No need to adjust your monitor…yes, this DOES look similar to THIS card I made a few weeks ago. I thought it appropriate to the 4th of July holiday, so I changed it up some to fit THIS week’s Blogger’s Challenge! The theme this week is Color Blocking! I really like how this technique looks, but somehow I rarely do it. I guess I just don’t think about it when I’m sitting down to create something. I was glad of this week’s opportunity to revisit it.
I layered the Real Red and Brilliant Blue color blocks onto Whisper White cardstock. Then I paper pierced around the entire edge and used my white gel pen to "color" in the stitches. I stamped the Big Birthday Candles in Basic Black with Brilliant Blue and Real Red accents. Happy 4th of July is a retired greeting. I punched it out with the Key Tag and then punched the slot punch on each end so I could run the ribbon thru it. I punched the Snow Blossoms from Yo Yo Yellow Faux Diamond Dust paper. Pretty much a fun and easy card to make!
Now…I’m going to set this post for 7:00 AM on Friday to see if it publishes correctly! We’ll be out at the Lake most of the day and will watch the fireworks. Red/White and Boom was last night in downtown Columbus, but literally over a HUNDRED THOUSAND people show up to watch them…just too crowded for me! I’ll just enjoy the Lake fireworks from the boat…they are beautiful reflecting off the water. I’ll try to remember to take my camera this year!
HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!
