Saturday Blog Hop – Punch/Framelit Art

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is “Punch/Framelit Art”…any way to use them other than the original purpose for them!  I love this theme and doing Punch Art classes.

I also love the computer mouse card I came up with for this week!  I was inspired by an SVG file I saw online and knew that I could recreate it using our Stampin’ Up! punches!

Here are the details on this card:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of A Little Foxy Designer Paper was added to the front.
  • The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Whisper White cardstock was rounded on the corners with the Corner Rounder (retiring!).
  • Two strips of Smoky Slate cardstock were hand-cut for the dividers on the computer mouse.
  • The ears were the small balloon on the Balloon Builder Punch from Blushing Bride cardstock.  The center was colored with the Clear Wink of Stella Brush.
  • The eyes were the circle from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch from Basic Black, then highlighted with White Gel Pen.
  • The nose and cheeks were punched from Blushing Bride cardstock with the Confetti Punch.
  • Strips of Smoky Slate cardstock were hand-cut for the whiskers.
  • The tail of the computer mouse is punched from Smoky Slate with the Confetti Punch.
  • The black “wheel” is also punched with the Confetti Punch and placed on the Smoky Slate divider.
  • The greeting letters were stamped with Memento Black on Whisper White with the Labeler Alphabet.  Each one was hand-cut and then glued on the DSP to make the specialized greeting!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team creations this week! I can’t wait to see what they chose to do! Next up is the Create with Connie and Mary website to see more about our April Mini Session that just opened, then continue on to Mary Brown and check out her design or head backwards to Melissa Davies!

CCMC454 – Flourishing Phrases

It’s a color challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenges!   Isn’t it pretty?

Here’s what I did…a little non-traditional for flowers, but it works!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock, a 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Tempting Turquoise Brights Collection Pattern paper was hand-cut on a curve and added to the bottom.
  • The stem from Flourish Thinlits was cut from Island Indigo cardstock and adhered to the front.
  • The flower from Flourishing Phrases was stamped twice with Flirty Flamingo Ink and hand cut, then layered on top of each other.
  • A 1/2″ Circle was punched from scrap Tempting Turquoise polka dot paper and added to the center of the flower with a Perfect White Accent in the center.  The flower is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Just a Note from the same stamp set was stamped with Island Indigo Ink.

That’s it!  Nice and clean design!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – Oh the Places we will Go

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is “Oh the Places We Will Go”…sort of a travel theme this week!  I immediately thought to use my Mediterranean Moments stamp set…it brings back great memories of being on the Stampin’ Up! Mediterranean Incentive Trip last year!  LOVED touring Europe and will definitely go back one day!

These little cafe tables and outdoor restaurants were all over Italy and Spain.  I also loved the flowers and greenery hanging from windows!  This photo was taken in Cannes with the flowering vine just hanging off the trellis!

Here are the details on this card:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 1/2 x 4 piece of Calypso Coral was added to the left side of the 3 x 4 piece of Black Stripe pattern from Neutrals Paper Pack and then was added to a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
  • The greeting from Suite Sentiments was stamped with Calypso Coral Ink in the top right corner.
  • The image from Mediterranean Moments was stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then watercolored with an AquaPainter and Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black Markers.
  • It was cut with the largest Stitched Oval Shape, then adhered to the largest oval of Basic Black Cardstock cut with the Layering Ovals.  I love that these framelits coordinate so well together!  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A piece of scrap Calypso Coral cardstock was punched with the Badge Punch, and trimmed so that only the scallop portion peaks under the oval.
  • A small piece of Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon is tied in a knot and added to the left side of the oval with a Mini Glue Dot.

Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team creations this week! I can’t wait to see what they chose to do! CCMC453 – Oh So Succulent

This week we have a fun sketch over on Create with Connie and Mary.  I just had to use the Succulent Framelits again to build a flower!

Here’s my card.  I love the white daisy look!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4×4 piece of Daffodil Delight Patterns Paper Pack was added to the front.
  • A 1/4 x 5 strip of Basic Black was added across the front.
  • The greeting from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Memento Black Ink on top of the Designer Paper.
  • Two of the medium large and one medium succulent flowers were cut from Whisper White cardstock.  Two small flowers were cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock for the center.  All were adhered together, then added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Perfect White Accent was colored with a Black Sharpie Marker and added to the center.
  • The Medium Large succulent flower was also cut from Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and two petals cut off (twice) for the leaves.  They were tucked under the flowers and adhered.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it…if I do say so myself!  Of course, I’m always lovin’ my flowers!  lol!  Check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this color combination over on Create with Connie and Mary today!

Eastern Palace Suite

I used the new Eastern Palace Suite again on my card today, I had already cut out the flower medallion when making the last card I did and didn’t use it…so turned it into it’s own card.  I LOVE the curvy verses in this set!

LOVING that new Lemon Lime Twist color!!!  SO happy!  Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide cardstock (NEW In Color!), scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Eastern Palace Designer Paper was added towards the top.
  • The largest Stitched Shape circle was cut from Whisper White cardstock.
  • The flower medallion in Eastern Medallions Thinlits was cut from Tranquil Tide cardstock, sponging the edges with Tranquil Tide Ink, then adding it to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A 1/2″ Circle was punched from some Whisper White cardstock colored with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad.  Then a Perfect White Circle for the middle.  It was added to the center of the flower medallion.
  • The little fleur image from Eastern Beauty Stamp Set was stamped around the medallion with Lemon Lime Twist Ink.  The entire circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, the greeting from Eastern Beauty Stamp Set was stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink under the circle.

LOVE it!!!  So nice to have something new to play with!

One of the stamp sets that is retiring is Helping Me Grow!  I feel like I haven’t used this set in ages.  This card was made for a sweet person who placed an order so she could make her husband’s 70th birthday invitations!  How fun!  I mailed it off with her catalog today!

Here are the details.  I love the soft lavender colors!

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sweet Sugarplum.
  • On top of that is a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Whisper White, stamped with Thanks at the bottom right in Memento Black Ink.
  • Across the front is a 1 x 4-1/4 strip of Succulent Garden Designer Paper.  (The Oh So Succulent Suite is retiring, too!)
  • The flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then watercolored with Sweet Sugarplum Marker and the AquaPainter.  While wet, the Sweet Sugarplum Marker was applied full strength and then Rich Razzeberry Marker for the centers to darken it even more.  Old Olive Marker was used for the stems.  It was hand-cut and then arranged on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Old Olive Baker’s Twine was tied in a bow around the middle stem.

Isn’t that sweet?  OK…today’s the day!  The Create with Connie and Mary April Mini Session is NOW OPEN!  Don’t miss out.  A couple of the tutorials are PERFECT for your retirement classes…and the others will still be available to use with the new catalog classes!

SUOC 172 – Stylish Stems

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Sympathy or Comfort”.  I do send out a lot of this type of card, so I can always use new ideas.

I wanted a black and white card and used just the Stylish Stems Thinlits instead of stamping.

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
  • Along the left is a 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of the Basic Black stripe pattern in the Neutrals Paper Pack.
  • The greeting from Rose Wonder stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
  • The stem and leaves were cut from Basic Black and adhered to the front.
  • The outline of the flower head was cut from Whisper White, while the detail from Basic Black cardstock and adhered together.  Then adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals above the stem.

Pretty simple, but I love the contrast an think it would be very appropriate to send to someone who needs a little comfort.  OK…make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team for SUO Challenges did this week with this theme! I’m sure they will have some great ideas!

Saturday Blog Hop – Spring Flowers

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is “Spring Flowers” this week!  It is SO nice to see the grass greening up, the daffodils and early flowers in bloom, and the trees starting to bud out.  I love this time of year…although my allergies do NOT.  Must be something with the flowering trees to cause my itchy eyes and nose!  lol!

I love the Succulent Framelits all on their own and have used them for SEVERAL of my Create projects.  Only the greeting is stamped!  Here are the details on this card:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Peekaboo Peach cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 2 x 4 piece of Sahara Sand Neutrals Designer Paper was adhered across the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
  • A length of the Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon was placed across the front and adhered in the back to hide the seam.  I am going to MISS that ribbon when it retires!
  • Cut two of the medium larger flower shapes of Succulents with So Saffron cardstock, then the two smallest sizes from Peekaboo Peach cardstock for the center.  Adhere all together, then add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Color a Perfect White Accent with Black Sharpie Marker and add to center.
  • Cut another of the medium larger flower shape of Succulent from Pear Pizzazz cardstock, then cut of two petals (twice) for the leaves.  Tuck and adhere under the flowers.
  • Stamp the Happy Mother’s Day greeting from Oh So Succulent with Memento Black Ink.

I’m SO happy with how this turned out and can’t wait to give it to my mom for Mother’s Day this year!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team creations this week! I can’t wait to see what they chose to do! Eastern Palace Suite

Wow!!!  My preorder came yesterday evening and I just got a chance to sit down and work with this new Eastern Palace Suite!  I was totally lukewarm about the set until I played with it!  Now I LOVE it!  It is totally one of those sets that you will be reaching for time and time again!  Yes…customers…I will be doing a Class Kit with this fabulous suite of products in early May!  Stay tuned!  Demos can preorder now…customers can order this suite on May 1st!

So, here is what I quickly came up with using this set…lots of NEW stuff on here!  Clean and simple, but the touches of gold in the thread and the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers pushes it over the top!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide (one of the NEW In-Colors!) cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 2 x 5-1/4 piece of NEW Eastern Palace DSP was adhered along the bottom.  Then a 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of the reverse patterned Lemon Lime Twist DSP was added along the seam.
  • On top of that is a row of the NEW Eastern Gold Vinyl Sticker, trimmed to size.  WOW!
  • Two of the “flower” medallions from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits were cut from Tranquil Tide and Dapper Denim cardstock and trimmed out.
  • Stampin’ Up! didn’t provide the new In-Color Lemon Lime Twist cardstock on this preorder, so I made my own by coloring Very Vanilla scrap paper with the ink pad.  I stamped the dotted circle (LOVE!) and the greeting from the Eastern Beauty stamp set with Tranquil Tide Ink on top, then punched with the 1-1/4 Circle Punch.
  • Before placing it in the center of the two medallion flowers with a Stampin’ Dimensional, I wrapped some Gold Thread around my fingers and added it to the back of the circle.  It is just a touch of glimmer that matches the Vinyl stickers!

What do you think???  I tell you…you will LOVE this new suite and new In Colors!!!

And…know what else you’ll love?  Our Create with Connie and Mary April Mini Session!  Here are some details!

  • The large Big On Birthdays greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the bottom.
