Woohoo! I have some exciting news for all of you…a few Stampin’ Up! demos have gotten together and started a new Stamping Blog called Stamping 411! The blog will focus on stamping basics for new and occasional stampers, but the Design Operators will also feature tips, tutorials, videos and weekly sketch challenges for everyone! I encourage you to visit the blog on a regular basis for fabulous inspiration and stamping advice.
The sketch shown here is our very first one! You are encouraged to play along with us and then share your creation by linking it back to the Stamping 411 blog. Add your link in Mr. Linky over there! Be sure to use the sketch number SSC101 if you are posting your creation to SplitcoastStampers. We can’t wait to see what you create!
This card is the official one for my son. As I mentioned, he graduated from Ohio State University, so I used the colors of Scarlett & Gray…or as close as I could get using Real Red and Going Gray cardstock! The base card is Going Gray. I ran the Real Red layer thur the Checkerboard Texturz plate in the Big Shot for a patterned background. Then I stamped the trio congratulations stamp from Great Grads in Going Gray ink on Going Gray cardstock and sponged the edges. I layered that on Basic Black and then Whisper White. I wrapped the 5/8 Real Red Ribbon around the layers and placed a White Basic Jumbo Grommet (in the Occasions Mini) , then I brought up the ribbon thru the inside of the Grommet and tied a knot. The G medallion stamp, also from Great Grads, was inked with Basic Black and stamped on Whisper White, then inked with Real Red and stamped on Whisper White. I used the 1 3/4 Circle Punch for the large circle and the 1 1/4 circle punch to trim out the G in the center. The G is popped up with dimensionals and so is the entire medallion over the ribbon.
Remember, check out the Stamping411 to see more creations made with this sketch. And, again, show us what YOU do with the sketch and leave a link on that Blog to your creation!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Great colors, Connie….wonder how you decided to use Scarlet and Grey??? lol! I went to school in Columbus lo those many years ago, not at OSU but once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye, right? Congrats to your son….my middlest child graduated from college this year as well and it’s wonderful to see them growing and maturing and spreading their wings. That’s a mom perspective, dads just want to know where to forward their bills!
Saw this on the new stamping411 blog which I am sure I will enjoy given the great talent being shared there! Jan Hoyt inkerzaway.blogspot.com
