Saturday Blog Hop – Sad to see you go

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Sad to See You Go”.  We are featuring those products that are retiring and not in the new Annual Catalog!  It is always a bittersweet time for me.  I love seeing new things, but there really are some favorites that I will miss!  I’ve used SEVERAL retiring products on my card.  Sweet as a Peach Bundle, You’re A Peach DSP, Hippo & Friends Dies (sob!) and the In Color Jewels!

SWEET AS A PEACH

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of striped You’re A Peach Designer Paper (retiring) was placed along the left side.  Another 2-1/2 x 3-1/4 piece of polka dot DSP was added over top of it.
  • The medallion shape from Hippo & Friends Dies (retiring) was cut from Basic White and added to the front towards the left side.
  • The peach from Sweet As A Peach stamp set (retiring) was inked with Pale Papaya Ink and sponged with Calypso Coral Ink on Basic White.  The peach leaf was stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink, and the flowers were stamped with Calypso Coral Ink.  All were cut with the Peach Dies (retiring), then assembled on the medallion with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two small double leaves were cut from Old Olive with the dies.
  • The greeting from Sweet as a Peach was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2 x 3 piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and added to the front.
  • A trio of dark green In Color Jewels (retiring) were added to the centers of the flowers.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stem.

 

So that is my selection of retiring products for this week’s “sad to see you go” blog hop theme! Saturday Blog Hop – Borders or Tags

This week’s blog hop theme is Borders or Tags!  Stampin’ Up! has a couple great new die sets….Border Basics and Tailor Made Tags that really enhance card making!  I wanted to use the tags in a little different way…can you spot the THREE tags on here?  I pulled out my Sweet as a Peach Bundle again…mostly because I love this Designer Paper!

SWEET AS A PEACH BUNDLE

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of You’re A Peach Designer Paper was added to the base.
  • Two of the largest scalloped edge tags were cut from Old Olive cardstock with the Tailored Made Tags Dies, then embossed with the Checks Embossing Folder.  They were added to the front, and the extra ends cut off the side.
  • Some Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon was fed thru the holes and tied in a bow (after the tag was added).
  • The smallest flat end tag was cut from Basic White cardstock and the reinforcer from Calypso Coral cardstock.  It was adhered together and then stamped with the Have a Peach Day greeting in Memento Black Ink.
  • The trio of peaches were inked with Pale Papaya Ink and sponged with Calypso Coral In on the edge, then cut with the Peach Dies.  The little leaves were cut from Pear Pizzazz with the double leaf.  One peach was added to the end of the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Genial Gems was added in the background for a little bling!

CCMC669 – Sweet as a Peach

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s a pretty color combination that is quite popular in Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Papers.

SWEET AS A PEACH

I decided to pull out my Sweet as a Peach Bundle since the colors were so soft!  I paired it with the Pansy Petals DSP.  I love that gingham and I had these squares already cut and left over!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cinnamon Cider cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • On top the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mint Macaron was embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder.
  • Two 2 x 2 gingham squares from Pansy Petals DSP were added to the left side.
  • A 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Cinnamon Cider was added on top.
  • The Stitched So Sweetly scallop rectangle was cut from Basic White with the Die.  It was stamped with the Sweet as a Peach greeting in Cinnamon Cider Ink.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The peaches and flowers were inked with Pale Papaya (and a little Calypso Coral for a two-tone look) and stamped on scrap Basic White.  The leaves were stamped with Mint Macaron.  All were cut with the Peach Dies.  They were added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the peaches and center of the flower.

IM177 – Inspiration Monday

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a colorful wreath to inspire us!

 

SWEET AS A PEACH

What else would I use besides Stampin’ Up!’s new Sweet as a Peach bundle on my card today!  It was a perfect inspiration piece for it!  I picked the “peaches” to build my card around.

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Calypso Coral cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
    • A 1-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of You’re a Peach DSP (blue stripe) was added down the left side.
    • A 1-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of the floral You’re A Peach DSP was added going across.
    • The peach was inked with Pale Papaya and a sponge dauber to add Calypso Coral along one side, then stamped on Basic White cardstock.  Repeat for second one.
    • The leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink, the flower with Balmy Blue Ink.
    • All were cut with the Peach Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • A small trio flower was cut from Calypso Coral cardstock and added to the center of the flower.
    • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
    • A trio of Genial Gems were added to the background.
