CCJCC1 Color Challenge
For my Create with Connie and Julie Color Challenge card, this week’s challenge is to use Taken with Teal, Chocolate Chip and Really Rust. Well…mine has a little Really Rust in the Designer paper! You can play along! Upload your card, use CCJCC1 in the title and place the direct link in Mister Linky over on Create with Connie and Julie!
I used the small tag from the Stampin’ Up! Tabletop Settings Bigz XL Die to make a candle. That was one of the first things I noticed when I saw that die…even before I knew it was supposed to be a tag!
I cut the tag in the Big Shot with Very Vanilla cardstock and then embossed it with the Big Shot and the Finial Press impressions folder. I used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint sponged around the edges and it really does shimmer! I stacked several dimensionals on top of each other and curved the candle so it looks 3D off the card. The flame is actually the leaf from the same Tabletop Settings die. I cut it with Summer Sun cardstock and used the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint on it,too…it really shines!
I started with a layer of Taken with Teal cardstock that I used the Cutter Kit Distressing tool around the edges. Then I sponged some Basic Brown ink on the edges. I added another layer of Autumn Meadows Designer Paper. Next I placed a strip of the Taken with Teal pattern from the Autumn Meadows Designer Paper pack on the left side. I added a Scallop Edge border with my Scallop Edge punch and Soft Suede cardstock and tucked it slightly under the designer paper strip. I wrapped the Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon around and adhered it to the back. I completed the flat bow with two more loops on the front, then placed the 5/8 Neutrals Jumbo Vanilla Brad in the center (it goes thru to the back of the Taken with Teal cardstock.) Everything was placed on the base card of Kraft cardstock.

Autumn Splendor
I’m having so much fun using the Stampin’ Up! Table Settings Die! Did you know that with a $250 workshop, you can purchase it (or anything else in the Holiday Mini Catalog) for only $10? What a bargain! Note: it cannot be an online order, though…you must place the order directly through me to get this hostess benefit.
I made another one of the small pumpkins from the Spiral on the Table Settings Bigz XL Die. When I first saw that piece of the die, I wondered if I ever would use the spiral. I know now that I definitely will be using it a lot! Did you see the pumpkins on the 12×12 Scrapbook page I made over on Create with Connie and Julie during Preview week? What about the table setting I posted over there yesterday? And today I have some fun fall tree ornaments posted using it!
October is birthday month for us, so I made this cute pumpkin card for my mom whose birthday is next week. I cut off a couple of the outside rings on the spiral from the Table Settings die to make it smaller to fit on the card! I sponged the edges with Pumpkin Pie Classic ink for some added dimension. The leaf I stamped from the Autumn Splendor Stamp set in Chocolate Chip Classic ink on Always Artichoke cardstock, cut it out and sponged the edges with Always Artichoke Classic ink. The stem I cut free hand from Chocolate Chip cardstock.
The base card is Pumpkin Pie cardstock and I layered a 4×4 piece of Autumn Meadows Designer Paper on top. I added some Always Artichoke cardstock punched with the Eyelet Border punch across the bottom and added Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon to hide the seam there. For behind the pumpkin, I cut a square of Kraft cardstock and layered it on Always Artichoke cardstock and sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the edges. I used the 3/8 Corner Rounder on the top two corners of each layer. I also used my Paper Piercing Tool and the Piercing mat to punch a small design in the upper right corner…it was kind of blank there and I think it dresses it up a little! The pumpkin I added on top with some Stampin’ Dimensionals! Finally, I added the birthday greeting from On Your Birthday in Chocolate Chip Classic ink.
Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to check out Preview Week!

Sparkly and Bright Accordion card
Good morning! It is Monday again already! Where do the weekends go? Ours certainly FLEW by…although I didn’t seem to accomplish as much as I thought I would!
Here is a card I made using the stamp set Sparkly and Bright. It was for a Shoebox swap we did before the Cincinnati Regionals earlier this month! Only 7 of us participated, so it was a nice little one to do! I guess you would call this a type of tri-fold card…more accordion type. It does close to a standard sized A-4 card.
I started with a base of Real Red cardstock sized 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 1 1/2, 4 1/2, and 7. I folded so that the folds were valley, mountain, valley (from left to right) and made the accordian fold.
For decorating, I added layers of Holiday Lounge Designer Paper in each front panel. I stamped the images from Sparkly and Bright and punched them with the 1 3/8 circle punch, then layered them on Taken with Teal Scallop Circle punches. When placing these images on the base card, start with the center panel first, then line up the first scallop to that middle one (make sure your adhesive is only on the left side of the back or it will adhere to the next layer.) Cover the first scallop on the back with another Taken with Teal Scallop Circle to hide the overlap of the front scallop.
The snowflakes were stamped with Taken with Teal on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the 1" circle punch and layered on the 1 1/4" circle punch. They are adhered to the edge of the last panel. I colored Rudolph’s nose with a Real Red Stampin’ Up! marker and the Christmas tree has a small Red Fire Circle Rhinestone Brad for the top. Obviously you could BLING up this card a LOT. I kept it pretty demonstratable since it was for a shoebox swap.

And…here is a sneak peek at the project posted over on Create with Connie and Julie today! A fun scrapbook page using the Table Setting Bigz XL die! I loved using it to create unusual things. Can you tell how I used it in this picture? Check out the previews this week…and then I hope you’ll join us for the rest of the Holiday Edition!
