Royal Blog Tour
The Royal Blog Tour was certainly a HUGE success! Thank you all for stopping by! I’ll be posting my Blog Candy winner on Thursday, July 30th! Stay tuned!
Wow! The Royal Blog Tour is finally here! I’m excited to be able to show you some samples from the new Stampin’ Up! set, Wedding Sweet! This set was on my to-buy list even before my son announced his engagement a few weeks ago. Now, I’m sure I will be using it a LOT! This first sample shows the elegance of the Wedding Sweet set used in a frame to commemorate the wedding of a family friends’ daughter! It shows off the elegance of this set by using Black Craft embossed on Shimmer Paper.
My second sample shows that this set isn’t just for weddings! Here is a cheerful Thank You card appropriate for any occasion! It uses two of the stamps in Wedding Sweet.
My final sample is a playful Note Card! I will be using a variation of this for my swap card at Convention this year! This sample uses three out of the six new In Colors along with the large stamp in Wedding Sweet!
If you like what you see today, make sure to put my Blog in your favorites and visit often. You can also subscribe to my Blog and get my new posts in your email so you don’t miss anything! See my subscribe box in the upper left corner.

Stamping 411 – Wedding Sweet
Again…I LOVE this Wedding Sweet set! It makes such elegant cards, not just for weddings! Stay tuned in a few weeks, because I will be featuring this set on the Royal Blog Tour on July 26-28, too! For today, I am using the sketch from Stamping 411. I think the simplicity of this sketch adds to the elegance of this card!
I hadn’t used the new In Color, Bermuda Bay, yet, so I pulled it out to use it. I also hadn’t used my Movers & Shapers XL Die, so I decided to use it, too! I started with a base of Bermuda Bay, then added a layer of Basic Gray. On top of that, I stamped Whisper White with Bermuda Bay ink using the large floral stamp from Wedding Sweet. I added the Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Ribbon across the bottom of the front and then stamped Thank You from that set on scrap Whisper White. I used the Curly Label punch and punched out the Thank You greeting. The Movers & Shapers diecut mats behind the Curly Label punch perfectly, and it added just the right amount of definition around the greeting. Finally, I wanted to add a bow, but a regular knot looked too fussy. So, I did the loop bow…it adds just the right touch!
Make sure to check out the rest of the Stamping 411 Operators design work and play along by using this week’s sketch! We love to see what you do with the sketch inspiration!
Wedding Sweet
I had my eye on this set when I first went thru the new catalog…and that was BEFORE my son announced his engagement! I love the elegance of it…so suitable for MORE than weddings! But, this week’s Challenge #27 over on LateNightStampers is "Here comes the bride"…so I thought it would be fun to make a little wedding accessory! Wouldn’t these be fun along side the pews at the church? The triangle cones are quick and easy to make and I learned how to make it from a patriotic one I received from Laura Lipe using stars. The Hydrangea flowers are from my garden! They are gorgeous this year (my hubby keeps them well fed!) Edit: The creator of this Paper Cone is Kathy McGuire! Here is an excellent tutorial on how to make them! Kathy used 9×9, I used Laura’s directions of 8×8 so I could use 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock.
I started with an 8×8 base of Almost Amethyst cardstock and stamped the large flourish from Wedding Sweet randomly on it with White Craft Ink. Along the flap that is folded outside, I arranged the punched 5-Petal punches and the Boho Blossoms punches in Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue and Whisper White. In some of the centers I added Clear Rhinestone brads. It is hard to see, but on the back flaps, I added two large Pewter Jumbo Brads and then ran the White Stripe Organdy Ribbon thru them for a hanging loop.
That’s it! Simple, but beautiful (in my humble opinion!)
