Flower Centerpieces

OK, Part 4 of the wedding projects.  I was REALLY happy with how these small centerpieces turned out.  I knew the tables at the Rehearsal dinner would be full with dishes, so I wanted something fairly small and compact.  The dishes measure 8" square and 2 1/2" high.  I combined a couple different Scallop Circle flower ideas I've done in the past, with a little of the one that Lee Conrey showed me.  I wanted mine to lay flat and have small center petals so I could add the Pumpkin Pie color.  They really are gorgeous in person!  Don't worry, I have a class coming up SOON where we will be making several DIFFERENT types of paper flowers!  Mark your calendar for September 16th!

BUT…how about this…I have several of these flowers made.  If you want one of my paper flowers with the instructions on how I made mine…I'll send one to you FREE with a $40 online or email order!  Click here to visit my online website!

I found the square dish bowls at the local H**L** store…they actually are acrylic but look like glass!  I filled the bottom with the white, clear and frosted florist marbles…so bridal looking!  On top, I made the flower from Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the Flower Folds XL Die and Fancy Flower Punch with a Clear Rhinestone Brad in the center.  I used Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz over the flower to make it shimmery!  I added a couple Old Olive leaves and used the Smooch Spritz on them, too.

Here is a look at some of them sitting on my table and ready to go!

I'll be showing off another way I used one of these flowers a little later next week!

So…don't forget!  If you want one of my paper flowers with my instructions, place your $40 online or email order today!  While supplies last!

Create with Connie and Julie Challenge

Every Saturday on the  Create with Connie & Julie site we issue a challenge.  Our subscribers are encouraged to enter the challenge to win fabulous prizes!  Last week's challenge winners were Lisa Martz and Robin Gregor with Cynthia Stevenson having an honorable mention!  Congratulations, ladies!

For this week's challenge, I created another sketch for all of us to use.  This week's Occasions Mini theme included Happy Thoughts, Tote-ally Tess and Tiny Tags as our focus.  For my card, I flipped the sketch to be horizontal.

I decided to make one of the rosette flowers out of Designer Paper.  They are very easy to do!  First, I cut a circle from Sticky Pages about 1 1/4 inch in diameter.  You really don't want to use your punches because the tape will gum up your punch.  I took a 1" X 12" strip of Sending Love Designer Paper, punched with the Eyelet Border Punch along the edge and ran it thru the Crimper three times to soften it.  I took off one side of the Sticky Page liner and started gathering the strip into a circle around the edge of the tape, then moving towards the center until my paper was at the end.  Pretty easy!

The center I added one of the felt buttons from Sweet Pea Stitched Felt with a Pop-up Glue Dot.  For the card, I started with a base card of Pretty in Pink, then layered on the chocolate dotted mini flower print from Sending Love Designer Paper.  I wrapped the Chocolate Chip Striped Ribbon around to the back and secured.  I added two strips of Very Vanilla cardstock as required by the sketch, then removed the back of the Sticky Page and placed the paper flower.  I added the felt leaves from Sweet Pea Stitched Felt.  I used my Stampin' Write Markers in Chocolate Chip and Rose Red to ink up the Hello from Tiny Tags Stamp Set, stamped it on Very Vanilla and then punched with the Medium Jewelry Tag punch.

Supplies:

Stamps:  Tiny Tags (w118091, c118592)
