IM4 – Party Pandas

Today’s Inspiration Monday photo could have led me in several different directions, but for some reason a black color scheme stood out to me.  And that led me to finally ink up my Party Pandas stamp set…one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration selections!  It has been a popular one!

Here’s my card.  I supposed I should have used pink…but really wanted more of a traditional red Valentine for my grandson!  (And, honestly, the inspiration photo looked red on my phone screen at first glance!)

Stampin’ details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Real Red is embossed with the Sequins Embossing Folder.  On top a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Petal Passion Designer Paper was adhered with a 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Red Glimmer Paper across it.
  • The panda was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Oval Shape.
  • Love You was stamped with Real Red Ink and the oval was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Red Glimmer Heart was cut from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and adhered over the balloon image.

Isn’t that fun!  I hope my grandson likes it!  Now to get the rest of the grandkids’ cards done!  lol!  Check out what Mary did with this inspiration over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – It’s a Sale-A-Bration

Well, it has been a LONG process, but finally think my dad will get to go home today!  His quadruple by-pass surgery was December 6th…it has been a whole month of slow progress, setbacks and rehab.  He still has a lot of strength to gain back and will need home health nurses and PT/OT people to come to the house for a little while before he starts his formal cardiac rehab.  But…we are very thankful!  Thank you for your prayers!

WOOHOO  Sale-a-Bration has begun and the new Occasions Catalog is live!  How many of you would say this is your FAVORITE time of year?  Love getting FREE product with a $50 order, don’t you?  Stampin’ Up! has an awesome lineup of SAB products this year, too!

It is Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is “It’s A Sale-A-Bration and  Design Team could choose to use what product to use!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Peekaboo Peach cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, I drew a pencil line across towards the top.  I lined up the flower image and stamped three times across the top of the line with Peekaboo Peach Ink and twice under the line (flower upside down).
  • The centers were stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink.
  • The sprinkles were stamped off with Tip Top Taupe Ink.
  • The 1/8″ Whisper White Ribbon in the Occasions Catalog was placed across the front down the pencil line and adhered in the back.
  • The greeting from Avant Garden was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the second from smallest Layering Oval Framelit, then adhered to the second from smallest scallop Layering Oval of Basic Black cardstock.  They are popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

SUPER easy card, but I really love how it turned out!  Continue on the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop to check out the details for our January Mini Session on the Create website, then continue around to Mary Brown’s and the Design Team’s blogs to see what they have done for you this week…or go backwards to see Melissa Davies’ card! Enjoy!

  • A layer of 4 x 5-1/4 Basic Black is layered on top.

  • The background was lightly sponged with Soft Sky and a sponge dauber.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop SAB Tags

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  The theme this week is Sale-A-Bration tags!  Honestly, I’m not much into using tags except on Christmas packages, so I wanted to make a tag that I could just pop onto a card or gift bag and it would be good to go!  This one using the SAB set, What I Love, came together VERY easily!

What I Love

Here are the details:

  • The base is the largest Lots of Tags Framelit cut from Mint Macaron cardstock.
  • On top is a 1-1/2 wide strip of Birthday Bouquet DSP, cut to the width of the Framelit.
  • A 1/8″ strip of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper was added to the bottom of the DSP.
  • At the top a 1/8″ Circle was punched for the Whisper White Satin Striped Ribbon, then tied with Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine in a bow.
  • The flower from What I Love stamp set was stamped 4 times with Calypso Coral Ink for the outline image, then Blushing Bride stamped off once for the larger filler image and full strength for the smaller filler image.  Two were cut out by hand completely, and two the centers were cut out then placed on top of the full images with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  In the center are the yellow It’s My Party Enamel Dots.  The two flowers were added to the front of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The leaves image was stamped three time with Mossy Meadow Ink, then cut out and adhered behind/around the flowers.
  • Finally, the Know What I Love from the stamp set was stamped with Mossy Meadow under the DSP at the bottom of the tag.

I think it turned out really pretty!  OK…next up is Mary Brown…her tag will be fabulous, of course!  You can also go backwards to Melissa Davies’ blog!  Enjoy all the SAB tags our Create with Connie and Mary Design Team has for you!
