Twick or Tweet

Tonight is Beggar's Night for us (Trick or Treat) and I can't wait to see all the little kids dressed up for Halloween!  They always have the cutest costumes!  I'm loaded up on candy…we ran out last year and I felt bad, but I had six bags and thought that would be plenty!

This is the Halloween card I mailed out this year.  I think I made about 16 of them.  I love the little chick in the set (of course, I love ALL the images in this Twick or Tweet set).  Stampin' Up! really did a great job designing it!

I started with a base of Confetti White cardstock and placed a layer of Basic Black on top.  I ran the Pumpkin Pie layer thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Details Texturz Plate for some subtle background texture.  I wrapped the 5/8" Black Grosgrain Ribbon around to the back and adhered, then placed the smaller Black Gingham Ribbon over top of it.  The label for the greeting is cut from the Matchbox XL die on Confetti White and stamped with Basic Black with Goblin Greetings from the Grateful Greetings set in the Holiday Mini Catalog.  I sponged around the edges with Basic Black.

The chick from Twick or Tweet was stamped on Whisper White with Basic Black ink and colored with Stampin' Write markers in So Saffron, Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie.  I punched it with the 1 1/4 circle, the a 1 3/8 circle of Pumpkin Pie and Scallop Circle of Summer Sun.

That's it!  My colorful Halloween card for this year!

Twick or Tweet Lollipop Treat Holder

It is time for another Create with Connie and Julie Challenge. Each week we have a fun challenge that all of our subscribers can participate in. Our top three picks will win some fabulous Stampin’ Up! prizes!

Here is the little treat holder I made for the challenge using Stampin’ Up!’s Twick or Tweet stamp set and the Petal Card die.  I adapted the inside so that it holds the lollipop stick without it falling out of the sleeve!  One of the perks for joining Create with Connie and Julie…I have the tutorial for making these on today’s post!

We would love to have you join us over on Create with Connie & Julie. We have just finished up our Halloween and Fall ideas and we are now starting 6 full weeks of Christmas projects. There are two ways to join us, you can place an online order for $75.00 or you can purchase a subscription for only $39.95US. For more information on the site please click HERE.

Twick or Tweet

Wow…I’m getting later and later posting.  Hopefully I can catch up this weekend.  My computer has been acting up, too, since it did a download the other day.  Grrr…

Today’s card is my Design Team submission using the sketch from the LateNightStampers Challenge #41.  Same sketch that I used HERE.  Amazing how different it looks!

I started with a base of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and layered a 4×4 piece of Cast A Spell Designer Paper on top.  I added two More Mustard mini brads to each end of a 1 x 4 strip of Old Olive cardstock, then placed it  to hide the seam from the Designer Paper.  I stamped the little bird from Stampin’ Up!’s Twick or Tweet stamp set on Whisper White and colored with my Stampin’ Write Markers, then sponged the edges with Basic Black ink.  It was layered on Pumpkin Pie, sponged the edges, and finally layered on Basic Black cardstock.  I stamped Twick or Tweet in Basic Black on Perfect Plum, then punched it with the Word Window punch and layered it on a Basic Black Modern Label punch piece.  All that was added to the front of the card with Dimensionals.

I thought it turned out cute!

Wow…tomorrow is Friday already and time for Bloggers Challenge!  See you then!

Sneak Peek! Twick or Tweet

It’s Saturday and time for the Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge…are you up for it?  Please join in by uploading your card to your Blog or SCS Gallery and placing a direct link to Mr. Linky at the Stamping 411 site!  I love seeing your submissions.  Yes, I do check each one every week, although I don’t always have time to comment.

OK…I couldn’t resist…yes, another Halloween set.  This one is in the NEW Holiday mini coming out on September 1st.  Don’t worry if you haven’t received your copy yet, Stampin’ Up! was a little delayed getting them out.  You should have it next week.  But you will LOVE this mini!  Oh my gosh…I want everything!

So…this skeleton is one of 4 images WITH greetings in the Twick or Tweet stamp set.  I cut mine apart so the greetings were separate, so I actually have 8 stamps!  It is SO cute!  I get a chuckle out of this image with greeting, "It’s Halloween…enjoy every bite."  I stamped him in Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock, distressed the edges with my Cutter Kit Distressing Tool and sponged with Black ink, plus I took a "bite" out of one corner with my Scallop Circle punch.  I layered it on Old Olive cardstock and did the same distressing and bite, too!  I used my AquaPainter and Old Olive marker to color a shadow around his entire bony body and colored the dog with Close to Cocoa marker and AquaPainter, too.

That entire element was layered on Pumpkin Pie cardstock (distressed and sponged with black, too)  and I added a strip of Cast-A-Spell Designer Paper at the bottom, tearing across the top for a ragged look.  I wrapped the 1/4 Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon around it and added the Modern Label punched from Elegant Eggplant cardstock and stamped the greeting in Basic Black on Whisper White, then punched it with my Word Window punch.  Finally, I added a couple Old Olive Mini Brads in the upper corner and mounted it on a base of Pumpkin Pie.

I’m pretty happy with how he turned out!  Make sure to check out the rest of the operators over at Stamping 411!  Have a great weekend!
