This is a technique for the current October 2008 Technique Junkies Newsletter called Patina. I think it makes great looking backgrounds. Since you use a couple different colors, it is easy to customize according to what colors you want to use. And remember, Patina just doesn’t mean Copper…it happens with silvers, reds, browns, too…so use your imagination.
I used this card at my last Techniques Class, going with fall colors (plus I needed a birthday card!) The Patina background fits this stamp set perfectly. Colors used were Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Metallic Gold. I did use my oval Coluzzle and then individually cut out the pumpkins and stems in Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. The wide Old Olive grosgrain ribbon adds the final touch!
We really enjoyed having the kids in town over the weekend…miss seeing my son. He won’t be back now until Christmas. My hubby and I might just need to take a trip up to see him one more time before he moves from Madision, WI to Kansas City, KS.
Have a great week! My hubby is off today so I’m getting a late start, too!
