Touch of Kindness

It actually felt good to sit and stamp just for myself this morning for an hour.  I've been consumed with finishing up the wedding projects.  But, we are in the final countdown now!  I'll be showing the wedding stuff off next week (I hope!) on my blog!

I followed Technostamper's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge today.  This one had a lot of layers, and I used LOTS of rhinestone bling!  It sparkles!

I'm sad to see that this fun set, Stampin' Up!'s Touch of Kindness, from the Summer Mini didn't make it into the big catalog!  I love that the cat looks so much like my cat, Bleach.  Well, at least when I color the image like her!  lol! 

I started with a base of Pear Pizzazz and layered on Basic Gray that I ran thru the Big Shot with the new Houndstooth Impressions Folder!  I took my colors from the fun patterns in Nursery Nest and used two of the designer paper panels for the front of my card.  Don't forget…stock up on that Designer Paper this month!  It is Buy 3, get one FREE!  Who can resist that?  See more info HERE!  I ran a piece of Marina Mist cardstock thru the Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim XL Die and added it at the bottom…in between each scallop I placed a Rhinestone Jewel!

I stamped the cat from Touch of Kindness stamp set with Black Stazon on Whisper White and watercolored with Basic Gray and Crumb Cake, just like my Bleach.  I colored her collar Marina Mist and added a Rhinestone Jewel to the tag to make it a little more feminine!  The butterfly is Daffodil Delight.  I added the greeting, Hello, to the sun image in that same set and added it to the corner after I trimmed it out.  I added some clouds in the background with Marina Mist ink and added the ground with Pear Pizzazz.  Finally, I added a trio of large Rhinestone Jewels along the side panel.

Hmmm, now who should I send this to?  They must be a cat lover, of course!  Will need to think about that!

Sweets for the Sweet

Sorry for not posting a few days!  We are in final countdown for the wedding, so I'm BUSY, BUSY!  My oldest son and his wife come in on Thursday night, so need to find some time to clean up around here, too!  Today I hope to finish making the place cards.  Thursday we hope to fill the candy boxes, fold the programs and alphabetize the place cards!  All those last minute details!  My plans are to start revealing the wedding items I made next week on my blog!

Here is a card that I swapped with a fun group at Convention!  If it looks familiar, it IS similar to one I made for Create with Connie and Mary's challenge HERE a few weeks ago…the layout and colors are slightly different.  Funny how just changing a few things makes it look totally different, huh?

I started with a base of Wild Wasabi and layered on Whisper White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the FInial Press Impressions Folder.  I added the stripe from Just Add Cake Designer Paper…this could be one of your selections for the special this month!  I added the ruffled strip of Chocolate Chip Polka Dot Ribbon across the bottom (I LOVE that ribbon…so easy to handle!)  I stamped the pinwheels in Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and WIld Wasabi and cut them out, placing a Gold Mini Brad in the center and popping them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped Just for Fun in Chocolate Chip on Wild Wasabi and punched it with the Pennant Builders Punch.  Love it!

Pennant Parade

The new Pennant Parade stamp set and punch is SO much fun!  I love all the different things you can make with it…ice cream cones, Christmas trees, birthday hats…and, of course, pennants!

I used Technostampers Sketch today as the basis for my card!  I loved the clean lines to it.  I took my colors from the Big Top Birthday Designer Paper…although I switched out the Tempting Turquoise for Pacific Point.  I had originally thought of going with a red/white/blue theme.
 

And here is my card…

Very simple card…hmmm…I see I forgot to add the little rhinestone bling to the tassels like I intended!  Oh well!  lol!  I'll add them before I send it out for someone's birthday!

The base of the card is Real Red.  I layered on Whisper White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.  I cut two strips of the Big Top Birthday DSP at different lengths.  I punched a 1 3/4 Circle of Pacific Point cardstock.  On top, I stamped two of the "pennants" in Daffodil Delight and Real Red, then punched with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch.  I stamped the little "asterisk" in Real Red and Daffodil Delight and punched with the 3/8 Circle from Itty Bitty Punches.  I also stamped Wish Big in Pacific Point and placed along the edge of the circle.  I think it is a fun, quick and easy card…suitable for ANY age!  It has such playful colors! 

Well, I have TONS to do the next couple weeks.  Need to finish up the wedding favors, finish up the Rehearsal Dinner centerpieces and favors and get the house cleaned up for company coming in!  Plus…get ready for my Stamp Clubs this week!  Yikes!!!

Bliss

I was playing around with some color combinations last week while I was at the stamping retreat and came up with this card.  I love the bright colors using the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Bliss!

I started with a base of Poppy Parade cardstock and ran the front thru the Big Shot with the Tulip Impressions Folder.  Then I cut a piece of Sunny Garden Designer Paper and layered it on Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  Over that I stamped the flourish in Stampin' Up!'s Bliss stamp set in Pacific Point on Very Vanilla.  I punched a 1 1/4 circle from another pattern in the Sunny Garden DSP in the center.  Then on scrap Very Vanilla, I stamped the flower in Bliss with Poppy Parade and cut it out.  I placed it on the circle with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a Rhinestone Jewel to the center.  I wrapped the Pumpkin Pie Taffeta Ribbon around and tied a knot.

I stamped A Little Something from Hodgepodge Happiness (a set in the main catalog that you can get FREE during Sale-A-Bration!) in Pacific Point and punched it with the Medium Oval Punch (still available to order #120908, $10.95…last seen in the Holiday Mini).  Then I added a couple more Rhinestone Jewels in the upper corners.

Nice and bright and thinking of spring…even though we got an inch or two of snow last night!!!  Come on SPRING!

Here is a Gift Certificate Holder that I made for anyone that ordered gift certificates from me at Christmas Time!  I used the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon on it so you can see how nice it lays!

I used Always Artichoke for the base of the gift card and rounded the front corners of the flap.  I used the Deck the Halls Designer Paper and layered it on Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  I also used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the bottom of the Cherry Cobbler on the outside and on the inside flap.  The stamp images are from Stampin' Up!'s  Bells and Boughs (LAST DAY TO ORDER from the Holiday Mini!) and randomly stamped on the inside with Always Artichoke Classic Ink.  I also stamped it on scrap Very Vanilla and watercolored with Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers and cut it out, then popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped Merry Christmas from the stamp set in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and punched with the Decorative Label punch, then sponged around the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink.  Last I tied a ribbon bow from the 1/2 Seam Binding Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler for the front and attached the ends on the back.  The element was placed on the front of the Gift Certificate Holder.
