Wow…I can't believe our Occasions Edition of Create with Connie and Julie is over! This is our last challenge and then we'll announce the winners on Friday. This week's theme was Mother's Day cards.
My card is a tri-fold card from Rose Red cardstock and it was hard to get a good photo of it closed! I took my colors from the Sweet Pea Designer Paper. I knew I wanted to use the small floral designer paper in that package…then ended up almost covering the flowers up! Oh well!
I stamped MOM from Stampin' Up!'s Messages for Mom stamp set in Taken with Teal on Whisper White cardstock, then layered it on Taken with Teal cardstock. Only the left side of it is secured to the front panel of the tri-fold card. I wrapped some Rose Red 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a small bow. I added some Beautiful Wings Embosslit butterflies and the clear rhinestone stickers from the Eggcellent Egg Kit!

Opened up, you can see the inside greeting stamped in Taken with Teal on Whisper White and again matted on Taken with Teal cardstock. I added a Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flower and leaves to the bottom right corner.
Supplies:
Sets: Messages for Mom
Inks: Taken with Teal
Cardstock: Rose Red, Taken with Teal, Whisper White
Accessories: Sweet Pea Designer Paper, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, 1/4 Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, rhinestones from Eggcellent Egg Kit

Pals Paper Arts has a color challenge going on this week (PPA28) and I thought I'd play along because the colors are so dramatic and fun! I decided to glam up my Tote-ally Tess with a sparkly dress for her night out on the town! Julie Dinn, Mary Brown and I also did a little mini challenge…each of us coming up with a card using "Tess"! You can see their cards their cards on their websites here:
Tess I stamped with Black Craft Ink on Whisper White and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. On a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock, I stamped and embossed her again, then added a thin layer of Tombow Multipurpose Glue all over the front of her, following the outline of her legs to make the dress. I sprinkled on the Rose Pink colored Fine Cosmos Glitter. After it dried, I cut out the dress and adhered it over the Whisper White Tess. I added some of the tiny Rhinestone in her hair in a flower shape! The words are from You and Moi, one of the stamp sets you can get FREE for Sale-A-Bration! I added two more tiny rhinestones on each end of the greeting..png)

OK…I must say that I LOVE my boxes! I started with just the Fox and he turned out SO cute, I had to try a couple of the other critters in Fox & Friends. I wished I had time to make them all, but had to stop…lol! This box template is so versatile, that you could use it for LOTS of different things.
I added more layers to the center focal piece with Pale Plum cardstock layered on Perfect Plum. I stamped the vine image in Pale Plum over the Pale Plum cardstock, then used my piercing tool and mat to create the corner design. I added a 1 3/8 circle punched from Old Olive, then tucked some Old Olive leaves made with the 5 petal punch (I sponged around the edges with Old Olive). I stamped the large flower with Perfect Plum on Whisper White and cut it out and two smaller flowers with Pale Plum and cut them out. The center of the large flower has a small flower punched from Trio of Flowers, then a Jumbo White Brad in the center. The two smaller flowers have Old Olive Mini Brads in the centers.
This week's Color Challenge was to create a card using the colors of Real Red, Pretty in Pink, and Chocolate Chip. Of course, those are the same colors in the Stampin' Up! Sending Love Designer Paper, so I had to use it!
