BLOG CANDY!

October 14, 2008 By Connie | 38 Comments

In celebration of being published in Paper Crafts Magazine for the first time, I’m offering YOU some Blog Candy!  I also want to thank you for reading my Blog and for your comments.  I like hearing from you!

This is the candle I submitted to Paper Crafts…aren’t they awesome for sending it back to me?  The Blog Candy does NOT include the candle…sorry.  I picked up several of the candles and holders at the dollar store a couple years ago and they sat in my cupboard.  When Paper Crafts sent out a call for using rub-ons in different ways, I used the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration rub-ons on the candle, wrapped some ribbon around the stand, added some beads from the Pretties kit and sent this in to them.  VERY simple, but makes a pretty impressive gift, I think!

So…for Blog Candy…you will get this October issue of Paper Crafts Magazine AND a 1 year FREE Gift Subscription to Paper Crafts Magazine!  Unfortunately this will be limited to new subscribers only!  (Don’t worry…I have another Blog Candy Award coming up SOON that everyone can participate in!)

So, leave me a comment telling me one thing you’ve seen on my Blog that you really like or one thing that you’d like to see me do with my Blog.  I’ll chose a random number from all the entries.  Please, only one comment per person!  Thanks!  Winner will be drawn Sunday, October 19 at 5:00 PM.

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 17 years and just had my 16 year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

    Connie,

I’ve been a subscriber for awhile now but never posted a comment…not sure if this qualifies me for the contest or not…but wanted to take a moment to say how much I love the fact that you gather items from affordable places (dollar store) and you turn them into something lovely, worthwhile, desirable and still…affordable! Thanks for letting the world take a peak into your creative, thoughtful mind!

    🙂 Lisa

    Hi Connie,

I’ve been reading your blog for a while, but I’m bad and I haven’t commented on anything.

My favorite thing that I’ve seen on your blog (I’ve looked back lots too) is the last black, white and red card you did, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bedding you post…LOL and I really LOVE the matching card! HEHE

Oh and I can’t wait to try the rub-ons on the candles!

    I’m a new demonstrator.

    Thanks

Congrats on getting published. Your candle is so pretty. I really enjoy getting your updates daily. I really like your creative style and your inspiring projects. I’m terrible about commenting, cuz I have so many email updates for blogs. Have you thought about adding the rating to your emails? I’m trying to get better. One of the cards that I really like is the Votive Candle Card. That is such a creative idea and very inspiring. Thanks for a chance at this sweet celebration candy. I need all the help I can get to help my MOJO. 🙂

Hi Connie, Congratulations on being published in Paper Crafts Magazine. My favorite thing on the blog recently were the brightly colored apothecary jars — it’s an idea that could be easily used any time of year with any type of stamp. I enjoy very much taking your punch and technique classes and usually check out you blog daily for more great ideas. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I even liked ” chicken cord on blue”!!

I enjoyed the patina technique card from your previous blog. Seemed like an idea that would be nice for a Halloween card for my mother.

Hi, congratulations on being published. I am a subscriber to your blog and look forward to each new update. I love all your work, but I really love gift items. I try to make my Christmas gifts each year as much as possible so I really appreciate the 3D items you show us. I really love this candle. What a wonderful gift this would make. I think I saw these candles in the store a couple of years ago, but I never thought of altering them.

    Thanks so much for sharing.

That is such an awesome idea!! Congratulations on being published and on the cover no less. Now everyone can see what a talented and creative person you are. Using the rub-ons is so neat and clean! I have done candles where tissue paper was stamped and then put on the candle with a heat gun but using rub-ons is the way to go!! Again, Congrats!

Congrats on being published! You won’t believe this – my friend called me a couple of night ago after reading her issue of the magazine and told me about a great idea for using candles and stamps – here it was yours! I sent her a copy of this. In the past I have done something similar – I stamped on the thin tissue and put it on the side of a candle and then used rub-ons to personalize the gifts with their names. The recipients loved them! Good luck and continued success. Look forward to seeing more of your great ideas.
