I already shared the one Bear Hugs card I did for the Incentive Trip Achievers Swap last month.  If you missed it, you can see it HERE!  And, this is the one I did for the Control Freaks Swappers last month!  I love the colors in the It’s My Party Designer Paper Pack…you are going to get sick of me saying and using it!

Bear Hugs 2

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Melon Mambo, folded in half.
  • Along the left edge is a 1 x 5-1/2 strip of the confetti parttern in It’s My Party DSP Pack.
  • A 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White has a 1 x 4 piece of Mint Macaron cardstock torn and added to the bottom for the “ground” and a 1/4 x 4 strip of yellow stripe DSP from the same package added along the side.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The bear was stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink on Whisper White and colored with Crumb Cake Marker and AquaPainter.  He was cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits.
  • The Love you balloon was stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink on Melon Mambo and cut with the heart shape framelit in Bear Hugs.  The bow was stamped with Basic Black on Crushed Curry and cut with the framelit.
  • Two more balloons were cut with the framelit, one with Crushed Curry Cardstock and one from the Mint Macaron print in the It’s My Party Paper Pack.  They were assembled at the top right corner of the Whisper White with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The strings were hand-drawn with a Basic Black Marker to the Bear’s paw.
  • Finally, a Rhinestone jewel was added to the Crushed Curry balloon!

Isn’t that a sweet card!  My grand-kids would love to get it, I’m sure!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop Trim it Down

WI15SatHopWelcome
Woohoo!  The theme this week for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is TRIM IT DOWN!  Yes…definitely a FEW ways things need to trim down around here, but specifically this means no more than two layers and one embellishment.

I hope my card meets that criteria…after it was done and I was getting ready to post, I had second thoughts!  But, in my mind it does fit the criteria…I don’t count the punches as layers or embellishments.  lol!

Going Global

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, folded in half.
  • On top the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Night of Navy cardstock was embossed with the World Traveler Embossing Folder.  I placed it on the base at an angle, then trimmed off the excess.
  • The greeting from Going Global stamp set was stamped in the lower right corner with Real Red Ink.
  • The globe from Going Global was stamped with Night of Navy on Whisper White, then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch and layered on the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle punched from Real Red Glimmer Paper and adhered to the front.
  • The Love banner from one of the other greetings was stamped with Real Red Ink, the banner cut by hand and layered over the globe with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, two Real Red Candy Dots for embellishments were placed in the upper right corner.

OK…next stop is our Create with Connie and Mary website to find out more about our January 2016 Mini Session that will be starting soon!  Here are a few details!  Then continue around to Mary’s blog!

Dec 2015 Control Freaks Blog Hop

freakwelcome2013

Gosh…it has been a few months since I’ve been able to participate in the monthly Control Freaks Blog Hop!  Just been really busy at that scheduled time of the month so couldn’t swing getting any extra projects done!  But, I’m excited to be back and able to participate!  The theme this month is the new goodies from the Occasions or Sale-a-Bration catalogs!  I decided to use a set that has been sitting on my desk the past few days, Bloomin’ Love!  You’ve probably just come from Debbie Henderson’s blog...always love her projects, don’t you?

I must admit…I’m ready to move on from making Christmas cards!  Who doesn’t love some sweet Valentines?  I love the flowery set, Bloomin’ Love in the Occasions Catalog…and the yummy Love Blossoms Designer Paper and coordinating Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit!  So much FUN stuff!

First up is this heart apothecary jar that I picked up at the M*** store AGES ago…in fact, I was with Mary Brown when I bought it and shipped it back with me from Palm Springs, California after Leadership that year.  I have used the clear ones that I bought…but this red one has been sitting on my shelf so I pulled it out to use!

Dec 2015 Bloomin Love 3
A few details:

  • The flowery heart from Bloomin’ Love is stamped with Blushing Bride on Whisper White and hand cut, then adhered to the gold heart doily in the Love Blossoms Kit with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some gold sequins in the kit were added to the flowers.
  • The banner was stamped with Real Red and the words with Tuxedo Black ink, and hand cut, then added across the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The entire heart was added to the front of the glass apothecary jar with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Dec 2015 Bloomin Love 4

  • The Blushing Bride Satin Ribbon from the Kit was tied around the neck and some of the string pearls and Blushing Bride Sequin Trim was tied in the knot of the ribbon.
  • The floral image from Bloomin’ Love was stamped with Garden Green, then punched with a 1-1/4″ Circle and adhered to the cork.  The outline flower was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Blushing Bride and adhered over the floral image with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  A white sequin from the Kit was added to the center.

Dec 2015 Bloomin Love 2
Details on the card:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White.
  • Along the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blushing Bride, a 1-3/4 x 4 strip of Love Blossoms DSP was added to the bottom. Then placed on the front of the base.
  • A 1/4″ x 4 strip of Gold Glimmer Paper hides the seam.
  • The Bloomin’ Heart Thinlet Die was cut from Rose Red cardstock and added to the top of the card.
  • White sequins from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit were added to the Heart diecut.
  • The banner was stamped with Tuxedo Black and greeting with Rose Red, handcut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Blushing Bride Satin Ribbon in the kit was tied in a knot with the string pearls and Blushing Bride Sequin Trim tied in it.  It is added to the banner with Mini Glue Dots.

Here’s the duo together!  Love how this little gift ensemble came out!  Fill the apothecary jar with candies or bath salts for a nice little gift!

Dec 2015 Bloomin Love

Next up is Wendy Weixler to continue on the blog tour!  Keep going around until you get back here and you’ll have completed the blog tour!  Enjoy!

SUOC115 Snuggles and Smooches

It’s all about Valentine Wishes for the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge this time!  Valentine’s Day will be here soon!  Here’s what I came up with using the special Stampin’ Up! set, Snuggles and Smooches…it’s not in the catalog, you need to see it in the online store.

SUOC115 Snuggles and Smooches 2

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 Crumb Cake cardstock layer, the large and small flower swirls were stamped in the background with White Craft Ink.
  • LOVE was stamped with Real Red on a curved banner of Whisper White and a small swatch of Stacked with Love Designer Paper placed along the right side of the banner.
  • Black Bakers Twine was wrapped around the banner to hide the seam and tied with a bow, then popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The heart was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on Real Red and punched with the Sweetheart Punch.  The two small hearts were stamped with Real Red on Whisper White and punched with the Small Heart Punch.  Both were popped up on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Finally, a little Rhinestone was added to the large heart.

Lots of fun on this card!  I loved how it turned out.  Now check out SUO Challenges to see what the rest of the Design Team did with the Valentine Wishes theme!

Jan 2015 Tour de Freaks

freakwelcome2013

Wow!  It’s time for another Tour de Freaks blog hop!  The theme this time is Love or Valentines…perfect timing, huh?  You’ve probably just arrived from the fabulous Julie Davison’s blog.  Love her fun projects, didn’t you?

When deciding what to do for this tour, I knew I wanted to use the Hello Life stamp set.  It really is so much more than a Valentine set!  I love that large “do more of what makes you happy” greeting!  But, since our theme is Love or Valentine’s, I went with the obvious hearts and paired it with the Stacked with Love Designer Paper Stack.  Here’s my little duo of projects!

Jan 2015 Hello Life

I also adore the new Bow Builder Punch…I’ve used it a couple ways on my projects.  The card has the simple bow and the top of the box has a package bow!  Both are SO easy to make!  Here are a few details:

Jan 2015 Hello Life card

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11, folded in half.
  • Crumb Cake layer is 4 x 5-1/4
  • The heart DSP is 2-1/4 x 4 with a strip of coordinating DSP sized 1/2 x 4 to hide the seam.
  • The script Love was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink along the bottom.
  • The small polka dot heart was stamped with Real Red and hand-cut (no punch or framelit that size…bummer!)
  • The “happy” greeting was stamped with Tuxedo Black on Real Red and cut with the Heart Framelits and added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Stacked with Love DSP was punched twice with the Bow Builder Punch and put together with Mini Glue dots and added to the bottom of the large heart.

The Tiny Box was so quick and easy to make, too!

Jan 2015 Hello Life Tiny Box

  • All four sides were covered with the 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 squares of the diagonal stripe in Stacked with Love DSP.
  • On the sides and back, 1/4 x 1-3/4 strips of coordinating DSP were adhered across the center.
  • Four hearts were stamped…two in Calypso Coral (striped heart) and two in Real Red (polka dot heart) on Whisper White and hand-cut, then placed with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The front DSP was stamped with the script Love in Tuxedo Black, and an additional Red Glimmer Heart was cut with the small Heart Framelit.
  • A rhinestone jewel on the front heart added a little bling.

Jan 2015 Hello Life bow

  • The top uses four of the Bow Builder Punches from Stacked with Love DSP.  The tails were added to a 1″ circle with Mini Glue Dots and then staggered the looped bows on top of them.  A 7/8″ Scallop Circle punched from the same DSP covers the ends on the circle.
  • For some bling, a Facet Jewel was tied with White Bakers Twine and added to the center of the bow, then added to the top of the Tiny Box with Stampin’ Dimensionals!

Such a sweet little wrapped package for someone you love!

Make sure to continue on around the rest of the Tour de Freaks!  Some great ideas!  Next up is Patty Bennett with more wonderful Love ideas!

CCMC337 Snuggles and Smooches again

It’s time for another Thursday Challenge by the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Team!  It’s a fun sketch challenge this week!  Grab your stamps and play along!

CCMC337

And here is my card:

CCMC338 Snuggles and Smooches

Yes!  I used the cute Snuggles and Smooches stamp set again!  Here are the details:

  • The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Real Red, folded in half
  • On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Basic Black, I stamped the smaller swirl flower with White Craft Ink.  Love that chalkboard look!
  • Along the right side, I added a 1 1/2 x 4 piece of Stacked with Love Designer Paper.
  • On the 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 piece of Whisper White, I stamped LOVE with Tuxedo Black Ink in the lower left corner.  I stamped the heart on Real Red and punched with the Sweetheart Punch.
  • I wrapped Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine around the Whisper White 3 times and adhered in the back.  The heart was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I stamped Oodles of with Tuxedo Black on scrap Whisper White and cut around it, then added it to the heart.
  • Finally, I used some Gold Sequin Trim hanging down from the heart.

I think all the elements combined are SOOOO much fun!  I love how it turned out!  Make sure to check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Snuggles and Smooches

I was thrilled to see Stampin’ Up! come out with this new photopolymer stamp set, Snuggles and Smooches ($15.95 US)!  Too cute…makes me think of my grandkids cause I love their snuggles and smooches!  lol!  I grabbed it this morning and made up a couple cards real quick!

Snuggles and Smooches

Here’s one that I made…you’ll have to come back tomorrow to see the other one.  This one I had some scraps of Stacked with Love Paper Pack sitting on my desk from making Valentine Kits, so I thought I’d use a few of them up.

Snuggles and Smooches

The details:

  • The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Whisper White, folded in half.
  • The Real Red layer is 3 3/4 x 5.
  • I added 3/4″ strips of Stacked with Love Designer Paper Stack along the bottom.
  • Snuggles and Smooches was stamped with Calypso Coral and punched with the 2″ Circle Punch, then layered on the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch piece of Basic Black.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • LOVE was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink Pad on the left side.
  • I added a couple Rhinestone jewel accents and a punched Red Glimmer Heart for some bling!

Super easy and fun!  Oh, and I used an old Create with Connie and Mary sketch for my layout!

Jan 05 2015

Hello Life!

Yeah!  It’s 2015 and hopefully everything will get back into its’ routine this week!  Although I love the holidays, it feels good to wake up and know that I need to get working on my business again!  I do like organization and structure after all!  I have all this week blocked off to be creative!  Woohoo!  AND…this the LAST DAY to order from the Holiday Catalog and get any of the Year End Clearance Items!  Tomorrow we have the NEW Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs to order from!  Can I hear a DOUBLE Woohoo???!!!  I’m excited!

When Mary and I decided to do the Create with Connie and Mary Valentine Mini Collection, we wanted to keep the projects using two stamp sets, Hey Valentine and You Plus Me.  But…I LOVE the Hello Life stamp set in the Occasions Mini, too!  It’s just not for Valentines!  Those script words are darling…and that big greeting, too!  But, here’s what I did for today!

Hello Life

This card came together SO easily it is almost embarrassing!  lol!  I had the two cut pieces of Stacked with Love Designer Paper on my desk and the Calypso Coral layer and Whisper White card base was already cut, too!  Stamping and punching a couple times and it was done!  Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
  • The Calypso Coral layer is 4 x 5-1/4.
  • The bottom hearts Stacked with Love DSP layer is 2-1/4 x 4 and adhered to the bottom.  The linen DSP is 1/2 x 4 placed across the top of the DSP to hide the seam.
  • Above the DSP I stamped the script LOVE with Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • I stamped the two different hearts with Calypso Coral on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Sweetheart Punch (love that new shape heart!).  You could use the Heart Framelits, too!
  • I added a few little Rhinestone jewels for some bling.

SOOO simple!  But yet has a lot of style!  So…ready, set, GO!  Leave a comment and tell me what YOUR favorite Valentine set is in the new Occasions Catalog!  I’d love to know!

CCMC336 Snowman Love

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Wishing you a wonderful year!  And, it’s Thursday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  We have a beautiful color combination for you this week!  Hope you grab your stamps and play along!

CCMC336
And here’s my card.  It kind of took off in a direction all of it’s own…nothing like what was in my head!  I knew I wanted to do a New Year’s card, the colors are Valentine-y looking, and I’m on a snowman kick right now…so this was “born”!  lol!  Isn’t it cute?

CCMC336 Happy New Year

Here are the details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, folded in half.
  • On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black, I stamped the Dotty Angles confetti with Versamark, then embossed with Silver Embossing Powder.
  • I added a 3/4 x 4 strip of Whisper White cardstock at the bottom and stamped Happy New Year from Teeny Tiny Wishes with Tuxedo Black ink.
  • I cut the Real Red Heart with the Heart Framelits, then added 1-3/4 circles of Whisper White for the snow people heads.  The eyes are the Cupcake Punch confetti from Basic Black, I drew on eyelashes for the snow lady with the Black Marker and highlights with the White Gel Pen.  The noses are the tip of the Tree Punch from Calypso Coral cardstock.
  • I used the Extra Large Oval and Owl Punch Vest for the man’s hat and the lady’s headband is the tip of the Extra Large Oval from Basic Black.  I added two Owl Punch hearts for the Calypso Coral bow on her hat, with a rhinestone in the center.
  • The bottom needed a little something, so I made a small bow with the new Bow Punch from Calypso Coral, adding the Red Glimmer Small Heart in the center.

Change the greeting and make it a Valentine card, wedding or anniversary card, too!  So fun!

Make sure to check out the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Team and see what they did with this color combination!

Dec 29 2014

You Plus Me again

It’s Day 4 (our final day) of the Create with Connie and Mary Valentine Collection 2015 and both Mary and I have done up another card using either the Hey, Valentine or You Plus Me stamp sets.  We are featuring both of these sets and the Stacked with Love Designer Paper Pack in our projects for the Valentine Collection.  It’s not too late to join…you get to see all FOUR of the projects all at once!

You Plus Me 2

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Strawberry Slush, folded in half.
  • On the 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 panel of Pink Pirouette, I embossed with the Happy Hearts Folder (again you’ll need to run it thru twice).
  • I added a 3/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Whisper White and stamped Twitterpated (love it!) with Strawberry Slush ink.
  • At the top, I cut a 1/8 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic Black to trim off the top.
  • I cut the heart with the Heart Framelits, then stamped the ampersand in Strawberry Slush Ink.  I used the Heart template, piercing tool and mat to pierce around the edge of the heart.
  • I colored three rhinestones with Melon Mambo Blendabilities and added them to the inside of the ampersand.
  • The circle was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on Whisper White and punched with the 1-3/4″ Circle.  I colored the words with Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush markers, then added it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Too cute!  I’m having a lot more fun with that set that I actually thought I would.  The graphics are very cool!  Make sure to check in over on Create with Connie and Mary to see the card that Mary did today!
