DCBD106 – Color Challenge

December 18, 2008 By Connie | 5 Comments

I broke down.  Yep…I bought Holiday Lineup at the last minute and just now am getting to use it.  I tried to resist…but I should have known better.  Those snowmen were just calling my name and I love the expressions on the elves and reindeer.  Who could resist?  Not me…

Yesterday was the Diva Coffee Break Designer’s color challenge and I missed getting this posted.  I had a couple deadlines over my head and just couldn’t do it all.  So, I’m making up for yesterday by posting my card today.  The challenge was to use the colors of Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and either Kiwi Kiss or Tangerine Tango.  I managed to get ALL of them on my design!  The Tangerine Tango is shown in just the carrot noses!  I actually LOVE all these colors, so it wasn’t so much of a challenge!

I used my favorite coloring medium right now…reinkers and my AquaPainter.  I like how much more control I have on the depth of color.  I also used some of the Holiday Treasures designer paper, which went with these colors perfectly.  And, of course, the Kiwi Kiss striped ribbon…I go through a TON of it…I think I’m on my 4th or 5th roll!  Happy Holidays is from Many Merry Messages stamp set.  I think I’ll send this card to my mom and dad…they will get a chuckle out of the snowmen!

Check out the rest of the Diva’s…I haven’t peeked at their creations, but I am sure they are fabulous!  Enjoy!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 18 years and had my 17 year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

You are so talented! Everything on your blog amazes me- like all those glass block gifts you did!! How super nice! Love this card for our challenge too. That set speaks to me as well- they just make me laugh… but I did resist temptation to buy it so far. And 4 or 5 rolls of Kiwi ribbon?!???? What?! That is amazing! I love it too, but I have all the other colors also (well, except Tango) and spread the love a little more. I guess you just play favorites and don’t feel one bit bad about it, eh?! LOL! Anyway, super job coloring and I LOVE that dotted paper. One of my favorites in that pack!

I love that set too, but it is the goofy elves calling my name. I hope they stick around for a looong time. Loooove the card!
