I'm starting to take orders again for ALL the Ribbon Shares and wanted to let you know that I've added the 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbons that are in the new Occasions Mini Catalog!  These ribbons are awesome for tying bows and give a unique texture to your crafting!  Since most of these colors are not available in the other ribbon varieties, they are a nice addition to round out your ribbon supplies!  Each share comes wrapped on chipboard so that they stay clean and organized for you.  You can see the details of the other Ribbon Shares and shipping information HERE! 

 

First Round orders will be placed on Thursday and subsequent rounds when full.  As soon as the ribbon is received, I will cut and have it in the mail to you!

Here is a Gift Certificate Holder that I made for anyone that ordered gift certificates from me at Christmas Time!  I used the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon on it so you can see how nice it lays!

 

 

I used Always Artichoke for the base of the gift card and rounded the front corners of the flap.  I used the Deck the Halls Designer Paper and layered it on Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  I also used the Scallop Trim Border Punch along the bottom of the Cherry Cobbler on the outside and on the inside flap.  The stamp images are from Stampin' Up!'s  Bells and Boughs (LAST DAY TO ORDER from the Holiday Mini!) and randomly stamped on the inside with Always Artichoke Classic Ink.  I also stamped it on scrap Very Vanilla and watercolored with Always Artichoke, Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers and cut it out, then popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I stamped Merry Christmas from the stamp set in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and punched with the Decorative Label punch, then sponged around the edges with Cherry Cobbler ink.  Last I tied a ribbon bow from the 1/2 Seam Binding Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler for the front and attached the ends on the back.  The element was placed on the front of the Gift Certificate Holder.

Serene Snowflakes

Life is kind of crazy here…trying to get the initial planning done on the wedding.  Since I'm in town I get to be more involved in the planning, which is FUN, but again time-consuming.  We are sitting in pretty good shape now with reception location nailed down.  Next up is Save the Dates to be designed and sent out!
 

So…onto my card!  Here is a card that I made with my technique class last month.  I got the idea from Dawn Olchefsky who calls it Clear Block Stamping.  I love the subtle look of the block inked in the background!  I switched up her fall card to a Christmas/Winter card!

 

 

The base card is Marina Mist cardstock and I layered on Night of Navy.  The main layer is Whisper White.  I inked up the square D Clear Mount Block with Marina Mist, then stamped off on scrap paper, then inked up the edges with Night of Navy ink and stamped on Whisper White.  In the top left and lower right corners I stamped off with Marina Mist ink and the smallest snowflakes from Stampin' Up!'s Serene Snowflake stamp set.  I stamped the largest snowflake full-strengh with Marina Mist and the next size snowflake full-stength with Night of Navy.  Inside the large snowflake I placed a Silver Glimmer Brad for some sparkle!  I added the greeting from Many Merry Messages with Night of Navy Ink.

 

I wrapped some Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon around and tied a knot on the front.  This is a pretty quick and easy holiday card to make!  Not a lot of bulk on the front so it is easy to mail!

 

Well…I have to get in my Studio today and get some things done!  Deadlines are creeping up on me!  lol!

Halloween Name tag lanyards and bag tags

I was inspired by Becky Roberts who made name tag lanyards for her guests.  My upline, Candy, and I held a large Fall Festival Stamp Camp last weekend and I made these punch art name tag lanyards and matching bag tags for each of the guests.  Of course…did I PHOTOGRAPH all of them together?  No, I just never seem to remember to do that!  They did look pretty cool hanging from the bags along with the bag tag identifier!

 

So…while watching the Ohio State football game last weekend, I was busy punching and adhering these together!  The moon is the 2 1/2 circle from So Saffron.  I sponged Tangerine Tango around the edges.  I punched two Bats from Basic Black and added a Rhinestone Jewel to their heads.  I typed out all the names on the computer, printed on Basic Gray, then punched with the Scallop Oval punch (I was going for a "dark cloud"…did I succeed?)   This was my prototype, so I stamped the word Boo from the Charming stamp set in Basic Black, but decided not to use it.  I cut lengths of 1/4 Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain Ribbon to hang around the neck and secured it to the tag with an Antique Mini Brad.

 

I thought they were a lot of fun…and people who attended really liked them!

Got Treats?

Stampin' Up!'s Got Treats? stamp set was on my very first order of the new catalog.  But…this card was the first time I used it.  It was originally made for a Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge a few weeks ago, but when I made my Convention swap cards using the same sketch I REALLY liked it, so used that card for my Create Challenge!  (You can see it HERE!)

 

 

 

I picked my colors from the original Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper (still available in the Summer Mini until the end of the month!)  I used Daffodil Delight for the base of the card.  Next I layered on Pretty in Pink cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.  I added three narrow strips of Pear Pizzazz cardstock along the left side, then a piece of the floral designer paper pattern from Pawsitively Prints I.   I rounded the corners first. 

 

For the focal piece, I inked up the Cupcake image from Got Treats? with my Stampin' Write Markers in Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink and Pear Pizzazz and stamped on Whisper White.  I punched it with the 1 3/8 Circle Punch, then layered it on Pear Pizzazz Scallop Circle.  I pierced each of the scallops.  I added a yellow Flower Brad next to the Cupcake image, then a shiny Rhinestone Jewel in the center of the brad!  Love that look!  Finally, I added a bow of Pear Pizzazz Ribbon to the front!

Tropical Party

Whew…the Wedding Reception is OVER and I'm SO thankful it went well.  Other than forgetting to bring containers to put leftover food, I did a pretty good job of remembering everything I had to take to the party house!  And really, other than fruit, we didn't have a lot of extra food left over!  It was a bigger group than I anticipated!  BIG thanks to my friend, Sue, for her help with the food…always a bigger job than you can anticipate!  Everyone raved about the food, so it was a success!  Here is a picture of the happy couple with their wedding cake.

 

Gosh…I feel like I've been neglecting my Summer Mini stamps since the new catalog came out and now I have the Holiday Mini products in my hands, too!  Since the Summer Mini only runs thru the end of August, today I thought I'd feature Stampin' Up!'s set, Tropical Party, that is one of my favorites!  I followed Mary Jo's Monday's Lunchtime Sketch Challenge (TSSC135) to get me started.

 

And here is my interpretation:

 

I thought the words from the stamp set, Level 1 Hostess set, Afterthoughts, was pretty funny with the Coconut Drink image from Tropical Party!  I started with a base of Old Olive cardstock.  I used the umbrella pattern from Island Oasis Designer Paper and layered it on Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  I used another pattern from Island Oasis DSP for the polka dots, then layered that on Old Olive.  I tied the new Pumpkin PIe Taffeta Ribbon around to the front and tied with a knot. 

 

I inked the Just for You image with Rose Red, then used Tempting Turquoise Marker for the "…so you don't have to share"…words and stamped it on Whisper White.  I layered it on Old Olive.  The coconut drink, I stamped on Whisper White with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, cut it out, then placed it on a 1 3/8 circle of Rose Red cardstock.  Fun!

Happy Moments

 

I made this card for a small swap I was in at the end of December.  I love using the Scallop Square die for the base of my card!  In this case, it is a cardfront, so I only used one layer of the Scallop Square.

I started with a base of Old Olive cardstock and ran it thru the Big Shot with the Scallop Square die.  I stamped the tree limb image from Cheep Talk on a square of So Saffron Patterns Designer Paper, then stamped the bird cage from Stampin' Up!'s Happy Moments Sale-A-Bration set in Chocolate Chip as if it were hanging on the limb.  I added a small Gold Mini Brad as a hanger.  Then I stamped Love You Much from Well Scripted in Chocolate Chip in the bottom right corner.  This piece was layered onto Chocolate Chip cardstock. 

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla and used the Scallop Trim Border Punch (another Sale-A-Bration option!) along the right side.  I used my Paper Piercing Tool to punch holes along each of the scallops.  I wrapped some Kraft Taffeta Ribbon around the left side and adhered it to my base card.  That bird cage is my favorite stamp in that set!
