CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Valentines

It’s time for a new Saturday Blog Hop! This week our Design Team will be featuring Valentines!  The abstract art in the Painted with Love Specialty Designer Paper is SO great to work with…and I love the metallic gold that is almost on every piece!  My little crate holds six wrapped Hershey Nuggets…what a yummy treat for someone special!  I think I’ll make these for my two older grandkids (that can eat chocolate!)

Here are the details:

  • The 8 x 4 base template is cut from Melon Mambo cardstock and scored with the long side at top at 1, 1-1/2, 3, 4, 5, 6-1/2 and 7, score on the short end at 1/2 and 3-1/2.
  • Cut each score line on the sides to the cross score line EXCEPT at the 4″ line.  Fold in half with the tabs at the 4″ area inside and the other tabs flipped out.
  • Punch the handle with the Classic Label punch.  It is double thickness so will be hard to punch.
  • Adhere where folded and then form the sides of the box sleeves on the sides and adhere.
  • I decorated the box with 1″ strip of Painted with Love Specialty DSP, tied a Gold Tinsel bow around the hand.
  • I cut a Rich Razzleberry heart with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I used the Sure Do Love You banner stamped in Melon Mambo and hand-cut (or use the Lots of Love Box Framelit) and adhered across the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The nuggets were wrapped with 1×3 pieces of Painted with Love DSP.

OK…make sure to check out the rest of the Design Team’s creations by continuing on with the blog hop! I’m sure they have some FABULOUS creations! Next up is our Create with Connie & Mary website and then Mary Brown and her creative design!

Sure Do Love You

Stampin’ Up! has such great designer paper that sometimes it is wonderful to just use it for the main focus of the card!  I love this pretty floral pattern with silver accents in the Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Paper package and combined it with a couple hearts cut from the Lots to Love Box Framelits.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Sweet Soiree DSP.
  • A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Calypso Coral cardstock is placed across the front and the Silver Trimmed Ribbon wrapped across it and adhered in the back.
  • The large heart from the Lots to Love Box Framelits was cut from Whisper White and one of the small hearts from Silver Metallic cardstock.
  • The large heart was stamped with the Love You greeting in Oh Happy Day stamp set in Calypso Coral Ink.
  • Both hearts were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This photograph is so hard to capture all the silver accents, but it so pretty and SO easy!

Today is the last day to order the Create with Connie and Mary Sure Do Love You Collection that includes the Make & Takes!  (PDF will still be available for a little while longer.)  Don’t miss out!  You get three cards (one is a fun fold) and cute 3D item with full step-by-step photo instructions!  Check out more details over on Create with Connie and Mary!

AND…Picture Perfect Birthday Collection is coming January 15th!!!

CCMC488 Heart Happiness

Although I’m still in the midst of getting ready for Christmas, I just HAD to use one of the new stamp sets from the new Occasions catalog on my card today…the sketch was just perfect for it!  Oh, and just wait until you see what the rest of the Challenge Team came up with…SOOOO cute!

I searched for a greeting to fit the sketch and stumbled across “Bless Your Heart”.  My girlfriend says this all the time (she’s from southern Alabama)…and I love it!  Do you know what set it is in?  I think it worked great!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Rich Razzleberry cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Powder Pink cardstock.
  • A 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of the new Painted with Love DSP was added to the front, with another 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Painted with Love DSP.  You really can’t tell how pretty this is with the gold foil accents in it!  LOVE it!
  • The large heart from Heart Happiness stamp set was stamped with Rich Razzleberry, the medium with Melon Mambo.  They were cut with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits, along with the small one cut from Gold Metallic Paper.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A gold heart Metallic Enamel Shape was added to the largest heart.
  •  The sentiment from Jar of Love was stamped with Memento Black under the large heart.

OK…check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!  LOTS of inspiration for you!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Love is in the Air

We’re back for another Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop with the Design Team! Our theme this week is Love is in the Air!  With Valentine’s Day coming up, we all need a valentine for our special person, don’t we?  Well, at least in the US…I don’t think it is as recognized in our other markets as much!

I used the Life Me Up Bundle in the Occasions Catalog for my card today!  It gave it a more masculine look, I think.  Will probably give this to my husband!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Real Red cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a layer of 4 x 5-1/4 Basic Black cardstock.
  • On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, a 1 x 5 strip of Sending Love Designer Paper is added to the bottom.  Then the 1/8″ Real Red Sending Love Ribbon is added across the front and secured in the back.
  • The outline of the balloon was cut with the Up & Away Thinlit from Real Red cardstock, then adhered to Basic Black and cut around the edges.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Love Is in the Air from Lift Me Up stamp set is stamped with Memento Black Ink.
  • The “postage” is cut from the Sending Love Designer Paper and adhered in the upper right corner.
  • The Sending Love Wood Heart Embellishment is added to the hot air balloon with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

I love it! OK…make sure to continue on around the Blog Hop to see all the Design Team creations! I can’t wait to get inspired! Next up is our Create with Connie and Mary Website where you can find out more about our upcoming FEBRUARY MINI SESSION. Or you can go backwards to Melissa’s blog!

SUOC167 Sealed with Love

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Time for Valentines”.  Appropriate time of year!  Here’s one I made up with my favorite Valentine colors, Pool Party, Whisper White and Real Red!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Sending Love Designer Paper was added.
  • A piece of Sending Love 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon hides the seam and is adhered in the back.
  • The swash from Sealed with Love stamp set was stamped twice with Pool Party Ink.
  • The Hello Love greeting was stamped over top with Memento Black Ink.
  • The 3D Heart was cut from Real Red and the slotted heart from Basic Black cardstocks and adhered to the front.  The arrow was cut from Pool Party cardstock and adhered behind the 3D heart.
  • The floral heart was stamped with Real Red and cut with the 3D heart, then the outer portion cut off.  It is adhered to the solid Real Red 3D heart.
  • The lips were stamped with Real Red.

OK…check out the rest of the SUO Challenge Design Team this time to see what they did with the “Time For Valentines” theme and they come play along!

SUOC166 Sealed with Love

The theme this time over on SUO Challenges (SUOC166) is Embossing…heat or dry!  I wanted to use my new Falling Petals Embossing Folder…the little hearts are perfect for a Valentine card, too!

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock, angled on the front.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Real Red cardstock is embossed with the Falling Petals Embossing Folder.
  • The FREE Sale-A-Bration ribbon 3/8″ Metallic Silver is wrapped around at an angle and tied with a knot (I’m LOVING this ribbon!)
  • Love Note greeting is stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Love Notes Framelits.  The envelope Framelit is cut from Sending Love Designer Paper.  Both are adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The small heart Framelit was cut from Red Glimmer Paper and added to the Love Note.

Again…I’m into angles right now…love how this turned out!  Make sure to check out the rest of the SUO Challenge Team to see what they did with the Embossing theme this week.  Then grab your products and play along!

Hello Life Part 2

OK, I promised another card with the Hello Life stamp set and sketch from Create with Connie and Mary.  I had a HARD time deciding which one to use for the Thursday Challenge!  Obviously, here is the one that I didn’t use.  Tell me which you like better…the one from yesterday (see here) or today’s?

Hello Life

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Rose Red, folded in half.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Happy Hearts folder.
  • The 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 layer of Rose Red is wrapped with Melon Mambo/Basic Black Baker’s Twine and adhered in the back, then placed on the front of the Whisper White.
  • 3/4″ circles were punched from the Love Blossoms Designer Paper (12 of them) and adhered on the Rose Red.
  • The striped heart from Hello Life was stamped with Rose Red Ink on Whisper White and cut.
  • Love from Hello Life was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on 1/2 strip of Whisper White and cut with a flag end.
  • Both were adhered on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A Rhinestone Jewel was added to the heart.

So…very similar, but different…what do you think?  lol!

Hello Life

Since it is Valentine week, I thought I’d pull out a set from the main catalog for our Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card!  I actually did TWO cards using this sketch.  This one is the one that was in my head for the past month or so since I saw the sketch.  I’ll show the other one tomorrow and you can let me know which one you like better!  lol!

CCMC393

Mary does the sketches for us using the MDS system, and she somehow snuck this sketch in on me.  She knows that I’m not crazy about SMALL images…and this one has a ton in the background!  But…our Challenge Team did a FANTASTIC job with it!  So many great ideas that I never even though about doing with it!  Here’s my first take on this sketch.  I thought it would be fun to use the XOs in Little Letters Thinlets for the background.

CCMC393 Hello Life

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Rose Red, folded in half and the top two corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder.
  • On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Happy Hearts Folder.
  • On the 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, the top corners were punched with the Corner Rounder and it was adhered over the Whisper White layer towards the bottom.
  • A 1/4 x 4 strip of Love Blossoms DSP was cut to go across the bottom according to the sketch.
  • Six X’s and six O’s were cut from Blushing Bride with the Little Letters Thinlets, then adhered to the Crumb Cake with Liquid Monoadhesive Glue.
  • The outline heart from Hello Life was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on Rose Red and hand-cut.  Love was stamped on a 1/2 x 3 strip of Whisper White, cut with a flag end.  They were both placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

That’s it!  Now…make sure to check out the rest of the Challenge Team this week…as I said…fabulous cards!

Bloomin’ Love

Ready for a Clean & Simple card?  This one is super simple…at least on the outside!  Really, the Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper punched heart and Clear Wink of Stella on the row of punched hearts is what gives it a little pizzazz…plus the Love Blossoms Designer Paper!  CAS-ology’s week 183 challenge is to use Glitter, so this qualifies!

Bloomin Love

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Rose Red, folded in half.
  • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blushing Bride.
  • On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, a 3-1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Love Blossoms Designer Paper was added to the bottom.
  • To hide the seam, 6 Small Hearts were punched from Rose Red and adhered across the front and the row of hearts were highlighted with some Clear Wink of Stella.
  • The greeting from Stampin’ Up!’s Bloomin’ Love stamp set was stamped with Rose Red.
  • Another Small Heart was punched from Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper.

That’s it!  It would be super easy to make up a bunch of these, put a Valentine greeting on the inside and be done.  But…if you want to step up the INSIDE, here’s what I did!

Bloomin Love inside

  • A 3/4 x 4 strip of the same Love Blossoms DSP was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
  • Love You from the same Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • The floral Heart from Bloomin’ Love was stamped with Blushing Bride Ink.
  • The arrow was made by punching the Small Heart Punch from Blushing Bride Glimmer paper, a skinny strip of Basic Black cardstock and the small Banner Punch of Rose Red, cut with slits to look like feathers.

That’s it!  Isn’t it fun?  I think I may give this one to my husband for Valentine’s Day, even though it is sort of flowery, I think he’ll like it!

The theme this week on our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop is Love is in the Air!  It’s that time of year!  While I could have used the traditional Valentine set in the Occasions Catalog, Bloomin’ Love…I thought I’d use another one of the sets that you may not think of for Valentine’s Day cards…Bear Hugs!

Bear Hugs 2

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Rose Red, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Rose Red Hearts in the Love Blossoms Designer Paper Stack was placed down the left side.
  • Across is a 2 x 3-1/4 coordinating pattern in Love Blossoms DSP.
  • A 2″ punched circle of Rose Red was placed over the DSP.
  • The small bear was stamped with Early Espresso on Whisper White, then watercolored with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers.  It was cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits and popped up on the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Three hearts were cut for the balloons from Crumb Cake, DSP and one stamped with Rose Red on Whisper White, then cut with the Framelits.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Strings were hand-drawn with a Early Espresso Marker.
  • The bow-tie was cut from DSP and Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper…one for the bear’s head and one for the balloons!
  • Finally, an It’s My Party Enamel Dot was put in the center of the bow-tie on her head.

OK…that’s it for me…continue on around the blog by checking out the details of our February Mini Session on Create with Connie and Mary and sign up while you are there…then continue on around to Mary Brown’s blog to complete the blog hop (or go backwards to Melissa’s blog)!  Enjoy the “Love is in the Air” ideas!
