DCBD – Color Challenge 112

Today’s Diva Coffee Break Designers’ Challenge was the color combo of Pink Passion, Lovely Lilac, Bashful Blue and Baja Breeze.  I was ok until she added Baja Breeze!  Whoa!  I don’t know why color challenges are more difficult for me.  I love the sketch ones…guess I have more to think about when using specific colors.

 

 

This card actually came out softer than I thought it would.  The Bashful Blue seemed to soften the Lovely Lilac and Pink Passion colors.  I’m giving you a sneak peak of the Sale-A-Bration set, Polka Dot Punches…isn’t it cute?  It has 4 stamps and each line up perfectly with our punches!  (The other two stamps fit the new Heart Punch and the Scallop Circle punch. 

I started with a base of Lovely Lilac and layered with Bashful Blue.  I stamped the upper portion with the circle flower in Bashful Blue for a tone-on-tone look.  I added a strip of Baja Breeze designer paper on top of Pink Passion.  I stamped the 5-petal flower in Pink Passion twice on Whisper White and punched with the 5-petal punch.  Then I added the large star punch out of Pink Passion in between the two 5-petal punches for a unique look.  the center of the 5-petal punch I also stamped in Lovely Lilac and punched with 1/2 circle punch…then placed a pink Rhinestone brad in the center of the entire piece, layered it onto the 1 3/4 circle punch out of Lovely Lilac.  The side flower was stamped in Lovely Lilac on Whisper White and punched with 1 1/4 circle punch, then layered on 1 3/8 circle of Lovely Lilac…then cut in half.  Again I stamped the flower in Pink Passion, punched with the 1/2 circle and layered that onto the flower (cut in half first).  Finally, I stamped Good For You from Really Retro stamp set and punched with the Word Window punch, added a Bashful Blue mini brad to the side.  Pretty simple card…just LOTS of punches!
