Oh, I had so much fun making this origami shirt! I didn't know if it would work, but I had the idea of making it large enough that it could hold candy. The only candy I had on hand that looked good inside, though, was the boring Starlights. lol! The main body of the shirt is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4, with the sleeves and collar hanging over.
I used the colors for the Color Throwndown Challenge…Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red and Kiwi Kiss (I used Old Olive so it is a current SU color). Of course, I had to use Stampin' Up!'s Tropical Party Stamp Set again…the colors were perfect for it! I started with an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of Whisper White Cardstock and randomly stamped the leaves first in Old Olive, then added the Tempting Turquoise and Rose Red large flowers. I used the directions HERE to make the origami shirt. For buttons, I used the 5/16" Neutral Jumbo Brads in Silver (white just disappeared).
Note: A couple additions to the directions. Fold the top flap back 3/4" in Step 3. In Step 5, mark 3 3/4 from bottom to start the sleeve fold.
When it was finished, I scored 1/2 from the bottom edge of the shirt on both sides of the fold line to have enough space to place a cello bag filled with candy.
It went together pretty easy! And I think they would be perfect for a Father's Day brunch table favor or Luau Party!
