I'm on a roll with Stampin' Up!'s Sew Suite Stamp Set! It was one of the first selections I chose out of the Occasions Mini Catalog…I love the entire collection of products! SCS has a FUN Sketch Challenge today and I thought immediately of the spools of thread in each box! This also fits the challenge over on SU Only Challenge of Sale-A-Bration since I used a greeting from the So Happy For You Sale-A-Bration set!
Well, I can't say this card came together quickly! I changed up the colors, DSP patterns and thread colors SEVERAL times! I also had a completely different bow on there…nothing was working with the original selections! Finally, I changed the base to Regal Rose and used the pretty floral print from Sweet Stitches Designer paper. I added a trim from Tasteful Trim XL Die in Rose Red, but I probably didn't even need it since you can hardly see it now.
I punched four squares from the Regal Rose Pattern in Sweet Stitches DSP with the Scallop Square Punch, then layered it on a 1 1/2 square of Garden Green cardstock. I stamped four spools of thread from Sew Suite with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla and cut them out. Then I stamped the spool again on Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Rose Red and Marina Mist cardstocks and cut just the thread portion out to layer on the Very Vanilla spools. I like adding color this way, rather than using a marker to color. Each of the spools is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Finally, I made a bow from Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon and added a Sweet Stitches Designer Brad in the center. I've totally used up this pattern of brads…LOVE it! I stamped "thanks" from So Happy for You in Early Espresso above the bow. I am happy with the finished card, although it certainly took a round about way to get there!
Happy Wednesday! I'm spending the day getting ready for my Stamp Club tomorrow night! LOVE this bunch of gals…always a FUN class!
