Fishy Birthday Party

June 20, 2016 By Connie | 12 Comments

My grandson, Carter, turned 3 a couple weeks ago and his mom came up with a “fishing” theme for his party since he likes fishing in his papa’s pond!  I spent some time at my Spring Stamping Retreat cutting all the pieces for the banners, invitations and cake decorations!  Thankfully his mom put them all together!  It was lots of Big Shot work!  But since he had THREE birthday parties, the decorations really got used and I’m sure they will be borrowed by other friends.  We were inspired by some photos on Pinterest.

Here’s the birthday boy with his cake…isn’t that cute?  The sign says “Carter is three”.

Here’s the party invitation with details on the back…I made the fish in several different colors!

Carter Fish Birthday

It was a beautiful day so the party was outside…this is one of the banners with bobbers and fish and balloons!

A closeup of the bobber and fish hanging from a pendant light.

Carter Birthday 3

Bobber “lanterns” hanging from the dinette light…she painted white lanters along the bottom to look like bobbers.

Carter Birthday 4

Banner in the dinette that says Carter is 3.

Birthday cake table with gummy worms and the cake!

Carter Birthday 6

He really felt like a special little boy and enjoyed being the center of attention at each of the parties!  What fun!

A few details:

Bobbers were made with the Round Framelits and the retired angled square punch.  Fishes were made from Oval Framelits with the Gift Bow Die for the tail and fin and the largest Scallop Oval Framelit for the scales on the back.  Eyes with Circle Punches.

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Miss Connie, You are so wonderfully creative – I don’t often see many things/shapes beyond what they were going to be; Carter is so fortunate to have such an awesome & generous (to us) grandma. Thanks so much for sharing.
