Game Night – Control Freaks Swap

January 22, 2009 By Connie | 3 Comments

Sorry!  I’ve been slacking and not getting my posts out first thing in the morning!  Check back tomorrow morning, though…I’ll have my Bloggers’ Challenge up.

I think it is safe to post my Control Freaks Catalog Preorder Swap…everyone should have received their swaps back by now.  This was my contribution.  I signed up for this set that demos could preorder from the new catalog.  Then we I got it, I drew a blank on what to do with all the small pieces!  After trying several different alternatives, I ended up with this one.  I used three different colored Patterns Designer Paper…Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss…those colors looked like game pieces to me!  I mounted them on Basic Black to make them pop!  Then I stamped the images onto Glossy cardstock…I like using Glossy with solid images, it makes them appear nice and bold.  Then I punched them with the 1 3/8 circle and layered onto the Scallop Circles.  Game Night I punched with the Word Window and then layered onto the Small Oval punch, adding two mini brads on the side.  I just knotted the ribbon instead of tying a bow.  Once I came up with the design, it didn’t take me long to put them together…it was good  TV time.

Set:  Game Night
C/S: Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Basic Black, Glossy White, Patterns DSP
Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Other:  Silver mini brads, 1 3/8 & Scallop Circle punches, Word Window Punch, Small Oval punch, Kiwi Stripe ribbon

Enjoy!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!

Connie — great use of this stamp set. I am in the same boat: love the stamps, not coming up with a great card, some CASEing might be in order!

VERY Eye catching! Great job Connie! I haven’t mounted my set yet but I understand what you’re saying about a lot of small piece..that can be challenging, but you did a great job the way you put it all together! TFS!
