Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New 2022-24 In Color

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is showing off our FAVORITE new In Color! Hands down mine is Parakeet Party…I was SO excited to see a lime green in our lineup again! But to be honest, I love all of them this year…nice and bright!

UNIQUELY ARTISTIC

I’ve used the stamp set that I received for virtually attending OnStage last month! I thought the leaves image would work perfectly for my Parakeet Party card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11Parakeet Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black was added on top.
A 3 x 4 piece of Parakeet Party In Color DSP was wrapped with the 1/8″ Metallic Parakeet Party Ribbon in a criss cross, then added to the front.
The scallop rectangle was cut from Basic White with the Contour Scallops Die and stamped with the detail leaf image in Memento Black Ink and the inside with Parakeet Party Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thinking of You from Quiet Meadow cardstock was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 2 piece of Parakeet Party cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was added with Stampin’ Dimesionals.
A trio of green In Color Matte Dots were added to the background.

OK…there are a couple little TIPS on this card that probably aren’t readily noticeable! One is that the bones under the skull aren’t actually that long. I stamped the bone image twice and cut them in half, then added them under the skull to appear that they are long. The other is the RIP alphabet letters…I didn’t use an alphabet set…I cut out the letters from the Trick or Treat greeting in that set! Isn’t that cool?

So, here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tangelo Twist, folded in half.
The star pattern from Happy Hauntings DSP is cut 3-3/4 x 5 and adhered on front. I then decided to add the striped pattern across the bottom, it measures 1-1/2 x 4-1/4.
A 1/4″ x 4-1/4 strip of Black Glimmer Paper hides the seam. I also cut out the word Boo! from Boo To You Framelits from Black Glimmer Paper and adhered it with the new Fine Tip Glue Pen to the DSP.
I used the Lots of Label framelit and cut a piece of Basic Gray for the tombstone. I sponged White Craft Ink around the edges.
The skull and bones from Howl-o-ween were stamped on Very Vanilla with the new Archival Black Ink Pad, and cut out with the Boo to You Framelits. Then the bones were cut in half as described above, and were placed on the tombstone with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a couple rhinestones to the eyes for a little bling.
The Trick or Trick greeting was stamped with Archival Black Ink on scrap Very Vanilla, then the RIP letters were hand-cut and added to the top of the tombstone. Cut off the leg of the second R to make your P.

Lotus Blossom Blog Hop

Those of you who follow Create with Connie and Mary know that we have been doing a Blog Hop while we are in session. Well, we are excited to announce that we are EXPANDING that the blog hop to EVERY Saturday with our FABULOUS Design Team! Don’t worry, our Thursday Challenge is still going strong…make sure to check out our new members for that team!

This week we are focusing on the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set…one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration sets you can get with a $50 purchase! You’ve probably just come from Deb Currier’s blog…isn’t her card awesome? I love her work!

OK…so here’s my card for this week! I love the simplicity of making wonderful flowers with this set…but thought I’d try something a little different and stamp on Crumb Cake with Whisper White first, then add in the additional colors!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Pool Party, folded in half.
On top is a 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Pool Party, embossed with the Spring Flowers Folder. It is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On the 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 panel of Crumb Cake, the solid blossom was stamped with White Craft Ink. The second step was stamped with Blush Blossom and the third step was stamped with Calypso Coral Ink. The stem was stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow inks.
The greeting was stamped with Mossy Meadow, too.
A 1/2 x 3 3/4 strip of Blushing Bride was added to the bottom of the Crumb Cake, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a trio of Rhinestones and some Coastal Cabana Thick Twine tied in a bow was added for a little bling!

CCMC303 Work of Art

I think this new Stampin’ Up! set, Work of Art, is so AWESOME! We received it at the Catalog Premier last month! I’ve done SEVERAL cards with it…but holding off on posting them for now. I think you’ll see a couple during the Tour de Freaks coming up this month! I’m still waiting on the rest of my preorder. I waited until after the Stampin’ Up! cruise to preorder from the new catalog so that I knew if we received any of the new products on the cruise I wouldn’t have duplicates. Then I goofed and forgot to have it shipped 2nd day air…so I’m still waiting on them! Boo…

The sketch challenge today over on Create with Connie and Mary was made for the set! Wait until you see what I did!

So, of course, I had to take the abstract images from Work of Art and turn it into a flower! I think it turned out pretty cool!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Strawberry Slush cardstock, folded in half.
I cut a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White and used the Work of Art brush image with Strawberry Slush Ink for the flower and the same image for the Wild Wasabi leaves. I used the long line image in Wild Wasabi for the stem.
I stamped the zig zag image in the same set with Soft Sky ink across the bottom, then stamped off and moved it up and stamped again.
The Just For was stamped with Black Stazon ink, then the You with Strawberry Slush.
I thought it still needed a little bling, so I used some Coastal Cabana solid twine and tied a bow, then used a Mini Glue Dot to hold it in place. I added some rhinestones randomly on the front.
The Whisper White layer was placed on 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 layer of Basic Black, then adhered to the front of the card.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this card and I hope you do, too!!! I can’t wait to play some more with this fun set! Make sure to put it on YOUR list!

WOOHOO! It's finally my turn to do a CARD SET for our PREVIEW WEEK over on Create with Connie and Mary! It is the LAST DAY of PREVIEW…we start Card Create-tions 2014 TOMORROW. I chose Backyard Basics for my set today…mainly because it has matching framelits! Makes it SO easy to cut them out! Like Mary, I used only one Designer Paper on my set…Watercolor Wonder. I was amazed at how nice the stamp set and DSP went together! I also used the versatile stamp set, Express Yourself, that is a hostess only set in the main catalog. I love all the greetings in it!

CCMC296 Hello Sailor

Oh what a FUN color challenge today over on Create with Connie and Mary! I thought it was perfect for the High Tide Designer Paper package, so I grabbed it to use on my card.

Here's my card using Hello Sailor stamp set. I bought this set mainly for the greeting "You're My Best Mate!" Love it…perfect for my husband as he has had many boats over the years!

Here are the details:

I used a 4 1/4 x 11 base of Summer Starfruit, folded in half.
I cut a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White, and used the Deco Label Framelit to cut out the shape. Then I used Pacific Point Ink to place the greeting on the base Summer Starfruit cardstock.
Along the bottom, I cut a 2 1/2 x 4 piece of High Tide Designer Paper and adhered it to the bottom. Along the seam, I added a 1/2 x 4 piece of Pacific Point Cardstock.
I used White Bakers Twine and wrapped it around several times to resemble nautical rope!
I stamped the Wheel from Hello Sailor with Pacific Point on Whisper White and used the Circle Framelits to cut it out, then layered it on another circle of Pacific Point. In the center I placed an Vintage Button Brad.
I punched out some Banner punches from the High Tide Designer Paper and lined them up along the White Baker's Twine.
