Dragonfly Dreams

I recently held a class using the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle.  They made three cards with matching envelopes.  A  bonus project was this little decorated Kraft Gift Bag to hold all of the cards if they wanted to give it as a gift!  I thought it turned out sweet!

Here are the details:

  • The Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bag was stamped with the dotted image in Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set with Crumb Cake Ink along the edges.
  • 1″ from the top was scored and folded backwards.
  • Strips of Urban Development Designer Paper were cut for banners with a flag end.
  • A length of Very Vanilla/Gold Metallic Ribbon (retired SAB) was folded in half, then stapled to the banners.  The banners were adhered to the front of the bag below the score line.
  • The dragonfly strip was cut with the Detailed Dragonfly Framelits from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the banners.
  • The greeting from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2″ strip of Very Vanilla, cut with a flag end, then attached to the banners.
  • A Gold Binder Clip was added to the top to hold the bag closed.
  • Linen Thread was tied in a bow on the Gold Binder Clip.

LOVE it!  This little packaging could hold SO much!  What would you put in it?

Blooms & Wishes

As the retirement list comes out later this month, I’m thinking of using my regular catalog sets more and more.  Need to give them some love since I’ve focused on the Occasions catalog for the past few months.  Here’s one I made a few months ago, but haven’t shared.  It was inspired by several cards I saw on Pinterest, and I love the Melon Mambo/black/white color with the pop of Tempting Turquoise I used here!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Melon Mambo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • Along the left side of the 4 x 5-1/4 Whisper White cardstock layer, a 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Pop of Pink Designer Paper was added to a 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Melon Mambo cardstock, then added to the Whisper White.
  • The heart was cut from Melon Mambo and the word love from Basic Black with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and added to the front.
  • Two flowers from Blooms & Wishes were stamped with Tempting Turquoise Ink on Whisper White and two leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink.  They were hand-cut and added to the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The centers were made with the end of a pencil and Basic Black Ink.

So simple yet striking, I think!  Did you know we will be kicking off our new April Mini Session soon?  Here are the details!

Love and Affection

One of my downline just promoted to Bronze Elite AND recruited, so I made up a little congrats card for her, along with mailing a little package of embellishments to her!  I used the Love & Affection stamp set with the Affectionately Yours Designer Paper for the card…the Metallic Copper looks like Bronze on this paper!  I decided to actually use it instead of hoarding it!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Watermelon Wonder cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • At the top of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock, a 2 x 5-1/4 piece of the Affectionately Yours Designer Paper was placed.
  • A band of the Affectionately Yours Washi Tape was added to hide the seam.
  • Yay! from All Things Thanks was stamped with Watermelon Wonder Ink on Whisper White, then punched with the 1-3/4 Circle Punch and placed on the Watermelon Wonder doily.  It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The flower from Love & Affection was stamped with Versamark on Watermelon Wonder cardstock, then embossed with Copper Embossing Powder and hand cut out.  A Perfect White Accent was added to the center.
  • The leaf was stamped with Versamark on Cucumber Crush an embossed with Copper Embossing Powder, cut out and placed under the flower.

It really is SO shimmery and pretty in person…and that paper was perfect to use for the Bronze Elite promotion!

Saturday Blog Hop – Easter Favors

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is “Easter Favors” this week!  I love little 3D projects, so can’t wait to see what everyone came up with this week!

Here are the details:

  • Stamp two of the largest Jar of Fun images onto Whisper White with Memento Black Ink, then cut with the Everyday Jars Framelits.  Use an aquaPainter and Pool Party Ink to watercolor the background inside the jar.
  • Stamp two jar tops with Daffodil Delight Ink on Whisper White and cut with the jar topper framelit, then add to the top of the jars.
  • Stamp the bunny, carrot and greeting with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Basket Builder Framelits.  Cut the grass from Wild Wasabi cardstock and add to the front of the jar.  Color the bunny with Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo Markers and the carrot with Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive markers.
  • Add the greeting across the top of the jar.
  • Make a box bottom by cutting a 3 x 3-1/2 piece of Whisper White and score at 1″ on all sides.  Cut the tabs and assemble the box bottom with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
  • Adhere the jars to two wider sides of the box bottom.  Wrap Daffodil Delight Baker’s Twine around the top of the jars to close and tie a bow.
  • Fill box with assorted candies!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team creations this week! I can’t wait to see what they chose to do! Next up is the Create with Connie and Mary website to see more about our April Mini Session, then continue on to Mary Brown and check out her design or head backwards to Melissa Davies!

CCMC451 Basket Bunch

It’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  I always get excited about the sketch challenges the most…find them a little easier than the color challenges sometimes!  lol!  I decided to use my Basket Bunch Bundle again since we are getting close to Easter!

And here’s my card.  I ended up really liking this color combination!  I’m really bummed that the SAB Glimmer Paper is no longer available.  Glad I got at least one package of it!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bermuda Bay cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 Pool Party layer was embossed with the Sparkle Embossing Folder (one of the FREE SAB choices that Stampin’ Up! just added!)
  • A 1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper was added across the front (no longer available).
  • A 2-3/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Very Vanilla has a 1-1/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP adhered along the left side.  Happy Easter from Crazy About You was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower right corner.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A circle Stitched Shapes Framelit was cut from Peekaboo Peach cardstock and added to the front.
  • The bunny and basket were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Blushing Bride, Peekaboo Peach and Crumb Cake Markers.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I didn’t even notice that little Easter Basket until I was working on this card!  TOO cute!  One of the grandkids will be getting this card!

OK…go check out the rest of the designs by the Challenge Team over on Create with Connie and Mary to see what they came up with this week for the sketch challenge! I can’t wait to see!

Saturday Blog Hop – Alphabet Cards

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team is showing off Alphabets as focal images on our cards!  I thought I knew what I was going to do until I actually sat down to do it…then I had SO many choices!  I wanted to use a word that we didn’t already have a large word stamp for…and since Father’s Day will be here in a couple months, I decided to do a little punch art along with my alphabet word!  I may make another one of these for my son’s birthday…he has recently started collecting old vinyl records to play on an old Victrola Record Player someone gave him.  Too funny!  Records have become trendy again!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Delightful Dijon, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock was placed on top.
  • A 2 x 5 strip of Urban Development Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Some 1/8″ Gold Metallic Ribbon hides the seam and is adhered in the back, then added to the front of the card.
  • The letters R, C, K were cut from coordinating Urban Development DSP and added to the front with Foam Adhesive Strips.
  • The record was made by punching a 2″ Circle from Basic Black cardstock, then adding a 3/4″ Circle punched from Delightful Dijon.  A Gold Metallic Enamel Shape is in the center.  The record was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • You from Crazy About You was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Delightful Dijon cardstock, then punched with the Classic Label Punch and cut off the edge.  Happy Father’s Day was stamped directly on the DSP with Memento Black Ink.

Make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team creations this week! I can’t wait to see what they chose to do!  Next up is Mary Brown…check out her design or head backwards to Melissa Davies!

  • They were all cut with the Basket Builder Framelits, along with some Mint Macaron grass for the basket.
  • 1/8″ circles of So Saffron cardstock were punched for the center of the bow and flower.

CCMC449 Balloon Adventures

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  I had a lot of fun creating with this sketch…it will definitely go into my “use another time” folder!

And here’s my interpretation…something about the panels reminded me of balloons!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tip Top Taupe cardstock.
  • Across the front is a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Party Animal Designer Paper.
  • The Whisper White panels are 1-1/4 x 3-1/4 and stamped with the balloon strings in Tip Top Taupe Ink.  They were added to the front of the card.
  • The balloons were punched with the Balloon Builder Punch out of Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, and Emerald Envy cardstock.  The overlays and bows  were cut with the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits from Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Pacific Point cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Happy Birthday was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Tip Top Taupe, then punched with the Classic Label Punch, trimmed and placed on the front.

Isn’t that a fun sketch?  Make sure to stop over at Create with Connie and Mary and see what fun designs the Design Team came up with this week!  All are so different!

High Tide

Last month for my stamp clubs, we used the stamp set, High Tide.  I love that it is so versatile for masculine cards, sympathy/comfort cards…almost any occasion!  Who doesn’t like seeing a lighthouse standing tall by the sea?  While I had all my supplies out, I decided to make up a few more designs.  Here’s one I particularly love!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A strip of Burlap Ribbon was added to the left side of a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Tasty Treats Designer Paper and added to the base card.
  • The ground was stamped with Crumb Cake Ink to the right side of the 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 Whisper White piece to place the lighthouse, then filled in with more ground images and grass.
  • A light watercolor wash of Soft Sky Ink was added above the ground for the sky.
  • The lighthouse was stamped with Dapper Denim and Crumb Cake Inks for a two-step look.
  • The beams of light are stamped with Crushed Curry Ink.
  • The greeting was stamped with Basic Gray Ink.  Only the trio of smaller birds were inked with Basic Gray, then stamped on the front.
  • The Whisper White was added to a mat of 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • A 1″ Circle was punched from Dapper Denim cardstock, folded in half around the bottom and adhered, then the piece added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Star and Circle Metallic Enamel Shapes were added for a little bling.

I also made up some of these for sympathy cards.  Hope you enjoy it!  Want more ideas?  It’s not to late to join!  We just opened the March 2017 Mini Session for Create with Connie and Mary!  Here are the details:
