Bloggers’ Challenge and MoJo Monday Sketch

February 5, 2010 By Connie | 27 Comments

I looked at the number #137 for today's Bloggers' Challenge and can't believe we've been doing these every week for that long!  Amazing!  I missed the very first two, but did start on #3.  Wow!  Today we were challenged to use Red, White and Black.  With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it really wasn't that difficult to come up with a card using those colors!  I also combined the colors with the Mojo Monday Challenge Sketch #124!  Really a fun one today!

I had to use my little Stampin' Up! Love Bandit set…LOVE the raccoon in this set!  I used to collect raccoons when I was younger.  I think they have the sweetest looking faces…especially this one!

The base of the card is Real Red Cardstock.  I layered on Whisper White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Dotted Impressions Folder.  On top of that is a piece of Groom Designer Paper in the Black Stripe.  Then a small piece of the red check from Jackpot Designer Paper.  I stamped the Raccoon in Basic Black on Whisper White and colored the heart with my Real Red Stampin' Write marker.  When I mounted my set, I put the words on the side of the block.  So, I stamped the words "You Stole My Heart" in Basic Black on Real Red cardstock and punched with the Modern Label punch and added two Clear Rhinestone Brads to each side.  The raccoon was punched with the 1 1/4 circle and adhered to a 1 3/8 Basic Black circle, then the Real Red Scallop Circle that I pierced with the Piercing Tool and Mat.  Finally I added a piece of Real Red Polka Dot Ribbon (reversed to the plain side) and added the Black Gingham Ribbon on top of it!

That's it!  I love how he turned out!  I think I'll send this card to my Mom and Dad for Valentine's Day!  Have a great weekend!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 18 years and had my 17 year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

I like how even though we used the same sketch, punch and color combo that we still got two unique looks with our cards!  That little raccoon has been my favorite from that set and I love how you separated the sentiment and added it with the modern label punch!
