Summer Splash Lemonade Glass

This was one of the cards that my Technique Class did last week!  I have been wanting to make the lemonade glass for a card for a LONG time and always thought it was complicated…silly me…so easy!  And…since Tart & Tangy is on the RETIRED LIST, I knew I had to show it soon!  If you don't have that set…it really is one of those "classic" go to sets!  Get it soon…will be gone by the end of the month!  My class LOVED it!  We talked about how to make it "flatter" so it fits in the mail, too!

I decided to make my glass card on vacation at the beach!  I started with a base of Rose Red and layered on Baja Breeze cardstock.  I sponged the top of the Whisper White with Baja Breeze Classic Ink to resemble clouds.  I added a darker line of ink along the sand line for the ocean.  The ground I used Sahara Sand cardstock and the fish bubble stamp from Summer Splash with Sahara Sand ink and randomly stamped it many times to make sand.  I sponged the torn edge with more Sahara Sand ink.  The bucket and shovel from Summer Splash were stamped with Night of Navy on Whisper White and cut out.  I stamped Thinking of You from Curly Cute stamp set in Night of Navy along the side.

The Vellum cup I cut 3 1/4 x 3 1/4, trimmed the sides on a diagonal and added Sticky Strip.  I colored the cardstock vellum with Rose Red ink at the bottom and Daffodil Delight ink along the upper portion…make sure to leave some of the clear vellum at the top so it does look like liquid in the glass.  I used Sticky Strip across the lip of the glass and added Chunky White Glitter (also retiring!) for the sugared rim.  I stamped the lemon from Tart & Tangy in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White and cut it out, then added it to the lip of the glass with a Stampin' Dimensional.  Finally, I cut a straw in half and secured it to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

I love how it turned out and really makes me WISH I were at the beach and could send this to someone!  lol!

CCMC-SUM04 Week 4 Challenge

Wow, we are at the end of Week 4 of the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition!  We are having SO much fun with the projects and ideas!  Our designers have outdone themselves this edition!  This week's challenge is another fabulous sketch!  Since we are featuring Sunny Fun, Summer Splash, and the Fish Frenzy Jumbo Wheel, I decided to use Stampin' Up!'s Summer Splash for my challenge card!

This card came together so easily that it was almost scary!  lol!  I took my colors from the plaid print in Pawsitively Prints II…a fun Poppy Parade, Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi!

The base of the card is Wild Wasabi, I layered on Poppy Parade that I used the Color Spritzer and Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker in the corners for some added texture!  I layered on the strip of Designer Paper in the background.  I stamped the surfboards in Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi and Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White, then cut them out.  I adhered them to the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle punch of Sahara Sand and that on 2 1/2 Circle punch of Wild Wasabi.  On the Sahara Sand Scallop Circle I used the Color Spritzer again with Sahara Sand Marker for the look of sand.  The center surfboard is popped up and has some Rhinestone bling, too.

For the "waves" I used my Tasteful Trim Die and Tempting Turquoise cardstock and wrapped around the 1/8 Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon and tied a knot.  It was popped with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I also repeated the waves behind the DSP and added some bling with Rhinestone Jewels in each scallop.  Finally, I added "Let's Celebrate" from It's Your Birthday in Basic Black.

I really like how fun this card is…and so much fun to make!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Designers did over on Create with Connie and Mary!  Some great ideas using this sketch!

Stamping 411 – Summer Splash

Time for another sketch challenge from Stamping 411!  This week it is a fun one, hope you join us by playing along!

I'm trying to use up my Designer Paper before the NEW catalog comes out and I want to buy more!  My card uses the designs from Blueberry Crisp…I thought they had a nice tropical feel to them that went along with the Summer Splash stamp set.

So, I started with the striped dots in the Blueberry Crisp Designer Paper package.  I felt they had a "bubbles" type feeling to them that went along with my beach theme.  I layered on another Not Quite Navy pattern in the same package using the Tasteful Trim Die to make my scallops look like waves.  I wrapped around the Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon and made a BIG bow…using the Daffodil Delight button in the center, tied with Bakers Twine.  The DSP is layered on Not Quite Navy cardstock and then a base card of Sahara Sand.

For the focal element, I stamped the sand bucket and shovel with Not Quite Navy on Very Vanilla and another one stamped with Daffodil Delight and cut out the shovel to adhere over the Not Quite Navy one.  I stamped Wish Big from Warm Wishes in Not Quite Navy under it for the greeting.  I punched out the Very Vanilla with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch, then layered it on a 2 3/8 Scallop Circle from Daffodil Delight.  I added a little Rhinestone Jewel to the bucket for some bling.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals!

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Operators did this week over on Stamping 411.  See you there!

CCMC-154 – Summer Splash

Today on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, we have a great color combination for you to try!  Anyone can play along, so grab your colors…then upload your creation over on Create with Connie and Mary!

I know I haven't used River Rock much since they brought it back, but I loved it as an In Color!  It really is a nice little neutral!  This color challenge is really FUN!

Since we are featuring Summer Splash (along with Summer Fun, Fish Frenzy, Recess and the Builder Wheels) this week over on the subscriber side of Create with Connie and Mary, I pulled out Summer Splash to use again.  I just LOVE that little octopus!

I started with the base of Elegant Eggplant for the card.  I layered on Sahara Sand, the top I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots (for bubbles…get it?) and the bottom I used the Fish Frenzy Jumbo Wheel with Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink.  I didn't have any Melon Mambo DSP that matched, so I created my own by using the Solid Stripes Background Stamp.  I tend to forget about these little background blocks…but they are a nice size for layers!  I stamped the Stripes with Melon Mambo on Melon Mambo cardstock and placed it on the River Rock cardstock.  I wrapped some White Organdy Stripe Ribbon around and tied a knot.

Then I stamped the Octopus in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White and punched with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle.  I layered it on Melon Mambo 2 1/2 Circle and added three Rhinestone Jewels in the scallops.  Finally, I stamped the greeting from Happy Greetings stamp set in Basic Black on Elegant Eggplant and punched it with the Decorative Label Punch.  I like my fishy card!

Make sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team did this week with the color combo.  Some great and different ideas as usual!

Sneak Peek and Summer Splash

Did I get your attention?  You know I'm not one for showing off NEW products until they are actually available for you to purchase, however, I have been working with the new In Colors the past couple days and just HAD to use them for Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge!

I combined the new In Colors with the cute Summer Mini stamp set, Summer Splash!  This is SUCH a fun stamp for summer…I have a couple cards coming up, too, that I've used it with again!  This is a REALLY simple card, you could make a BUNCH of them in a short time1  With all the birthdays and anniversaries I have coming up over the next month, I know I'll be sending this off to someone!

I started with a base of the new Wisteria Wonder cardstock.  I ran the front thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.  I used the Fish Frenzy Jumbo Wheel and inked it up with Pool Party Classic Ink, then ran it over the Pool Party cardstock.  I layered Pool Party on Lucky Limeade.  So…I've used THREE of the FIVE new In Colors on this card!  I stamped the "Guess Who Loves You" from Happy Greetings in Pool Party on Whisper White, then trimmed it as a banner.  I added three Rhinestone Jewels along the right.  I stamped the Octopus from Summer Splash in Lucky Limeade on Whisper White and cut him out.  He is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals and sitting on the banner!

Do you see ANOTHER sneak peek?  YES!  The Designer Printed Brads in Wisteria Wonder!  LOVE these…I got them by spinning the wheel on the Alaska Cruise!  They are so lightweight and NICE!  AND…I have a SPECIAL TREAT for you!
