Wow…sorry I've been missing in action for a few days! I completely ran out of time before the stamping weekend retreat to get my posts up for Saturday's Stamping 411 Challenge (hope you stop by anyway) and Monday! So, here is a fill in!
This week's design challenge on SU Late Night Stampers is to use a candy wrapper as inspiration for your card! Great timing with Halloween right around the corner. Of course, I've not purchased my candy for Beggar's Night on Thursday…mainly because I don't want the temptation to eat it!
I took my inspiration from the Dove Chocolate Bar…a rich looking dark orange wrapper with yellow and a hint of green on the wrapper! My card uses Stampin' Up!'s Branch Out stamp set (still available, just on the dormant list) and the Chalk Lines Technique from Technique Junkies! Very fun technique!
I started with a base card of Dusty Durango and added the piece of Chalk Line Technique Paper I made with the Really Rust, Garden Green and More Mustard chalks. I stamped the tree with Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and added Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry Classic Ink for leaves. I also added a black crow and tire swing. Grateful Greetings from the same set name is stamped with Chocolate Chip on Crushed Curry and made into a pennant.
I like this card!
Well, I'm exhausted from the LONG weekend retreat! The time goes by SO fast…even staying up until 1:30-2:00 AM each night! Morning comes pretty quickly! Time to get back into a routine, although I still have company here until Thursday!
