmas sign is the pocket where you place your Gift Card (below my watermark). I stamped Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Basic Brown on Sahara Sand cardstock and punched it with the Modern Label Punch. I cut a slice of Chocolate Chip cardstock for the post. And tore a piece of Whisper White cardtock to make the snowpile…I added Crystal Effects along the top of the snow and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I had a lot of fun making these!
So…what do you think? Like it? Leave me a comment!

Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge
It’s time for another Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge…SSC104. I love these sketch challenges and it sounds like a lot of you do, too! I’m anxious to see your creations…lots of flexibility with the size of the front panel. Don’t forget to link your SSC104 post to Mr. Linky…Selene gave an excellent tutorial on Stamping 411 on how to link to the individual post instead of your entire Blog. That way we can find your Sketch Challenge card easier.
I pulled out Rustic Rooster from my sad pile of retiring sets. This is a Level 2 hostess set that will be going away soon. (It isn’t too late to hold a workshop and get yours!) I started with a base card of Sahara Sand. Then I ran a Really Rust layer thru my Big Shot with the Texturz background. I used my Really Rust pad to highlight the raised texture…kind of looks like woodgrain!
For the focal piece, I stamped the background words with Creamy Caramel and then the Rooster with Basic Brown. I pulled out my DUSTY Pastel chalks and colored him with various browns and rust. I like how he turned out! I need to remember to use those more often! I matted the Very Vanilla on Chocolate Chip and then another mat of Sahara Sand. It is popped off the background with dimensionals. I used a strip of Manhattan Designer Paper across the top and matted it with Chocolate Chip. Then I couldn’t resist using the NEW Modern Label punched from Really Rust and wrapped around the DSP. I secured it with a Chocolate Chip Corduroy Button. LOVE that punch! It will be available on July 1st!
Have a wonderful weekend. Stop by this afternoon for the Tour De Freaks Blog Hop! You won’t want to miss the amazing creations from some very talented Control Freak swappers.
And…of course…check out what the others have done with the Stamping 411 sketch this week!
