I organized a small candy swap at Convention this year…just a few demo friends were invited and we kept it to less than 10 people. Because it is so hot in Salt Lake City, we used non-chocolate types of candy so it wouldn't melt in our suitcases coming or going!
My contribution could easily be adapted to either a chocolate or non-chocolate item because it just wraps around the item. I chose to use some shortbread cookies in my floral "vase".
I started by cutting two Apothecary Accents "vases" from Pool Party cardstock. I ran them thru the Big Shot with the Chevron Folder. I scored the bottoms right under the area that flairs out again (about 1" from the end) on both pieces. I adhered them together and then added a rectangle reinforcer piece cut to the same width for some extra stability on the bottom.
I cut the flower layers from Polka Dot Parade Designer Papers and the Floral Framelits die. The leaves are two petals cut from one of the larger flowers and Lucky Limeade cardstock. In the center I pierced a hole through both layers of the "vase" and used a Pool Party printed brad to hold it closed. I added the Sweet Treats greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes to the center, too.
I did add a strip of Sticky Strip to the side of the shortbread cookies package so that it would hold it in place. Didn't this turn out cute??? I love it when something in my head turns out exactly like I had imagined it! I think my swapping friends enjoyed it, too!
I'm getting ready to send in an order for more RIBBON SHARES…most shares are almost full. If you want in, email me…order will be placed on Sunday evening!
