Today on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, we have a great color combination for you to try! Anyone can play along, so grab your colors…then upload your creation over on Create with Connie and Mary!
I know I haven't used River Rock much since they brought it back, but I loved it as an In Color! It really is a nice little neutral! This color challenge is really FUN!
Since we are featuring Summer Splash (along with Summer Fun, Fish Frenzy, Recess and the Builder Wheels) this week over on the subscriber side of Create with Connie and Mary, I pulled out Summer Splash to use again. I just LOVE that little octopus!
I started with the base of Elegant Eggplant for the card. I layered on Sahara Sand, the top I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots (for bubbles…get it?) and the bottom I used the Fish Frenzy Jumbo Wheel with Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink. I didn't have any Melon Mambo DSP that matched, so I created my own by using the Solid Stripes Background Stamp. I tend to forget about these little background blocks…but they are a nice size for layers! I stamped the Stripes with Melon Mambo on Melon Mambo cardstock and placed it on the River Rock cardstock. I wrapped some White Organdy Stripe Ribbon around and tied a knot.
Then I stamped the Octopus in Elegant Eggplant on Whisper White and punched with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle. I layered it on Melon Mambo 2 1/2 Circle and added three Rhinestone Jewels in the scallops. Finally, I stamped the greeting from Happy Greetings stamp set in Basic Black on Elegant Eggplant and punched it with the Decorative Label Punch. I like my fishy card!
Make sure to check out what the rest of the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team did this week with the color combo. Some great and different ideas as usual!
Sharing creativity one stamped image at a time!
