Saturday Blog Hop – You’ve Been Boo’d

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “You’ve Been Boo’d” this week…cards that have the word “Boo” on them!  I used the stamp set Seasonal Chums and did some jack-o-lantern coloring for the “o”s.  What do you think?

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Spooky Nights Designer Paper was placed at the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • The pumpkins from Seasonal Chums stamp set were stamped with Memento Black Ink, the colored with the new Stampin’ Blends markers (coming soon!).  They were cut with the Seasonal Tags Framelit and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The letter B and ! point were cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Large Letters Framelits and also popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • In the corners, the spider webs were cut with the Seasonal Tags Framelit from Basic Black and adhered with Multipurpose Glue.
  • A few Black Rhinestones were added to the background.

I can’t wait to see what the Design Team did with the challenge this week!  Next up is our Create website to find out more about our October Mini Session, then onto Mary Brown or go backwards to visit Melissa Davies!

It's time for the last Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection 2013 Saturday challenge…this week it is a COLOR CHALLENGE for our designers only!  Hope you are inspired by their work!

And here is my card using Chalk Talk, one of the sets we featured this past week in our Summer Collection.  And, no…Mary and I did not coordinate or plan our cards…but it's funny how similar they turned out!  Check hers out over on Create with Connie and Mary.

Here are the details:

  1. The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
  2. I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and embossed with the Mosaic folder.
  3. I cut a 1 1/2 x 5 piece of Bermuda Bay Designer Paper Stack from the Brights Collection and cut a flag end.  I adhered it down the center.
  4. I stamped the large tag in Chalk Talk with Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Chalk Talk Framelits.  I stamped it again with Bermuda Bay and cut out just the center greeting "something" and placed on top of the Pumpkin Pie one.
  5. I stamped the smaller filligree tag in Chalk Talk with Daffodil Delight and cut with the Chalk Talk framelit, then cut it in half and placed it on either side of the larger Pumpkin Pie tag.
  6. All the tags were placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. For some bling, I added small Rhinestones in each of the corners of the tag.  And, tied a Daffodil Delight button with White Bakers Twine tied in a bow, then placed on the front with a Mini Glue Dot.

For some great inspiration, check out what the Design Team did with this color challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!  And…be watching…soon we will be announcing the Early Bird Pricing for our next Fall Collection 2013!!!  You won't want to miss it!

Jolly Old Saint Nick

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!  All the celebrations went by SO fast.  It was good to see friends and family that we only see during this time of year.  Our kids arrived safely and got home safely yesterday, so we are thankful!

OK…last Christmas card for the season!  This was my personal Christmas card this year!  I made over a 100 of them.  I started back in October at a stamping retreat…all finished except to cut out the little Jolly Old Saint Nick snowman.  I didn't get around to cutting the snowman out until mid-December and mailed them out!  So much for starting early!

I used the color combination of Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake and Basic Black.  I liked those colors together!  The snowflakes in the background are from Northern Hearts Level 1 Hostess Set and stamped in White Craft Ink.

I thought I'd also show you the gift tags I made for my presents.  I always wrap my gifts in the same wrapping paper, then stamp tags to match.  However, this year, I couldn't find a snowman stamp that I liked that coordinated well with the wrapping paper.  So, I punched out the head of the snowman with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle and layered it on the 2 1/2 circle punched from retired Mellow Moss Cardstock.  I added a retired snowflake punch with a Rhinestone jewel in the center, used my Crop-A-Dile, then some retired Mellow Moss grosgrain ribbon.  I liked being able to use up some of my retired stash!  lol!

I'm trying to kick back and relax this week…read a few books!  I received a gift card for Amazon, so can't wait to download some books on my Kindle!

Have a great week!
