This is my second post for today, so don't forget to scroll down to see Elizabeth Price's DARLING Blossom Bouquet Triple Punch Centerpiece and the chance to win some BLOG CANDY on Create with Connie and Mary!
I haven't played along with Paper Pal Arts in a long while, but I LOVE their color combo challenge this week…and guess what set fits it PERFECTLY? Yep! Flower Fest! Well, actually I had a two-fold purpose for using it. My mother-in-law loves flowers and we usually give her a nice potted plant for Mother's Day, so I created this card for her. (Hope she isn't peeking at my blog today!)
And here is my card, using my favorite Stampin' Up! Flower Fest! And…can you believe I goofed again and didn't use the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle punch for the big flower? What's WRONG with me! lol! I could have made it SO much easier on myself by using the punch! Oh well…maybe I'll redo the card another day…after I had adhered everything, I had another thought on the layout, so you may see this card…part deux!
I started with the base of Peach Parfait cardstock and layered on Whisper White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder. I added a strip of Sunny Garden Designer Paper and wrapped Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding Ribbon around with a nice bow and adhered in the back. I stamped the large flower several times with Poppy Parade ink and Peach Parfait ink, watercolored them with the AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers, then cut them out to stack on top of each other. I added the Peach Parfait Itty Bitty flower punch in the center with the Itty Bitty flower button on top, then added a Pearl Jewel to each of the centers. I stamped the leaf stems in Pear Pizzazz and Watercolored with the AquaPainter and Pear Pizzazz Stampin' Write Marker.
FInally, I stamped Happy Mother's Day from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Poppy Parade on Whisper White and punched with the Word Window and layered on the Peach Parfait Modern Label Punch. Oh…I added two little Pearls in the upper right corner of the DSP, too, just to balance it a little more! Hope you enjoy it!
