Snow Friends & Tin of Tags

Merry Christmas!

Here’s my Christmas card for this year, I made about 60 of them!  Again, I went with a Crumb Cake and Real Red combination…it just goes so well with the white Snowman!  And I always do a snowman or snowflake theme every year!  I wanted a more modern, stylized snowman look for my card this year and I think I accomplished that!  I had about 4 versions before I settled on this one.

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • Stamp the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock with the greeting from Tin of Tags with Real Red Ink, and then emboss with the Snow Flurry Embossing Folder.
  • Cut a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, then cut it in half lengthwise with a curvy pattern so you get two pieces approx 3/4 x 4.  Adhere one to the bottom of the Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Cut the Snow Friends Framelit from Whisper White, the hat from Basic Black and adhere to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Punch the heart with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch from Red Glimmer Paper and adhere on snowman.
  • Cut a 1/8″ strip of Red Glimmer Paper, add to hat and trim off excess.

I love how this turned out!  You can duplicate this card by purchasing the Stampin’ Up! products at my online store…just click on the photos below!  Thanks!

SUOC161 Thankful Turkey

The theme this week on SUO Challenges this week is Celebrations of All Kinds!  Make sure to stop by the SUO Challenges blog…we have a NEW look!

With attention in the retail stores going from Halloween to Christmas, Thanksgiving seems to be getting squeezed out!  So, I thought I’d bring a little celebration with my Thanksgiving card so the holiday isn’t forgotten!  I LOVE how my turkey turned out!  Can you tell what I used for the body?

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cajun Craze, folded in half.
  • On top, the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake is embossed with the Pretty Paisleys Folder.
  • The body of the turkey is the Snow Friends Framelit snowman shape cut from Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The legs are the snowman arms cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  The beak is a triangle cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock.  The wattle along the beak is the holly framelit from the same Snow Friends Framelit Set cut in half.
  • The eyes are the small circles in the Cookie Builder Punch from Whisper White cardstock and colored with a Basic Black Marker.
  • The “feathers” are the leaves from May Flower Framelits cut from Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, and Real Red cardstock.
  • Thankful banner from Acorny Thank You was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on Whisper White and hand cut then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

What do you think?  I love how it turned out!  OK…go check out the new blog look and see what our Design Team did with the Celebration theme this week over on SUO Challenges!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Gift Card Holder

WI15SatHopWelcome

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop!  This week’s theme is Christmas Gift Card Holders!  I love giving a gift card or certificate in something special.  This pocket holder for Stampin’ Up!’s gift certificates are my favorite to make!  Of course, I’m using the Snow Friends framelits…even looks cute without the stamp set!  I was inspired by a card that Janet Wakeland made using just the cut out snowman shape!

Snow Friends

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock and scored at 1-1/4 and 4-1/4.  The corners are rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.
  • A 2-1/4 x 5 piece of Merry Moments Designer Paper is adhered to the bottom portion under the flap.
  • The pocket is formed by added Tear and Tape Adhesive to the insides and then adhering the flap to the front.
  • The Cherry Cobbler piece is cut 2 x 4, then punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch and tied with some Silver Cording in a bow.  It is added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, making sure not to adhere to the back of the pocket.
  • A small Silver Metallic Doily is added to the front of the tag.
  • The large snowman from Snow Friends Framelits was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and added to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Jolly from Christmas Greetings Thinlets was added on top of the snowman with Tombow Monoadhesive Glue.
  • A green Home For Christmas Enamel Dot was placed on the top hat cut from Basic Black cardstock.
  • Finally, the greeting from Embellished Ornaments was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on the flap of the pocket.

I think my customers who buy gift certificates this month will LOVE this holder, don’t you?

CCMC379 Snow Place

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  I love the sketch this week!  All different ways you can go with it as you can see from our challenge team entries!  So…grab your stamps and play along!

Here’s the card I made…love the little snowman in the set, Snow Place!  To me he looks like he is playing dress-up with that big Top Hat and Bow Tie!  lol!

Here are the details to recreate this card:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red, folded in half.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Merry Moments Designer Paper (have I said how much I LOVE this paper for Christmas before?  lol)
  • The 2-1/2 Circle is Real Red, the 2″ Circle is Old Olive, stamped with the words, Snow Way from Snow Place.  The Snowman, also from Snow Place, is stamped with Tuxedo Black on Whisper White, the arms with Chocolate Chip and then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch and layered on the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle of Silver Glimmer Paper.
  • The Snowman is highlighted with a Soft Sky Marker, the bow tie is stamped with Real Red Ink, the hat with Tuxedo Black Ink and the holly was inked with Real Red and Old Olive Markers.  All were cut with the Snow Friends Framelits.  This circle was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • For a final touch, the Home for Christmas Designer Button was tied with White Bakers Twine in a bow and added to the front with Mini Glue Dots.

That’s it!  A snowman, some sparkle…what Christmas cards are made of, right?  OK…check out the rest of the Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary and see what they did this week!

But getting back to my card!  This is the card I did for my Control Freaks Christmas Card Swap last month!  And, believe it or not, I didn’t use the snowman image because the penguin is just as cute!

Snow Place CF Swap

The details for recreating this card:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red, folded in half.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White is embossed with Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
  • A 1/2 x 5 strip of Merry Moments Designer Paper was place across the front.
  • A 3-1/2 x 3 piece of Smoky Slate cardstock was cut at an angle along the bottom and some Whisper White added for the iceberg.
  • The Penguin was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Crushed Curry marker on the beak and feet, then cut with the Snow Friends Framelits.  The tie was stamped with Real Red and cut with the Framelits, too.
  • The Candy Cane was stamped with Real Red and used as the sign post.
  • Time to Chill was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Real Red and punched with the Washi Tape Punch, then added to the sign post with a Mini Brad.

Isn’t that a FUN card?  I really loved how it turned out!  Hope my fellow Control Freak Swappers enjoyed it, too!
