FMS30 – Island Floral
Well, I went REALLY easy with this card! Isn't that Big Shot wonderful? I haven't used Island Floral Die in a while, so pulled it out to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch challenge this week! The layout just screamed FLOWER to me! I haven't played along in SO long…missed doing their challenges!

Here's my card!

I started with Melon Mambo cardstock. I layered on some YUMMY Summer Smooches Designer Paper…love that Chevron design! I added Basic Black cardstock punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Then cut the Island Floral from Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo center with Lucky Limeade leaves behind it, embossed with the Snow Burst Impressions Folder. I added Summer Smooches brad (only available THIS month…it will NOT be in the new catalog, so make sure you order it!) Finally, I stamped Thanks So Much with Basic Black on Whisper White and cut the flag end. It's from Three Little Words stamp set.
Hope you enjoy! Have a great weekend!
Easy Events
Easy Events stamp set was one of the FREE ones that I received for attending Convention last year. I had not mounted it yet…I know! After I started playing with it, I do find that I REALLY like it. It is a great set for beginners, too. I always like stamp sets that have words and images in the same set together. On this one, I customized the way I mounted them on wood. Some images that I thought I would only use together, I kept together. Other ones, I cut off the greeting to use separately. Isn't it nice that Stampin' Up! gives us the option of mounting them the way WE want?
I liked the Create with Connie and Mary sketch last week so much that I made another card using the sketch. I had cut out this little ducky image using a technique called "Outside the Box" that I showed last night at my Technique Class. This was the option of using punches to do the technique. They did a card using the Label Framelit. Both ways are basically the same except for the cutting mechanism. See how the little umbrella is outside the circle? I think it was Nance Leedy that showed how to do this technique with punches!

The base of the card is Whisper White. I added Lucky Limeade Patterns Paper, layered on Basic Black cardstock. I wrapped the 1 1/4" Striped RIbbon (available in my RIBBON SHARES HERE!) and secured it to the back. I gathered one end and tied a bow with Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine.
I stamped the Ducky with Black Stazon, then I used Stampin' Write Markers in So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and More Mustard to color the duck, and Lucky Limeade and Always Artichoke for the umbrella, Pumpkin Pie for the beak. I added highlights with a White Gel Pen. The Ducky is punched with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and layered on 2" Basic Black circle. I added both of them to the Pennant Medallion of Always Artichoke. It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals! I added the trio of large Rhinestone jewels along the top of the circle as the sketch showed.
I wish I knew someone having a baby that I could send this to right now! lol!

Bright Blossoms 2
I'm still having fun with my Bright Blossoms stamp set, one of the Summer Smooches items! The Summer Smooches ensemble is a sneak peek special this month for customers to order something just this month that will be in the new catalog coming out June 1st!

While cleaning out my studio supplies in preparation for getting my new cabinets, I ran across a package of these Beveled Windowpanes. They are a fun little accessory and I had only used a couple of them out of the package. I thought it was time to get another one out and play with it! I like how they kind of magnify the image behind it and make it seem more prominent and important!
The base of the card is Lucky Limeade (I can't believe I let myself get down to only a couple sheets of this! I had to hurriedly order MORE…love this bright green!) I layered on Sahara Sand and then the chevron pattern from Summer Smooches Designer Paper. I stamped the leaves from Bright Blossoms upside down for a little different twist on it. I wrapped the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon around the Sahara Sand to the front. The flower vase was inked with Stampin' Write markers of Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight on Whisper White, then I lined up the Beveled Windowpane on top of it and cut slits with my craft knife. The ribbon was fed up thru the back of the stamped image and thru the windowpanes to hold it in place. I tied off the ribbon on each side with Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine. Finally, I stamped Happy Birthday from Family Reunion stamp set in Poppy Parade ink.
It came together pretty quickly and I can't wait to send it off to the recipient when it is their birthday!

Happy Easter – Mixed Bunch!
Happy Easter!
I like to make little favors to put in my monthly Stamp Club order bags. I don't do it EVERY month, but I do try to hit the holidays at least! I so appreciate the fact that they support my business…and have become wonderful friends! Hi gals!!!
Here is what I did this month to celebrate Easter. I saw the Mixed Bunch flower punched with the Extra Large Oval to make pretty decorated Easter Eggs. And, the hostess only designer paper, Cheerful Treat, has perfect Easter colors! Then, since I have a TON of Melon Mambo cardstock left over from doing wedding invitations, I used that as my base color. I think they turned out SO cute!

The base of the candy holder is cut with the largest size Label Framelit. I scored two lines 3/4" apart in the center area to hold the candy in place. I wrapped it around the candy and held it together with a Sale-A-Bration brad (hope you got some of those yourself!) I added the strip of Cheerful Treat Designer Paper along the front. Then stamped the Mixed Bunch filigree flower in Crushed Concord and punched with the Extra Large Oval, I added a pearl in the center. I added it to the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped Happy Easter from Delightful Dozen in Crushed Concord.

Here they are all lined up and ready to put in bags! Inside is a yummy Caramel filled Chocolate Egg!

Hope you have a WONDERFUL and blessed Easter!

I love the name of Stampin' Up!'s April Promotion…Summer Smooches. Since Summer is my FAVORITE time of the year…yes, I love hot weather…it puts me in mind of all the fun activities to do in the summer. The cute little set, Bright Blossoms, is just SO fun and fits my idea of summer. AND…that Summer Smooches Designer Paper is so bright and cute and wonderful, I know it will be a favorite of mine. Fabric Buttons, Fabric, a new PURSE die, ribbon, a Decor Elements Stencil…just look at all those yummy things! Stampin' Up! is giving YOU, our customers, a chance to get the Summer Smooches products early in April, prior to it being released in the big catalog on June 1st! So…take advantage and order yours today! You can see a color flyer HERE! And place your ONLINE ORDER at my website HERE!
This was my Control Freaks swap card I made last month. Now I've seen all KINDS of really CUTE ideas that I love using the Bright Blossoms stamp set, but when I got this set there weren't many samples out there at all, so we all were creating without any ideas. I was amazed to get the swaps back in the mail and they all were SO different, even using the same set of products and stamp set!

I structured my card to use mostly the Summer Smooches family of products. I used a base of Daffodil Delight cardstock and layered on Baja Breeze cardstock. Then I cut a 4×4 square of Summer Smooches Designer Paper (did you know that you can get 9 pieces out of a 12×12 sheet of DSP using that dimension?) for the bottom of the card. I used a piece of the new Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon across to hide the seam. I stamped the Bright Blossoms image, inked up with markers, on Whisper White and cut with the Label Framelits. It is popped up on the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. Then, I added a little Boho Blossoms flower punched from the Summer Smooches Designer Paper and a mini brad along side the Label. Finally, I stamped "I'm Here For You" from Petite Pairs in Island Indigo ink next to the image.
Isn't it a FUN and cheerful card with those bright colors? I think so!
Best Dad Ever
Oh my…things are definitely shaking up around here. I spent most of the weekend clearing out my "temporary" quarters in my studio so they could install the flooring today and tomorrow. EVERYTHING had to come out of it AGAIN! But they are working on it and it is looking great! I'm going to be SO happy when it is done! It looks great with the NEW painted walls! But…all this moving and shuffling of stuff is really cramping my creativity and card making. Well, that and the 130 wedding invitations and taxes that I'm working on, too! But I do have a card to share that I did at the retreat a couple weekends ago!

This was another set that I hadn't opened and mounted. I got it mainly because my father-in-law at one time had TONS of ties! It just reminded me of him! It does make a great masculine card…and I love the greetings in it! So, I have an early start on my Father's Day cards! lol!
I started with a base of Cajun Craze cardstock. I layered on Well Worn Designer paper with a strip of Marina Mist cardstock tucked behind the top edge. I added a piece of Soft Suede cardstock and adhered the Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon around to the back. I stamped the ties with Cajun Craze ink on Very Vanilla, then colored the center polka dots with Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker. It is layered on Early Espresso cardstock. Then I stamped the greeting on Marina Mist with Early Espresso ink and cut a "flag" on the right edge and placed a silver mini brad on the left side thru the Soft Suede layer underneath.
I really like the Well Worn Designer Paper and have discovered that I haven't used much of it. I think the colors make it wonderful for masculine cards! Hope you enjoyed it, too!

Everybunny again!
Sorry, my stamping has been seriously curtailed with other things going on in my life. My cabinets are ordered and should be here next month. My flooring goes down in TWO weeks. I need to get everything off the walls and out of the room by then so we can patch and paint before it is installed. I settled on the old SU color Mellow Moss for my walls! I wanted Pear Pizzazz, but it just wasn't going with the stain on the cabinets…made them look too orangey. My son and his wife were here for the long weekend and we had a wonderful time visiting with them. I also am finishing up prototypes for wedding invitations I'm making for friends…was supposed to be a small wedding…75-80…that has grown to over 200! Of course, my taxes aren't done either.
You can see my list again here…HUGE RETIRED STAMP SALE!!! I'll be adding more sets and accessories as I work thru the piles of stuff I have. Thank you to everyone so far that has helped me clear off my shelves of retired stamp sets!!!
But…enough of me…
Stampin' Up!'s stamp set, Everybunny, has seriously replaced my old favorite Easter set, A Good Egg. I love the expressions on these bunnies. Here is another Easter card I made while I was on the retreat! My girlfriend had challenged me to use this image with the hot air "egg"…I hadn't used it yet.

I started with a base card of Pear Pizzazz. I ran the layer of Bashful Blue thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots folder. I added the "ground" from the In Color Patterns Designer Paper, cutting it with my Cutter Kit blade. I stamped the hot air balloon bunny in Black Stazon and watercolored with my AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers, then cut it out. What a pain to cut all those strings! lol! I popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, had the bunny throwing flowers out of the basket…I used the tiny Mini Brads in the center of the Itty Bitty Punch flowers, curling them outwards. I stamped Happy Easter Everybunny in Black Stazon on Whisper White and punched with the Modern Label punch.
Love how whimsical this card is…maybe will do a few more to send to my parents and in-laws for Easter.
Make sure to check out my RETIRED STAMP SETS for sale! Many, many thanks!
CCMC192 – Send me Soaring
I love the sketch this week over on Create with Connie and Mary. I took a little liberty as mine isn't real Clean & Simple, but it isn't hard…so I think it still fits!

And here is my card…very appropriate the past few days as it has been GREAT kite flying weather! 60s and WINDY!

I started with a base card of Real Red. I have a layer of Bashful Blue that I stamped the clouds in Baseful Blue at the top. I cut a 2 1/2" Circle and cut off the bottom portion…I was going for a stylized "world" look. Then I ran it thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice folder for some texture. I wrapped the 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon around and tied a knot. I stamped the strings for the kites in Early Espresso, then stamped the different colors of kites on Whisper White and cut them out. They are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I punched two cupcake frosting punches of Whisper White for extra clouds. Finally, I stamped Celebrate You in Early Espresso on a scrap of Whisper White, then cut a pennant tail on it, tucked behind the "world". Hope you like it…I thought it was fun!
Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary! Lots of variety using this sketch! Grab your stamps and play along! We love to see your work!
Up in the Air – FMS24
NOTE: If you haven't heard back to me on a retired stamp set you wanted (SEE HERE FOR UPDATED LIST), please email me again. We have spotty service here and I know I lost some emails!
I'm at a stamping/scrapbooking retreat this weekend and love the time to catch up on some challenges. Freshly Made Sketches is one of my favorites. They had an easy one this week (FMS24), so I decided to play along while I'm here.

I love Stampin' Up!'s hostess set, Up in the Air, so I pulled it out to use in this challenge!

I started with a base of Wild Wasabi cardstock. Although you can't see it, the So Saffron layer is embossed with the Stripes Folder for a little texture! I added a piece of designer paper from Pocketful of Posies and layered it on more Wild Wasabi cardstock. I cut a Label Framelit for the image and stamped it on Early Espresso. I carefully colored it with my AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers, adding a little while gel pen in the center…a la Karen Barber! The birdhouse I stamped again with Baja Breeze ink on Whisper White and cut it out to place over the Early Espresso one. I layered the Framelit on Early Espresso, added pearls in the corners and wrapped Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon around and tied a knot. So much fun making this card!
Have a great weekend!
CCMC191 – Everybunny
Oh, we have a fun color challenge for you this week over on Create with Connie and Mary! Wonderful SPRING colors…So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Island Indigo! We've had such mild weather, it feels like spring around here…another sunny day…very unusual for Ohio in February!

When I first saw this set in the main catalog last summer, it was on my first order…even though I knew I wouldn't use it for MONTHS yet. It is just too cute! I have some wonderful pictures of the boys coloring Easter eggs when they were little…some day I will get them scrapbooked! lol!

For this card, I wanted to try something with the Framelits. Can you tell that is what I used along the bottom of the So Saffron layer? I used the largest one and put the 4" wide So Saffron cardstock in under the cutting blade, and the other end on top of the Framelit. Then I only ran it thru far enough to cut the bottom…not all the way…I just reversed and pulled it back out. That way I got just the cut on one end. Did anyone else think of that? I haven't seen it!
My base is Whisper White. I layered on the So Saffron that was cut with the Label Framelit and embossed with Snow Burst (this is still available to order!). I added a strip of Wild Wasabi Just Add Cake Designer Paper, layered on Island Indigo cardstock and wrapped the Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon around and tied a knot.
I stamped Miss Bunny with Black Stazon, then watercolored with my AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers. I did add a little Crumb Cake color for the bunny…she couldn't be yellow or green or blue, now could she? I used one of the smaller Label Framelits to cut her out and attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped Happy Easter, Everybunny, in Black Stazon and punched with the Modern Label punch (I love how it coordinates!), then used a little clip to hold it in place at the top of the So Saffron layer!
Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary...as usual, I'm always inspired by their creations!
