Sketch Challenge TSSC73

June 9, 2009 By Connie | 3 Comments

UPDATED LAST CHANCE RETIRED LISTS

 JUNE CARD KIT NOW AVAILABLE

I took Mary Jo’s TSSC73 sketch challenge this week and created this card using the retiring sets, Outlined for Fun and Great Grads.  Again…both these staples will stay in my stamp collection!  Outlined for Fun because it is quirky and FUN and a great size for being the focal point on a card.  And Great Grads because I think it is a wonderful Graduation set with both inside and outside verses!  There is nothing like either set in the new catalog…so don’t wait if you need good sets like these.

I started with a base of Pacific Point cardstock and layered a piece of Pacific Point Patterns Designer Paper on top of Basic Black cardstock.  I wrapped some White Taffeta Ribbon around the bottom of that layer and adhered it to the base.  I used my Circle Scissors Tool to cut out th large circles in Whisper White and a mat of Basic Black.  I stamped Good Luck from Outlined for Fun in Basic Black and watercolored with Pacific Point and Basic Gray ink pads and my AquaPainter.

I stamped the G medallion from Great Grads in both Basic Black and Pacific Point ink on Whisper White and punched the inside G with the 1 3/8 circle punch and the Basic Black with the 1 3/4 circle punch.  These were adhered together and popped up with dimensionals.  I added three 1/4 circle punches to the upper right.  Finally, I punched the 1 1/4 Square punch and cut it into a diamond shape for the Grad Hat and used my 3/4 square punch and the 3/4 circle to make the headband for the hat.  I placed a Silver Mini Brad in the center of the hat, and I cut the tassel by hand out of Pacific Point cardstock.

Thanks, Mary Jo, for a FUN sketch!  I’ll be using it again, I’m sure!

All the products I used are still available as of this post.  Email me today or go ONLINE and Shop Now from my website!

I love stamping cards, altering 3D items and making little favors. I've been stamping for over 20 years and will have my 19th year Stampin' Up! anniversary in early May. I love being part of something that sparks my creativity and hear people comment, "you MADE this?" I also enjoy sharing that passion with others in my classes! If you live anywhere in the Delaware, Dublin, Powell, Lewis Center, Hilliard or surrounding Columbus, Ohio areas, join us! I love to meet new stamping friends. Email me for a current class schedule... I'm adding new classes all the time!
